She was born on March 11, 1917 in Park City, Utah, daughter of Daniel Hyrum Bates Sr. and Mary Ellen Skinner. Ardella married Frank Dean Knight in Provo, Utah, June 2, 1932. They were later divorced. One daughter, Dorothy Lee, was born to this union. She passed away at the age of 13 months, and was buried in Mohave, California. Ardella married Dean Beck on January 11, 1969. He passed away January 12, 2000. Dean and Ardella lived in Mapleton, Utah until 1994. They then moved to the Logan Care Center, Logan, UT. Ardella continued living there until the time of her death. Ardella is survived by a sister, Dorothy (Robert) Holmes, West Haven and a brother, Melvin (Gladys) Bates, Magna. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Dorothy Lee, her husband Frank, her husband Dean, her parents, four sisters and two brothers. Her family will meet friends at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E. 200 S. in Springville, UT on Friday, June 17, 2005 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Graveside services will follow at 1 p.m. in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery. Brown, 82, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away peacefully and surrounded by his famly on June 11, 2005. He was born on July 20, 1922 to Benjamin W. Brown and Ruby J. Singleton in American Fork, Utah. He was educated in American Fork and married married his high school sweetheart, Rhea Bliss Holindrake on June 23, 1943 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. During his high school years he was a member of the FFA and enjoyed raising and showing his championship livestock at the State Fairs and Ogden Livestock shows. During the summer, he worked on his uncle's ranch in Nevada. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with his family. Some of his other interests include gardening and traveling. Orval worked for Keith Jacob's Feed Mill in Manila for 23 years and then retired after working at the Utah State Developmental Center for 13 years. Orval served as the secretary/treasurer for the Elders Quorum in his ward and as a High Priest. They have lived in American Fork since 1949. He is survived by his wife, Rhea, and two daughters, Patricia (Dick) Terkelson of Ogden, Utah; Dixie (Vern) Conder of Orem, Utah; 5 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and sister Carma Millar, Pleasant Grove. Preceded in death by his parents, sister, Barbara Carson and an infant grandson, Adam Vern Conder. Friends may call at Anderson & Sons Mortuary at 49 E 100 N in American Fork, Sunday evening June 19, 2005 from 6 to 8 pm and Monday, June 20, 2005 at the American Fork 32nd Ward, American Fork East Stake LDS church at 270 N 900 E one hour prior to the funeral services which will be held at 11 am. Interment, American Fork Cemetery. Published in the Daily Herald on 6/16/2005. Elkins, Tony W. Tony W. Elkins Our beloved son, brother and loving uncle, Tony W. Elkins, 36, passed away June 11, 2005 in Provo, Utah. He was born February 24, 1969 in Provo to Ralph and Rhea Elkins. Tony loved cutting hair for friends and family. He had a love for camping and was the instigator of many water fights. He is survived by his mother Rhea Elkins Coombs and stepfather, David Coombs; three brothers, Kevin (Pam) Elkins, Todd (Pamela) Elkins, Jared (Christine) Elkins; six sisters, Nancy (Gary) Adams, Deborah (James) Maynard, Carrie (Tom) Cherrington, Pam (Reed) Cowan, Peggy (Sam) Ostler, Stacy (Chris) Barnier; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Ralph Elkins. A memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 17, 2005 at the Hillcrest 3rd Ward, 1450 South 800 East in Orem.
