She was born July 15, 1926, in Blackfoot, Idaho, to Arthur and Teresa Manwaring. The youngest of six children, she was very involved in school and community activities. Lorraine married James Marvin Wray on November 8, 1946, in the Idaho Falls Temple. They made their home in Riverside; and later, Moreland, Idaho, raising their family of six children on the Wray farm. Lorraine was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many church callings. In 1991, Lorraine and Marvin retired from farming and moved to Provo, Utah. She and her husband served in the Provo Temple for three years and completed two missions for the Church, first in Minneapolis, Minnesota; and later, in Baltimore, Maryland. Maintaining strong family ties was very important to Lorraine and many of her hours were spent serving family near and far. She had a great love of music which was expressed through solos, groups, choirs, teaching piano and performing in community musical productions. Other interests included sewing, quilting, gardening, family history, writing poetry, cooking, and writing the monthly family newsletter. She had a special talent for remembering special life events and keeping in contact with family and friends through cards, letters, and phone calls. She is survived by one son, Berkley (Connie) Wray, Blackfoot, ID; and five daughters: Ronda (Robert) Keddington, Salt Lake City, UT; Candice (Steven) Huffaker, Mesa, AZ; Marva Lu (Kelly) Kesler, and Pam (Gary) Eckhardt, both of Blackfoot, ID; and Shelli (Kent) Christiansen, Lehi, UT; 30 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Friends and family can visit Thursday evening, January 20, 2005, from 6-8 p.m. at the Oak Hills Stake Center, 925 E. North Temple, Provo. Funeral services and burial will be on Saturday, January 22, in Blackfoot, Idaho, under the direction of Wing Mortuary, Lehi. Published in the Daily Herald on 1/17/2005.
