He married Lillian Christensen on Nov. 5, 1943 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Noal graduated from Provo High School in 1936 and Brigham Young University in 1940. He later earned his Masters Degree in Library Science from Purdue University. He worked as a media coordinator, educator and librarian for 37 years in the Provo School District. In 1983 he was the Freedom Award Recipient for "Outstanding Educator" in Provo. As a teacher he encouraged students, particularly in science, history, and hobbies. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many callings throughout his life. In 1941-43 he served a mission to Northern California. One of his last callings was that of a temple worker in the Provo Temple. His faith and testimony served as an inspiring example to those around him. During World War II, he was stationed for a year in the South Pacific, mostly on the small island of Funafuti. In 1945, after living in San Francisco for a year, Noal, Lillian, and their son Ronald returned to Provo where Noal began teaching in elementary school. They resided in the Provo Third Ward for 46 years. Noal had many hobbies and interests during his lifetime including amateur radio (W7PWH), music, and photography. In addition to teaching, he and Lillian worked for many years as news photographers for KCPX, Channel 4, and also filming advertisements for KSL-TV, Channel 5. Noal's friends and family will dearly miss him. He was a wonderful father and husband.
