(Curly) Sterling L. (Curly) Beddoes Sterling L. (Curly) Beddoes, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 24, 2005 at his home. He was born July 7, 1926 in Salem, Utah to Edward M. and Alice Hazel Beddoes. He married Dorothy Francom, December 1, 1945. She passed away October 14, 1981. He married Sheila Norton, September 1, 1983. He was sealed to both spouses, November 20, 1999 in the Provo LDS Temple. He worked as a heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed doing service for people using his old red tractor. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He will be greatly missed by: his wife, Sheila; children, Ronald (Brenda) Beddoes; Carolyn (Nolan) Davidson; Sandy (Randy) Japserson; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and his brother, Max (Bessie) Beddoes. He was preceded in death by: his youngest son, Jim Beddoes; 2 brothers; 3 sisters; and a granddaughter. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 30, 2005, 11:00 a.m., in the Santaquin, Utah 1st Ward Chapel, 545 North 200 East. OGDEN On a warm July morning, July 25, 2005, Grace Wilde Cornaby, 88, passed away peacefully at Crestwood Care Center. She was born April 29, 1917 in Spanish Fork, Utah to Alonzo E. and Ruth Hannah Larsen Wilde. She was educated in schools in Mammoth and Spanish Fork, Utah and attended Brigham Young University. Grace was truly a lady of beauty and charm with a constant smile and a cheerful word for all. She never complained, even in the difficult last years of her life. She married William Wayne Cornaby, her high school sweetheart, on August 14, 1939 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Their marriage was an example of love, devotion and fun. They were always a wonderful team, having worked for many years together at Pleasant Grove High School where Wayne taught Agricultural Science and Grace was the school secretary where she was loved and known by each and every student who attended the school. They retired together at age 65 and moved to Ogden in 1994. Wayne preceded her in death after 58 years of marriage. She was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many positions of responsibility. She was known by all in her sphere of influence for her wonderful bread, which she freely shared, and her beautiful handiwork, most notably, her hand-knit sweaters. She is survived by her son, Richard Wayne (Trish) Cornaby, and a daughter, Ruth Cornaby (Dr. Stephen) Thomson, seven grandchildren, Holly (Tim) Smith, Britt Thomson, Leslie (Dr. Lance) Bailey, Adrienne Thomson (deceased), Megan Thomson, Erin Weirsma, Mark (Nicole) Cornaby, and 10 great-grandchildren. No better mother or grandmother ever lived. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a granddaughter, Adrienne Thomson. Special thanks is given to all the staff at Crestwood Care Center. You loved Grace, and she loved and appreciated you and all you did for her. Your care was exceptional. Hansen, Leona Fannie Logsdon Leona Fannie Logsdon Hansen, age 100, passed away quietly on July 26, 2005. Leona was born at home in American Fork to Suzannah and Simon Peter Logsdon on September 17, 1904. She was the fourth child of six brothers and sisters whom all preceded her in death. She married Wayne Errol Hansen in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on January 16, 1924. They made their homes in Bingham Canyon and Copperton. After their retirement, they lived in American Fork to be nearer to their daughters. Wayne preceded her in death on January 29, 1989. She attended schools in American Fork and graduated from American Fork High School in 1922. Leona was a devoted member of the LDS Church. She served as a leader in the Sunday school program for many years and served in all the auxiliaries. During her later years she served in the Provo LDS temple with her husband. She was a faithful visiting teacher throughout her life. For many years she worked as the head of the alterations department in Auerbachs Department Store in Salt Lake City. Leona had an extraordinary talent with all types of sewing. During the depression years she made all of her familys clothing. She enjoyed making clothing, wedding dresses, shawls, rugs and crocheted items for family and friends up until six months before she died. Leona also loved to read all the days of her life. Leona is survived by her daughter Joyce (Don) Crump of Pleasant Grove. Her daughter Janice (Lowell) Gillman preceded her in death. She has eight grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 23 great-great grandchildren with five more on the way. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 30, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the Battlecreek East Building, 1250 East 200 South, Pleasant Grove. A viewing will be held on Friday, July 29, 2005 at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friends may call one hour prior to funeral services on Saturday. Jones, Ruby Hone Ruby Hone Jones Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother returned home to her Heavenly Father on July 25, 2005, in Payson. Ruby was born on June 4, 1919 to Carlisle Hone and Laura Caroline Lundell in Benjamin, Utah. She married her sweetheart, Elmer Wayne Jones on January 7, 1937 in Payson. The were sealed for time and eternity in the Manti Temple on July 22, 1960. Ruby grew up in Benjamin and Salt Lake attending schools in both areas. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many teaching positions and as a visiting teacher. She was an avid seamstress and worked as a seamstress for many companies. She worked as the Assistant Director of the Payson Senior Citizens for 31 years. The past 5 years she served meals at the Senior Citizen Center. She enjoyed having her family around and loved each one of them dearly. She loved to crochet and paint ceramics and enjoyed baking. Ruby spent her life serving others. She was very kindhearted and had many wonderful friends. Her family and friends will always remember her for her delicious potato salad, baked beans, popcorn balls, raisin cakes, and many cookies. She is survived by her six children: Larry (Claudia) Jones of Orem; Marjorie (Marvin) Crofts of American Fork; Patsy (LaVar) Engle of Payson; Ann (Terry) Hansen of Payson; Tim (Cindy) Jones of Gilbert, Arizona; Sherrie (Allen) Ewell of Payson; three half sisters: Shirley (Kenneth) Buckway, Merlene (Jack) Henefer and Maurine (Ben) Pierce all of Ogden; 27 grandchildren, 61 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sisters, three brothers, a half sister, one granddaughter and one great granddaughter. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 30, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. in the Payson Mountain View Stake Center, 75 South 600 East, Payson. A viewing will be held Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Holladay-Brown Funeral Home, 66 South 300 East, Santaquin; and at the Stake Center from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Ries, Cheryl Jayne Cheryl Jayne Ries Our loving daughter, sister, and aunt, Cheryl Jayne Ries, 42, of Palmyra, Utah, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 25, 2005 at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo. She was born July 7, 1963 in Fort Riley, Kansas to Darrell and DeeAnne Crump Ries. Cheryl graduated from Harrison High School in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and attended Pikes Peak Community College. She worked at various fast food restaurants and airport concessions. Most recently, she was employed at the Courtyard by Marriott as a housekeeper, and worked with the Mountainland Head Start School. She loved gardening and had her own garden. She enjoyed decorating cakes, collecting dolls and coins, working on crafts, and decorating for holidays. Cheryl especially loved animals. She always had to have a pet, and lovingly took care of many cats, dogs, and rabbits. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in the Primary teaching the Sunbeams. She also served in the Relief Society as Homemaking Counselor while living in the Singles Ward in Colorado. Cheryl is survived by her parents of Palmyra; brother, Russell Ries of Palmyra; sister, Cynthia (Antoine) Dubrey of Logan; nephew, Brandon Dubrey; niece, Karen Connors; and great-nephew, Colin Connors. Funeral services will be Friday, July 29, 2005 at 11 a.m. in the Palmyra Ward Chapel, 1866 West 5000 South. Friends may call on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Walker Family Mortuary, 187 South Main, Spanish Fork, and on Friday at the church from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services.
