She was born April 3, 1930 in Neola, Utah to Marguerite Crozier and Harold Alva Baxter. Lilith married Duane (Skinner) Peterson, Dec. 29, 1948 in Ely, Nevada. Later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. She is survived by her loving family: husband, Duane; children, Lloyd (Kim) Peterson, Leslie (Carol) Peterson, Debra (Floyd) Strasburg, and Gregg (Susan) Peterson; brothers, David and H. Adair; sisters, Vivien, Faith, Kay, and Earldean; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Bruce and Brent. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 7, 2005 at 11:00 am. in the Lehi North Stake Center, 2200 N. 1200 E. Friends may call Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Wing Mortuary, 118 E. Stubbs, William Stanford William Stanford Stubbs, 80, teacher, educator, and father, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2005 in Orem, Utah. He was born June 11, 1924 in Storrs (Spring Canyon), Carbon County, Utah to Donald H Stubbs and Roxy Myrl Hansen Stubbs. He had been struggling with Parkinson's disease for many years. Stanford was third in a family of five. He was reared in Provo, and graduated from Provo High School. He was a veteran of the US Navy Air Corps and was trained in aerial reconnaissance photography just at the end of World War II. While stationed in the San Francisco Bay area, he met and fell in love with a local girl, Marilynn Scharman. They were married September 8, 1946 in Berkeley, California and their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Their union was blessed with three children Dennis Dean, Carrie (Gay), and Stanford Todd. Stanford earned a bachelor's degree in physics and a Master's of Education from BYU. He served as a high school teacher in Delta, Utah for four years, as a teacher and school counselor at Lincoln High School and Jr High School in Orem for 10 years; and as a district administrator and psychologist for Alpine School District for 24 years. Stanford was a member of the Utah School Psychologists Association, the Utah School Counselors Association, and Phi Delta Kappa, an educational honor society. He was also a founding member and board member of the Alpine Credit Union. After retirement from Alpine School District Stanford and Marilynn traveled to such far flung places as Alaska's glaciers, the Fiji islands, the fiords of Norway, and the Panama Canal. They also served as service missionaries at the MTC on "new missionary" Wednesdays for several years. Stanford was very active in scouting; he served as a scoutmaster for many years and helped many, many scouts earn their Eagle awards. Most of those young men went on to serve missions across the world. He also served as a Young Men's President, and as an Executive Secretary for five different bishoprics. Stanford is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marilynn; a daughter, Carrie Alldredge and her husband Russ of Pleasant Grove; a son, Todd Stubbs and his wife Joy of Orem; a daughter-in-law Sharon Fritsche of Ogden; 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Don Stubbs and his wife Norma, of Ogden, and Eugene Stubbs and his wife Joan, of Lehi; and two sisters: Virginia Crandall and her husband John, of Orem, and Marilyn Warburton and her husband Dale, of Pleasant Grove. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, and son, Dean. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 5, 2005 at 11:00 am at the Orem Sharon 1st LDS Ward Building, 641 South 400 East, Orem. Friends may call at the Walker-Sanderson Mortuary Friday evening from 6 - 8 pm, or at the church Saturday morning 9:30 - 10:30 am, prior to services. Interment will be at the Orem City Cemetery. Syme, Nola Warthen "Janice" Nola "Janice" Warthen Syme St. George, Utah, 91, passed away March 1, 2005, at her home. She was born January 14, 1914, in Leeton, Utah, to James Alfred and Ruth Bowen Warthen. She married George Leslie Syme on June 13, 1930, in Provo, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. She attended school in Leeton, Utah, grade 1 thru 3. Janice went the full year in grade 1, but grades 2 and 3 were interrupted by the Flu Epidemic and Small Pox Scare, that ended the 3rd grade. She was allowed into the 4th grade in Springville, Utah because she could read so well. She attended the 5th grade in Spanish Fork and started High School in Spanish Fork. She finished her High School education through the Adult Education Program at Provo High School, graduating in 1953. She lived in Provo, Utah from 1930 to 1991, then moved to St. George, Utah in 1991 and lived there until 2005. She enjoyed reading, gardening, dancing, cooking, and homemaking skills. Janice was preceded in death by her husband George Leslie Syme, and a daughter Shirlee Sheets. She is survived by her children, Georgia J. Syme, St. George, Ut, John L. Syme (Joan Williams) Provo, Ut, Elmo J. Syme (JoAnn Saxey) St. George, Ut, Eileen Horton (Roger) Santa Barbara, CA, Hugh W. Syme (Kathryn Davis) Jerome, Id, 22 Grandchildren, 42 Great-Grandchildren, 4 GreatGreat Grandchildren. A viewing will be held at Heideman Mortuary at 170 S. Mall Dr. St. George, at 6:00 p.m. Friday March 4, 2005. And a viewing the following day at Berg Mortuary at 185 E. Center Street in Provo, Utah at 1:00 on Saturday March 5, 2005.
