Levon M. Hanson 1909~2005 NEPHI / Levon M. Hanson, age 95, passed away April 30, 2005, in Nephi, Utah. He was born June 6, 1909, in Emery, Utah, to Emil and Elizabeth Ann Anderson Hanson. He married Laura Glynn Taylor on June 22, 1938, in the Manti Temple. She passed away December 5, 1960. He married Beth Blackett on December 11, 1971, in the Manti Temple. She passed away June 26, 1994. He served a mission for the LDS Church and was a faithful temple worker for many years. He was an avid reader of religious books. He loved the gospel and roses. Survived by his daughters, Claudia (Robert) Christensen of Richmond, UT; Koa (Jack) Hansen of Orem; step-daughters, Marilyn R. Kendall and Nanette Barrett; brother, Faye Hanson of Murray; 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by a son, Russell Don Hanson; step-son, Jeff Rosquist; four brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 4, 2005, in the Nephi 5th Ward, 345 E. 500 North. Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be in the Nephi Vine Bluff Cemetery. Published in the Daily Herald on 5/1/2005. Jones, Vonda Park Vonda Park Jones Vonda Park Jones, age 81, passed away April 29, 2005, in Orem, Utah. She was born in Provo, Utah, February 18, 1924, to John Samuel "Don" Park and Luise Maria "Mary" Hahn. She attended Provo High School. She married Ira James Jones, July 15, 1942. She was an excellent homemaker; an excellent sewer, quilter, and knitter. Vonda loved gardening and spent many hours in her yard. She will be remembered lovingly by her posterity, because she was a caring and loving friend, mother, and wife. She is survived by her children: Rodney (Linda) Jones, Brigham City; Eddie (Chris) Jones, Brigham City; Ricky (Annette) Jones, Brigham City; and Becky (Terry) Smith, Provo. Also survived by her brother, Harold (Barbara) Park, Orem; her twin sister, Verda (Lynn) Wright, Provo; 20 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Vonda was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters: Phylliss Park, Elaine Best, Donna Park, Raynor Hatfield, Estella Smith; and a brother, Raymond Park. Searle passed away April 28, 2005, at her home, due to incidence of age. Meredith was born July 24, 1919, in Leamington, Utah, to Wells A. and Emily D. Nielson. She lost her mother and two brothers, Don and Ray, at a very early age. She married Sidney S. Searle on November 7, 1939, in Salt Lake City. The marriage was solemnized in the Provo Temple on November 7, 1977. Meredith loved crocheting, reading, camping and fishing, spending time exercising at the Orem recreation center with long time friends, Orem Women's Club, and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by four children: Deon (Wayne) Briggs, Michael (Grena) Searle, Sydell Searle, and Suzette (Steve) Smith, 17 grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; brother, Earl (Bus) Nielson, and many friends and loved ones. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Troutman, Robert Nathan Robert Nathan Troutman (Bobby #7) Our beloved husband, father, son, uncle, nephew, grandson, and friend to all, returned home to the arms of our loving Heavenly Father on April 28, 2005. Born on November 19, 1976, to Frank and Debbie Troutman. He grew up in Nevada, California, and Utah. Bobby and his best friend and little brother were avid fishermen who constantly were in search of their next big trout. Bobby is survived by his sweetheart, Ashley, the love of his life; his two daughters: Taige (Duck), and Quincey (Turtle); along with his siblings: Ponch (Erica), Kellie, Lana, Kimberly, Katie (Mark), and Mikey (Lindsey); grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. William Shaw; many nieces and nephews; and numerous family members. Bobby and Ashley were wed November 20, 2004, and his devotion to Ashley was, and is, un-measureable. Bobby continually showed his undeniable love to Ashley, as if tomorrow would never come. He loved to spend as much time spoiling his daughters in every manner imaginable, especially fishing. Bobby enjoyed nothing more than quality time with his family. Bobby, you will always be remembered for your love of live, and your welcoming smile. Vogel, Arnold Albert Arnold Albert Vogel 1906-2005 Arnold Albert Vogel, age 98, passed away on April 28, 2005 in Salt Lake City. Born to Eberhard H. and Minnie L. Vogel on September 20, 1906. He married Lula May Freeman. Arnold spent his adult life in Southern California and for the last 18 years lived with his son Rod and daughter-in-law Pauline Vogel. He is survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be remembered for his generosity. He shared his meager resources freely with family and friends. He loved his family unconditionally. "It takes a tough guy to live to be 98 years old." Our family would like to thank Gayle Patterson of IHC home health care and Dr. Mark Rada for their compassionate service and neighbors Glen and Linda Reich for Christian service above and beyond the call. Published in the Daily Herald from 4/30/2005 - 5/1/2005. Whites, Kenneth G. (Turk) Kenneth (Turk) G. Whites "Together Again" Beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Kenneth (Turk) G. Whites, 88, of Lindon, Utah, formerly of Rolla, MO, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2005. He was born at home in Rolla, Missouri, on November 12, 1916, to William and Jennie Williams Whites. He graduated from Rolla High School and attended MSM, where he was active in sports. He married his sweetheart, Julia Jones, on July 5, 1940. Turk was a postal worker for the U.S. Post Office in Rolla for 30 years. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II in the Philippines and Japan. He loved fly-fishing at Meremec Springs, and both deer and turkey hunting in his much-loved Missouri hills. He was a great cook and loved sharing his creations. He was very artistic, creating rugs and wall hangings from carpet scraps, doing taxidermy & tying flies. He took pride in his vegetable garden and his yard. He was a good and honest man that always stood up for the right. In December of 1999, he was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Survivors include his daughter, Judy (Kent) Peay, Lindon, daughter-in-law, Kathleen Whites, West Jordan, both of Utah; grandchildren, Jeff (Karon) Peay, Australia; Daniele (Chris) Shurtleff, West Jordan, Utah; Lisa (Steve) Sorensen, Orem, Utah; Jennie (Jamie) Elder, Mason, Illinois; Stephanie (Joe) Jackson, Salem, Utah; Kristy (Travis) Webb, Orem, Utah; Scott Whites, Farmington, Utah; Tony Whites, Salt Lake City, Utah; Richard (Kristie) Whites, Eagle Mountain, Utah; Matthew Whites, West Jordan, Utah; Meggin (Kenny) Browning, Farmington, Utah; Steven Whites, West Jordan, Utah; and 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife; and son, Kenneth L. Whites. The family would like to thank the staff of Orchard Care Center for their kind and loving care of Turk this past month. Wright 1927-2005 Bob Wright passed away on April 9, 2005 with his wife Jane near by. At age 78, a sudden heart attack took him while wintering in Yuma, AZ. Bob was born in Riverside, CA. He loved music, sports and books all of his life. He always had a warm friendly smile and handshake for everyone and loved to visit. Bob loved and served his country for many years in the Merchant Marine, Air Force, and later as a civilian employed by the Navy. He served in WWII, Korea, and Viet Nam Wars. The latter part of his Air Force career, from which he retired, was spent in Wash. DC at the Pentagon. Bob is survived by his wife Jane, sons Tony and Steve Wright and daughters Nancy and Christine Wright, and grandchildren.
