Donald J. Bishop 1922 ~ 2005 Donald Jack Bishop was reunited with his bride, of 55 years, when he passed away June 8, 2005 of causes incident to age. Ole' Bish was born October 12, 1922 in Murray, Utah to Matthew John and Rebecca Birch Bishop. One of six children, he spent his growing years in Murray. He graduated from Murray High School and entered the US Navy serving in the Pacific as a radio operator on the submarine, USS Spearfish. His lifetime occupation was diesel mechanic. Don married Janis Hintze July 31, 1944 in Taylorsville. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Don and Janis lived in Murray until 1963 when they moved to Highland and Don pursued his dream of "farming". They raised six children teaching by example the value of service. Don served in many church callings; dance director, scouting, High Council and most recently as counselor in the Bishopric of the Developmental Center Ward which he enjoyed very much. Don and Janis served as temple workers in the Provo and Mount Timpanogos temples before and after serving a mission in Adam-Ondi-Ahman, Missouri. This 22-year temple commitment evidenced their example of service and love for the Gospel. May 10, 2002 Don married an angel here on earth, Nadine Hintze who brought him happiness and lovingly cared for him these past several months. Survived by his wife; brother, Robert (Carol) Bishop; sister, Patsy; six children, Dawna (Allan) Scheib, Sandy; Linda (Larry) Bloodworth, American Fork; Laurie (Craig) Sacco, Salem; Gayle (Blair) Hutchings, Lehi; Matthew (Andrea) Bishop, Alpine; Kenneth (Sharon) Bishop, Las Vegas, NV; 27 Grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren who love and will miss him dearly. Preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and two sisters. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 11, 2005, 11:00 a.m. in the Canyon View Ward, 10492 N. 4800 W. (Ole Bish Lane behind his home in Highland). A viewing will be held Friday, June 10, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and 9-10:30 am prior to the service at the same location. Carter, Kathleen Ellen Preator Kathleen Ellen Preator Carter Kathleen Ellen Preator Carter passed away June 6, 2005 in Chandler, Arizona. Kathy was born September 9, 1923 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Frederick and Adah Preator. She was raised in Logan, Utah where she attended school and graduated from Logan High School in 1940. On January 3, 1941 she married Jack Darrell Carter. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She continued her education and graduated from the Nursing Program at Weber State College and later received her Masters Degree in nursing from Boise State. She worked many years in the nursing profession. When living out of the country, she freely donated time serving as a volunteer in the local hospitals. Kathy was preceded in death by here husband, Jack, and is survived by her children, Margay Carter-Davies (Keith), Chandler, Arizona; Bruce F. Carter (Kathy), West Jordan, Utah; Celia Nase, Carson City, Nevada; 8 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Kathy and Jack were wonderful parents, grandparents and friends and deeply loved and appreciated by their children, grandchildren and all those they knew them. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 11, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the Holladay-Brown Funeral Home, 66 South 300 East, Santaquin, where friends may call one half hour prior to services. She was born April 26, 1918, in Goshen, UT, to Waldemar and Selma Johnson Jensen. She married June Cloy Davis Jan. 14, 1937, in the Salt Lake Temple. He passed away Jan. 10, 1992. She later married Francis E. Comer, he passed away Dec. 31, 1995. Orlynn was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting and reading. She took great pride in her yard and won yard of the month in Lehi. She worked in Lehi High School's school lunch for many years. She was an avid football and basketball fan and a menber of the Good Sam's Club and loved to travel. She belonged to the Ladies Club for over 65 years. She is survived by her daughter, De Anna (Raymond) Lloyd, Highland; 4 step-children, Jim Comer, Julie (Dane) Woods, Karen (Jay) Bullock, and Randy Comer; 3 grandchildren, Kathy Hills, American Fork, Kelly Wallgren, South Jordan, and Kim McMillen, Savannah, GA; 5 great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters, De Von Roberts, Lehi, and JoAnn (Phillip) Bailey, Ogden. She is preceded in death by her parents and 8 brothers and sisters. