Hardy Jordan, 90, passed away peacefully at her home on July 22, 2005. Evelyn was born on November 15, 1914, to George W. and Myrtle Ann Freshwater Hardy. She was raised in Provo, Utah, then later resided in Springville for over 70 years. She married Harold N. Jordan and together they raised two sons. From a young age, Evelyn was on her own and worked hard for everything she had. She helped raise her two younger siblings after the death of her parents. She spent her younger years working for families in both Salt Lake and Utah counties. Working for the Firmage family in Salt Lake City, during WWII, was a period in her life that she spoke of often. She later worked as a school lunch supervisor for Nebo School District. After her husband passed away in 1983, she filled the next 22 years of her life spending time with family and friends, playing cards at the Springville Senior Citizens Center, traveling with her daughter-in-law, JoLynn, and keeping her grandsons busy working in her yard and around her home. Evelyn remained active and busy all of her life. She loved to garden and always had a beautifully manicured yard. She was also an excellent cook and enjoyed hosting and entertaining her family and friends. She was good at everything she undertook. She will always be remembered for fine taste and classy style, her honesty and straightforwardness, and for her example of determination and hard work. Though she sometimes seemed "rough around the edges," those who knew her best greatly loved her and will miss her very much. She is survived by her two sons: James "Jim" (Shirlene) of Springville, and Elliott (Deanna) of Monroe; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Harold; her husband, her siblings; and by her beloved daughter-in-law, JoLynn Daniels Jordan. The family extends sincere thanks to the amazing doctors, nurses and aides at 1st Choice Home Health and Hospice. A special thanks is also given to members of the Hobble Creek 9th Ward and the many neighbors and friends who made her life more fulfilling and enjoyable. In her words, "They are all Treasures!"
