Selma was born in American Fork, Utah, on November 5, 1912, the eldest of ten children born to Ernest Joakim and Myrtle Robinson Seastrand. Selma married Elden J. Miller on June 14, 1938, in the LDS Salt Lake Temple. He preceded her in death on December 20, 1990. A well-known educator in Alpine School District for 36 years, Selma retired in 1976, but continued as a substitute teacher for a number of years. She received her normal certificate and later a baccalaureate degree from Brigham Young University. She taught many years in American Fork. Many of her first-grade students learned their "readin', 'ritin' and 'rithmetic" in her classroom. Selma also was a member of the American Fork Literary League, was a precinct voting judge for several recent elections, and was an avid sports fan. In 1936, she was American Fork Poultry Days Queen. She was also active with local bridge and pinochle groups, and was Grand Marshal of the 2003 Steel Days Parade in American Fork. A life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in many capacities. She had a zest for life and especially loved her extended family and many friends. She enjoyed extensive traveling, with the highlight being a visit to her father's birth home in Sweden. Selma is survived by her three daughters: Ann (John) Miller of Orem; Nancy (Rich) Moore of Park City; and Rosemary of American Fork. Her posterity includes five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her stepdaughter, Jackie Miller Clark (Varlan, deceased) of Lehi, who has four children, eighteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Her surviving siblings include Gareth (Dorothy) Seastrand, Richard (Gay) Seastrand, Steven (Nancy) Seastrand, Lillian (Chet, deceased) Holmberg, and Vivian (Bruce) Evans. She was preceded in death by her husband, a granddaughter, two great-grandchildren, three brothers, and a sister. Funeral services for Selma Miller will be held Wednesday, July 27, 2005, at 11 a.m., at the American Fork Eighth Ward Chapel, 320 North 100 East. Friends may call Tuesday, July 26, 2005, from 6-8 p.m. at Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, American Fork; and, at the chapel, from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Nielsen, Adrienne Sherwood Adrienne Elaine Sherwood Nielsen passed away on July 23, 2005, at her Provo home surrounded by her three loving daughters and her devoted husband. She bravely waged a four-year battle with cancer, never losing her cheerful grace nor her profound kindness. Born October 25, 1946, to Roy Stanley and Constance Strong Sherwood in Salinas, CA., she lived in Concord and surrounding areas, attending Clayton Valley High School. The family later relocated to Orem, Utah, where she attended BYU. Preceded in death by her father, Roy Stanley Sherwood, Adrienne is survived by her beloved husband, Seven; her devoted daughters: Priscilla (B.J. Harrison), Charlotte (Joe Brown), Lilly (Rob McDowell); five adorable grandchildren: Basil, Seven, Miles, Simon, and Magnolia; her dear mother, Connie (Nana) Sherwood Hendrikse (Jacob); her accomplished brother, Samuel Sherwood (America); her mother-in-law, Erma Snow Nielsen; and many other extended family members, in-laws, and close friends. Adrienne was a talented stylist and decorator, counted on by producers, designers, and friends for her expertise, especially dealing with Christmas themes. She was indispensable to her husband, a local designer. Her influence has been seen in many stage and television productions and commercials, as well as magazine layouts, theatre lobbies, and countless homes. Adrienne s steadfast service to her church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, again, include many programs, dinners, and productions, including numberless "Journeys to Bethlehem" for many wards. Through all of her work, the love of the Savior, Jesus Christ, was evident, and her continual counseling of family, friends, and loved-ones edified and lifted those around her. She loved gentleness, children, beauty, patriotism, music, and all things Disney. Viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 26, 2005, from 6-9 p.m. at Berg Mortuary, 185 East Center Street, Provo; and also, on Wednesday, July 27, 2005, from 9-10:30 a.m. at the church prior to services. Funeral services will be held at the Grandview 17th Ward 1122 Grand Avenue (1600 West), Provo, at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Eastlawn Memorial Hills Cemetery. Witham, Dora Elsner Dora Elsner Witham, 90, died peacefully at her home in Orem, July 21, 2005. She was born in Providence, Utah, on April 15,1915, to Carl Ernest and Elsie Elsner. She married Robert Oliver Witham on July 25, 1943, in Los Angeles. Their marriage was sealed in the Mesa Arizona Temple in 1946. Bob, the love of Dora's life, died October 12, 1966. After so many years of bravely carrying on with life and raising her family, what a joyful reunion there is in heaven! Dora was a fun-loving, energetic, caring, serving and sometimes flamboyant lady. She was an active member of the LDS Church. Her great passions were her family, missionary work, and temple work. She served two missions, one to the Northern States and the other to Rochester, NY. She served as a worker in the Oakland Temple for 12 years. She raised her children, and many other "Saturday sons and daughters", setting an example of hard work and compassion for others. She will be remembered for her love of bright colors, her kitchen band, water skiing at age 80, and many other things that will bring a smile and ease the hurt of her absence. Dora is survived by her six children: David (Linda) of Ventura, California; Clyde (Julia) of Saratoga Springs; Alma (Terry) Shields of Orem; Carl (Pat) of Dublin, California; Craig (Lisa) of Provo; and Norma Jean (Michael) McGee of Aptos, California. She is also survived by 28 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren whom she was so proud of and loved dearly. A grandson and granddaughter are currently serving missions for the LDS Church and two grandsons are serving the country in the military. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 26, 2005, at 11 a.m. at the River Ridge LDS Ward building, 1120 East 600 North, in Orem, with a viewing at the ward building one hour prior to services. Dora will be buried in Los Angeles next to her loving husband and parents.