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 11, 2005, in theWing Mortuary Chapel, 118 E. Miller, Erma Burnett Erma Burnett Miller Our loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great Great Grandmother, Erma Burnett Miller, returned home to her Father in Heaven on June 7, 2005 at the age of 98. She is now reunited with her husband Arnold Franklin Miller and her daughter Shirley who preceded her in death. Erma was born Sept. 1, 1906 in Clinton, Utah to John Thomas Burnett and Lucy Hurst. She resided in Syracuse, Utah, Pocatello, Idaho, American Fork, Utah and recently Jericho Springs, Missouri. She was married to Arnold Franklin Miller on Dec 1, 1925 and later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. She was employed at the Hill Air Force Base Arsenal as an ordinance worker until she received a medical disability retirement. She is survived by her children: Audrey (Clay) Claybrook, Jericho Springs, Missouri; Neil (Bev) Miller, Reno, Nevada; Carma Wilson, Kissimmee, Florida; Steven (Linda) Miller, Payson, Utah and John (Pam) Miller, American Fork, Utah. She has 29 grandchildren, 104 great grandchildren and 30 great great grandchildren. Erma has been an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all her life and served in many capacities in the Relief Society, Cub Scouts and as a Blazer leader in the Primary. She has been a very active member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She always saw only the good in people and loved her children and grandchildren very much. Funeral services will be held at 11 pm Saturday June 11, 2005 at the American Fork 30th Ward Chapel located at 270 North 900 East in American Fork, Utah. There will be a viewing Friday evening from 6 to 8 pm at the Anderson & Sons Mortuary at 49 E 100 N in American Fork and at 9:45 am prior to the services. Poncho, our beloved husband father, and grandfather, age 74, returned home to Heavenly Father, parents, and loved ones on Wednesday June 8, 2005 He was born to Elmer Morgan and Annie Priscilla Roberts on April 23, 1931 at the family home 1705 South State in Provo. He graduated from Provo High School in 1950, served valiantly in the U.S. Navy from 1950 to 1945, received an associate's degree from Utah Technical College in refrigeration and electrical automation technology, and retired from Provo City Power after 31 years of dedicated service. He was sealed to his eternal companion Juanita Thomas on December 10, 1964 in the Salt Lake Temple. Glen loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his children, friends and grandchildren. He is now enjoying happier fishing and hunting grounds in his Heavenly Father's Kingdom. Glen loved serving others, particularly his children and grandchildren. He served as a Scoutmaster, volunteer baseball coach, and an all around master of everything from an electrician to a gardener. He had a big heart full of love for all those around him. He will be greatly missed by all. Glen loved to spend his time painting, gardening, watching boxing and sports on T.V., and participating in his rock and gem club activities. Glen loved to box and was nicknamed the "Windmill" in the Navy with a record of 4 wins 1 loss. He loved to argue politics with anyone who would indulge him. He was a man of many talents. He is preceded in death by his brother Dan Roberts and his daughter Odessa Smith. He is survived by his loving wife Juanita and his six children Sherrol Jean Smith, Morgan J. (Susan) Roberts, Robin G. (Juleah) Roberts, Ann Priscilla (Roger) Davis, Linda Marie Spotts, and Glenna May (Troy) Blackburn. Glen has 24 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Glen's Family would like to thank those at Vista Care in Provo for the loving care and kindness they showed him at home during his brief bout with acute leukemia. We also would like to thank those who showed their love and concern during his illness. Funeral services will be held Saturday June 11, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sunset 3rd Ward Chapel, 1100 West 1020 South in Provo, Utah. Family and beloved friends may attend a friends calling on Friday, evening from 6-8 p.m. at Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 East Center Street, as well as Saturday morning 9:30 to 10:45 at the Church.
