Donald J. Bishop 1922 ~ 2005 Donald Jack Bishop was reunited with his bride, of 55 years, when he passed away June 8, 2005 of causes incident to age. Ole' Bish was born October 12, 1922 in Murray, Utah to Matthew John and Rebecca Birch Bishop. One of six children, he spent his growing years in Murray. He graduated from Murray High School and entered the US Navy serving in the Pacific as a radio operator on the submarine, USS Spearfish. His lifetime occupation was diesel mechanic. Don married Janis Hintze July 31, 1944 in Taylorsville. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Don and Janis lived in Murray until 1963 when they moved to Highland and Don pursued his dream of "farming". They raised six children teaching by example the value of service. Don served in many church callings; dance director, scouting, High Council and most recently as counselor in the Bishopric of the Developmental Center Ward which he enjoyed very much. Don and Janis served as temple workers in the Provo and Mount Timpanogos temples before and after serving a mission in Adam-Ondi-Ahman, Missouri. This 22-year temple commitment evidenced their example of service and love for the Gospel. May 10, 2002 Don married an angel here on earth, Nadine Hintze who brought him happiness and lovingly cared for him these past several months. Survived by his wife; brother, Robert (Carol) Bishop; sister, Patsy; six children, Dawna (Allan) Scheib, Sandy; Linda (Larry) Bloodworth, American Fork; Laurie (Craig) Sacco, Salem; Gayle (Blair) Hutchings, Lehi; Matthew (Andrea) Bishop, Alpine; Kenneth (Sharon) Bishop, Las Vegas, NV; 27 Grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren who love and will miss him dearly. Preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and two sisters. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 11, 2005, 11:00 a.m. in the Canyon View Ward, 10492 N. 4800 W. (Ole Bish Lane behind his home in Highland). A viewing will be held Friday, June 10, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and 9-10:30 am prior to the service at the same location. Hardy, Donna June Lunceford Donna June Lunceford Hardy June Lunceford Hardy, 82, of Orem lost her battle with Parkinson's Disease Wednesday, June 8, 2005. June was born on June 1, 1923 in Orem, Utah to George and Hatie Hales Lunceford. She married Dix Hardy in Elko, Nevada on December 4, 1948. June loved to work hard, help others, and found joy in giving service to others. Her family always came first in her life. She enjoyed spoiling her children and later her grandchildren. She loved to shop and was the best bargain hunter in the world! She was also a devoted homemaker. June had a great sense of humor and was not above pulling off a prank on co-workers and friends. She worked for many years as a the Head Checker for Fred Meyer. June is survived by her husband Dix Hardy of Orem, a daughter, Dixie Oyler and a son Terry Hardy both of Salt Lake City, Utah, 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson on the way, and a brother, Wayne J. (Gloria) Lunceford of Orem. She was preceded in death by her two sons Gail Hardy and Greg Hardy, and three brothers, Don, Ken, and Gerald Lunceford. The family would like to thank the staff at Golden Living Center and Odyssey Hospice for the loving care that was given to June. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 13, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the Cascade Chapel at Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State Street in Orem. Huntley, Darrick Allen Darrick Allen Huntley (Kessler) Darrick Allen Huntley, 25, of Orem, died June 7, 2005 at his home. He was born December 3, 1979, son of Susan Canova Kessler and Randy Kessler and Darrell Franklin Huntley Jr. in Whittier, California. Husband to Haddie Orelia Howard of Benjamin, Utah who will always love and miss him. Darrick loved music and enjoyed playing his guitar, he also had a great singing voice. In his younger years he was a great baseball player who took his little league team to place second in region, he was the star pitcher. Darrick had a wonderful sense of humor and could always put a smile on your face, he had a big heart and wanted to help anyone he could. Survivors include his wife, Haddie Huntley, his daughter Madelyn and also his daughter Danica from a previous marriage to Maria Bertola Gibson, his mother Susan (Randy) Kessler, father Darrell (Linda) Huntley. He is also survived by his siblings, Paulette (John) Green, Jason (Karlin) Kessler, Suzanne Kessler, Jeffrey (Summer) Kessler, Viviane Kessler, Brandon Kessler, Sarah Kessler, and Heather Huntley, he is the oldest grandson of George and Norma Canova, Carl and Dorothy Dewan, and Lila Huntley. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Darrell Franklin Huntley Sr. He will be missed and loved by all. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 11, 2005, at 1:00 p.m. in the Sunset Heights 4th Ward Chapel, 500 South 600 West in Orem. Friends and family may call Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State Street in Orem and also Saturday from 11:45 to 12:45 p.m. at the ward chapel. Stromberg, Ellen Genevieve Ellen Genevieve Knox McGee Stromberg Our wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and dear friend Ellen Genevieve Knox McGee Stromberg, age 90, of Lehi, Utah, passed away peacefully June 9, 2005 to return home to our loving Heavenly Father, causes incident of age. She was born February 15, 1915 in Washington, Iowa, to Sherman William Knox and Kathryn Goeldner. She was the third child of 7 children. She was raised on a farm. She married Elton McGee June 10, 1939 and they later divorced. Then she married Ferdnand Stromberg August 19, 1956. After nine years, she has been reunited with her sweetheart. Following her graduation from Washington High School in 1935, the family moved down to the bay area where they made their home. She worked at an ice cream parlor and she worked in the cafeteria as an assistant in a elementary school for years and then she worked in a drug store as a clerk in San Leandro for many years up until retirement. She and Dad (Ferd) would go to a special lodge for the weekends to spend time together. Her favorite job was being a mother, grandmother and friend. She loved to bake goodies and take them to her friends and loved ones. She loved to take her grandchildren to the zoo and have picnics and she would always stop the ice cream man when we were at the park. She was loved by all who knew her. She was a very kind person who would do anything for you. Ellen's passions were watching football and baseball and any other sport she could watch. She had a special love for cooking and reading. Grandma always made time for her grandchildren. She loved animals, especially cats. Grandma was very supportive to her family and had a wonderful sense of humor. As a young girl she went to the Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by 2 parents, 3 brothers and 3 sisters, 1 grandson, 2 husbands and 1 son. Ellen is survived by 1 son Larry (Gail) McGee, back East and 1 daughter Diane Wengreen of Lehi, Utah, 10 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. Special thanks is extended to Hospice and the Greenwood Manor for the loving care of our Mother and Grandmother. Graveside services will be Tuesday, June 14, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at the Lehi City Cemetery, 1100 N. 400 E. Friends and family may call at the Wing Mortuary, 118 E.
