She was born on the family farm in Cardston, Alberta, Canada on September 9, 1913 to Anna Nellie Nielsen and John Albert Johansen. At the age of eight she was baptized a member of the LDS Church in an irrigation canal on her beloved Canadian prairie. She remained a faithful member of the church with a strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout her life. She married Harold Yates Anderson in July of 1942 in the Manti Temple. Harold died in February 1996. Anna graduated from Brigham Young University in 1941 with a degree in textiles. She taught home economics at high schools from Salt Lake City to Richfield and enjoyed years of employment with McCalls doing pattern demonstrations. Mom also had a passion for petit point. The gifts of her hands will be treasured for generations to come. She received her favorite calling in the church at the age of 65 when she was called to be the Stake Young Women's President. She served faithfully in all the church auxiliaries and enjoyed her years as a temple worker in the Provo Temple. Her love and concern while mentoring and nurturing a long succession of nieces and nephews attending Brigham Young University has been repaid by countless acts of kindness by the cousins during these last years of her life. For their love and compassion we are truly grateful. She is survived by her son, Wayne Anderson (Beth) of American Fork and daughter, Barbara (Jon) Parsons of Mechanicsville, Virginia. She enjoyed a sweet association with her eight surviving grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She is survived by one sister, Verl Lambert of Provo.
