Wayne was born November 14, 1916 in Springville, Utah, the oldest of 5 children born to Hyrum Lester and LaPreal Harrington Evans. He married Elma Patrick Evans on August 17, 1945 in Salt Lake City. The marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on February 17, 1955. They are the parents to 4 children, Diane, Lynn, Karen, and James. Wayne attended school in Springville, graduating from Springville High School in 1935, living his entire 88 years in Springville. Clyde Construction Company as a carpenter and a cement mason. He was a hard worker and handyman, teaching his children from a young age the accomplishment of hard work. Wayne began work on the family home by purchasing one of the barracks of the internment camp from WWII in Topaz, Utah. He spent many summer days with his family in the boat on Utah Lake teaching his children to water ski or just sightseeing, speeding around the Lake. He loved to fish at Strawberry Reservoir, and in recent years at Schofield. Wayne was an avid reader, reading the newspaper daily, along with many religious books. He followed politics and always voted. He was a man not afraid to speak his mind for what he believed, and was not easily swayed by others' opinions. He was the Employment Specialist in his Ward and a Home Teacher, until his legs became too weak for him to do much walking. He loved his family dearly, always having provided for their needs. And we, his family loved him for the love and upbringing he provided us. We will truly miss him. Wayne is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elma P.
