Haas, Terrence Bishop Terrence Bishop Haas, 43, died as he had lived, surrounded by his loving family, whom he called his center. He passed away peacefully on Tuesday, 18 January 2005. Terry was born 9 July 1961, in Columbus, Ohio, and became and always will be everything to his beloved mother, Natalie. In his short life, he achieved all that he had set out to accomplish. From his first day of school, when he disappointedly told his mother that he had not learned anything because he still did not know how planes fly and how boats sail, he insatiably pursued knowledge. In 1978, he graduated, at age 16, from Springfield High School in Holland, Ohio. By the time he was twenty, he had earned both a B.S. in business from Ohio State, as a proud Evans Scholar, and an MBA from Indiana University. In 1990, he married his darling, JaNae Brown, in Provo, Utah, where they made their home. In 1998, he completed an MS in computer science at Brigham Young University. He was thoroughly committed to and thrived in his career as a Software Engineer at Novell. His family wishes to thank all of his supportive colleagues, for their care and concern. He is survived by his loving wife, JaNae Haas; his sons, Alex (12) and Connor (10); his beloved mother, Natalie; his stepfather and dear friend, Paul Waddell; his devoted father-in-law, Glen Brown; his brothers-and-sisters-in-law; Mike (Leslie); Barry (Debbie); Kelly (Sharon); Danny; Bonnie (Dirk); Julie (Julie Ann); nephews and nieces: Leigh; Cale (Heather); David (Emily); Chase; Regan; Bryan; Brandon (Leah); Ashley (Brian); Matt; Cameron; Justin (Kari); Ethan; Ben; Melissa; Ellison; Bowen; their children, many dear cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. He was preceded in death by his dear mother-in-law, Betty; her sister, Helen; and many valued relatives and friends. We wish to thank Dr. Thomas Dickinson, Chris Biesinger, and their staff for their loving and thorough care. You were always there for us. 'Twill yonder break Shall wind serve We knew him well For our dad's swerve He lighted the day And brighted the night He lifted our spirits Until the moment was right--- Love, from Connor "My Dad was a wonderful person and very loving dad. He enjoyed hanging out with Connor and me. He would go to the park with us to throw the football, play tennis, and many other activities. One day, after finishing up a tennis game at the park, he remarked to our grandpa that It doesn't get better than this.' You will be forever in my heart and mind." Love you, Dad Alex. Terry unerringly followed his own internal compass. He lived thoroughly in the present and was truly tolerant and always fearless. He departed without regrets. We celebrate his life, and we will miss him always. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a fund in the name of Terrence Haas, for the education of his sons, through any Mountain America Credit Union.
