He was born July 26, 1923 in Lake Shore, Utah, to Heber and Hattie Clayson. He was one of fourteen children. He served as a paratrooper during World War II and was a retired farmer and heavy equipment operator. He is survived by four children; Edward "Rex" Clayson, of Diamondville, Wyoming; Vickie Barton, of Henderson; Charmaine De Munda of Henderson; Patricia Stevens of Henderson; He is also survived by his sisters Clara Smith and Joyce Lewis from Spanish Fork, Utah; and brothers Earl Clayson, Sam Clayson, Keith Clayson from Spanish Fork, Utah and Frank Clayson from Idaho and Hawaii. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He will be remembered for his kind heart, his love for animals, his great sense of humor and will be greatly missed by his entire family. The family will hold private services. He was born December 29, 1953 in Spanish Fork, Utah to Arthur Wayne and Bula Montague. He was married to Sherry Archuleta and later divorced. They had one child, Daniel who preceded him in death on June 24, 2003. He then married the love of his life, Debra Slanec Loveless, who also preceded him in death on August 13, 2003. Wayne grew up and attended school in Spanish Fork, graduating in 1972. Wayne also attended Trade Tech. He served our country in the U.S. Navy. Wayne was a hard worker, and was proficient in operating equipment. He loved to golf, fish, and enjoyed all sports. He will be welcomed by Debbie and his son, Daniel, his golfing and fishing buddy. He will be greatly missed by his friends and surviving family: mother, Bula; stepdaughter, Cassie Bird; brothers and sisters, Phyllis (Gary) Golden, Bud (Valerie) Ludvigson, Earl Ludvigson, Leslie (Donna) Ludvigson, Jessie Mounteer, Loraine (Carl) Allen, and Janice (Sam) Bingham; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Monday, March 14, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Spanish Fork 3rd Ward Chapel, 360 North 650 West. Morrill, Carol Lee Price Carol Lee Price Morrill Carol Lee Price Morrill, 64, of Lehi returned home to her Heavenly Father on Thursday, March 10, 2005, after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Lehi on February 15, 1941 to Leland G. Price and Ruth Taylor. Carol grew up in Lehi, graduating from Lehi High School in 1959. After graduating, she completed a course in cosmetology at Mary's College of Beauty. She married Shirl Wayne Morrill, May 19, 1960 in Salt Lake Temple. They made their first home in Lehi, where they raised their three children. Carol was a faithful and dedicated member of the LDS Church, where she filled many positions. Her favorite calling was ward chorister. Carol enjoyed serving others and always had a kind word to share with those she came in contact with. Carol's greatest love of her life was her husband and nurturing her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved decorating and remodeling her home with her husband, and spending time outside in her yard and garden. She is survived by her husband, Shirl; and her three children, Suzanne (Paul) Rowley of Lehi; Michael (Jeneil) Morrill of American Fork; and Brent (Audrey) Morrill of American Fork; 9 grandchildren, Jeffrey, Scott, and Jessica Rowley; Makell, Monica, and Jayce Morrill; Madison, Brandon, Trevor Morrill; her mother, Ruth Price; three brothers, Ralph, Brian, and Richard Price; and a sister Joan Larson. She was preceded in death by her father Leland G. Price, a sister Renee Stewart, and a nephew James Stewart. Funeral services will be Monday, March 14, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the Cedar Hollow 1st Ward Chapel, 1020 E. 1900 N, Lehi. Newman, William William Newman May 27, 1930 March 10, 2005 A great soul has just been taken home to that God who gave him life. His name: William Albert Newman, son of Robert Howell and Irene Esther Clark Newman. He cherished his wife, June, with a love that knew no boundaries. He was a great father, loving, teaching, and guiding. His children: Ronald T. Newman (deceased); Melody, wife of Dave Gonzales; Paul, Husband of Kathy Poulson; Jeanine, wife of David Brown; Kenneth, husband of Norma Griffin; and Bruce, companion of Jim Johnson. This great man served his God and his fellowman all the days of his life. He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren and teased them joyfully. That horrible monster, cancer, has taken his life, but just for a moment. As he entered his Father's presence, we are confident that we heard these words, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant. Enter into my rest and sit down on my throne." We will remember him with great love. Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the Lehi North Stake Center, 2200 N 1200 E. Richmond, Ruth Ruth Richmond May 23rd, 1928-March 10th, 2005 "I shall never be very far from my mountain home in the beautiful valley of my birth. To my children, who have brought sublime joy and honor to my life, I will love you- always." Ruth Richmond was born on May 23rd, 1928 and received a call to another mission in the next life on March 10th, 2005. She and her twin sister, Renee, were born to Pernoma Jolley Richmond (deceased) and Orson Wells Richmond (deceased) of Provo, Utah. She had five siblings: Elaine Richmond Marchent (deceased), Donal Richmond (deceased), Joseph Loftus Richmond of Riverside, California, Renee Richmond Neilsen (deceased), and Orson Kay Richmond of Sandy, Utah. She graduated from Provo High School in 1946, and attended BYU, where she studied Sociology with an emphasis in Handicapped Children. She is the mother of six children: Valeri Benson Purkiss (married to Jim Purkiss, deceased), R. Shawn Benson, Jacen B. Benson (married to Annette Jex Benson), Natalie Benson Park (married to Brad Park), Bryn Benson Shepherd (married to Morris Shepherd) and Nathan Wells Benson (married to Sharalen Jensen Benson). She was blessed with twenty-one grandchildren and one great-grandson. Ruth loved people. She always felt like she had a calling that directed her life to helping and serving others. She also loved sports of all kinds from an early age, particularly basketball and football. She was a devoted BYU and Utah Jazz fan. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served two full-time missions (Hawaii and Argentina), and two stake missions. She loved missionary work, and called her years of service "some of the best times of her life." She loved the people that she served. Ruth was a member of the Tamiris Club, and enjoyed the friendship of the other members, many of whom where lifelong friends. She was an active member of the Utah County Republican Party; and served as District Chairman and Judge of Election, and ran for a seat in the State Legislature. Ruth worked at the BYU Alumni House, and at project Reality as a drug rehabilitation coordinator for 22 years, and retired from the Utah State Prison as a certified correctional supervisor. She was the source of strength for many throughout her life. There will be a viewing at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State Street in Orem, on Sunday, March 13th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 14th at 11:00am at the Cherry Hill First Ward located at 1700 S. 400 E. in Orem. There will be a viewing an hour before the funeral at the ward chapel. Thompson, Geraldine Barney Geraldine Barney Thompson (Jerry) Geraldine Barney Thompson (Jerry) was called home Thursday, March 10, 2005, by her Heavenly Father, after faithfully fulfilling her journey here on earth. She was welcomed home by her loving husband, Donald, and by her parents. Jerry was born May 14, 1938, in Provo, Utah, to Alma M. Barney and Merline Stradling Barney. Jerry married Joseph Donald Thompson on March 31, 1972. They were sealed for time and eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on October 25, 1975. Jerry enjoyed working at the Provo Travelodge for many years, and later retired from BYU Custodial Services. Jerry found happiness in the simple things in life, such as walks down by the river and listening to The Bluegrass Show on Sunday afternoons. She enjoyed collecting clowns and rocks. Jerry's greatest joy in life was her family, especially her four grandchildren. She blessed the lives of all who knew her with her unforgettable sweetness. Jerry is survived by her daughter, Eugenia (Ken) Burnette; a brother, Eugene "Bud" (Marian) Barney; a sister, Jolene (Dick) VanAusdale; a brother, Merlin (Gail) Barney; a sister, Marcia (Steve) MCaffee; and by her four grandchildren, Katie, Dyllon, Cameron, and William; several nieces and nephews; and by a very dear friend, Nancy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Donald Thompson, her parents, Alma M. and Merline Barney, and by a sister, Catherine E. Barney. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 14, 2005, at 2:00 p.m., in the Berg Drawing Room Chapel, 185 East Center Street, Provo. Thompson, Susan Grace Susan Grace Thompson Susan Grace Thompson, passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2005. She was born Sep. 16, 1940 in Winfield, Ala., the daughter of Murray Edward Perry & Lenore Loesch. Sue spent most of her childhhood in Grants Pass, Oregon. In Sep. 1958 she married Norman D. Sease. They were parents of two daughters and later divorced. In 1976, Sue married Harold Robert Thompson, who survives. Sue made a career in banking & finance until 1976. A few years later, she returned to school & completed an undergraduate degree in studio art. After her husband retired, they moved to Provo, Utah where she completed a master's degree in Art History. She has worked at the BYU Museum of Art since 1996. A convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Sue served in many callings through the years including Stake Primary President, Stake Sunday School Secretary, various Relief Society Stake & Ward Assignments & Sunday School teaching assignments. Sue is preceded in death by both parents. In addition to her husband, Sue is survived by two daughters: Kimberly Ann Saupan & husband Ben of Blackfoot, Idaho; and Heidi Lynn Rice & husband George of Petersburg, Alaska. She is also survived by the son's of her second husband: Donald Bruce Thompson & wife Karen of Salem, Oregon; and Brian Craig Thompson & wife Jan of Fullerton, California. In addition, she is survived by eleven grandchildren & seven great-grandchildren, two brothers: Bruce Edward Perry & wife Bonnie Jean of Selma, Oregon & Fred Alan Perry of Veneta, Oregon as well as nieces and nephews. Services will be held at the Grandview 9th Ward Chapel, 1555 N 1350 W. Provo, Utah at 10:00 am. Saturday, March 12, 2005.
