He was born January 22, 1943 in Provo to Edward B. Lovell and Lois Greenland who later married Edgar Kearley and raised Raymond as his own. He was a life-long resident of the Utah Valley area with the exception his three years of service in the U. S. Army from 1961-64. He married LaRae Johnson of Lindon on July 16, 1965 and was later divorced. Ray was a valued employee of Mt. States Steel for 38 years as a shipping clerk and crane/forklift operator. He will be remembered for his love of the mountains, four-wheeling, and his rusty old gray Chevy truck known as "Old Effie". He was deeply loved and always treasured and will be sorely missed by all. He is survived by five children: Terri (Bart) Middleton and Glenda (Don) Moore both of Florence, OR; Troy Lovell, Logan; RaNae (Lance) Scott, Lindon; Kelley (Chester) Harbert, Austin, TX; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; siblings: June Sumter, Lucile Marchbanks, Sharon Brimhall, Edgar Kearley Jr. and long-time companion, Cecelia Needles. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Irene Greaves and Carol Ann Fullmer. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 28, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. in the Olpin Family Mortuary Chapel, 494 South 300 East, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Oldham, Nelda VanDyke Nelda VanDyke Oldham Our dear mother and grandmother, Nelda Lucille VanDyke Oldham, 86, of Covered Bridge Canyon, Utah, passed away surrounded by her family on Monday, 23 May 2005 in the home of her daughter. She was born 14 May 1919 in Trenton, Utah to Don Carlos and Lucille Juno Dunbar VanDyke. She married her sweetheart, Albert Ernest Oldham, on 15 October 1943 in the Logan LDS Temple. After 11 years she is reunited with her sweetheart. Nelda graduated from Utah State University with a degree in Elementary Education. She taught elementary school and worked with the family business, "Oldham Associates". Her favorite job, however, was being a Mom and Grandma. She was an active member of the Utah County Republican Women. Her family was voted "Family of the Year" in 1987 by the Utah Association of Women. Nelda loved being with her family. She spent many hours researching genealogy and doing temple work. She also loved growing flowers and working in her garden. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served faithfully in many callings. She was Relief Society President, ordinance worker in the Provo LDS Temple, and served a mission with her husband to the Oakland Temple from 1983 to 1984. Nelda is survived by seven sons and one daughter: Don (Leslie) Oldham of Covered Bridge, Levor (Christine) Oldham of Covered Bridge, Steven (LuAnne) Oldham of Lake Havasu, Arizona, Morlin (Rebecca) Oldham of Covered Bridge, Wade (Sherri) Oldham of West Mountain, Margaret (Jeffrey) Cooper of West Mountain, Mark (Anna) Oldham of Orem, and Byron (MarChele) Oldham of Orem; 65 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two sisters and one brother; and two grandsons. Funeral services will be Tuesday, 31 May 2005 at 11 a.m. in the Spanish Fork Canyon View Stake Center, 989 South 2550 East. Friends and family may call Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Walker Family Mortuary, 187 South Main, Spanish Fork, and on Tuesday at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery. In her honor donations may be given to the L.D.S. Perpetual Education Fund. Sheeley, LaVerne Hone LaVerne Hone Sheeley LaVerne Hone Sheeley, 83, of Orem, died April 25, 2005, in Provo. She was born December 28, 1921, a daughter of George W. And Emma LaDell Beardall Hone in Springville, Utah. She married Mark John Sheeley October 4, 1940, in Pocatello, Idaho. LaVerne won seventeen state trophies for her handwork in crochet. She was a state leader in 4H. She played the piano and the organ in church for many years. She was a quilter and a seamstress; she quilted and donated 47 quilts to Primary Children's Hospital. Volunteered as a Pink Lady at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo. Survivors include her husband Mark John Sheeley of 65 years, her two daughters, Karol (Vaughn) Gourley, Claudette (Michael) Bishop both of Las Vegas, NV. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 7.5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 28, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. in the Cascade Chapel at Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State Street in Orem. Friends and family may call Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 at the mortuary. Interment will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery. Webb, Vera Rose Winthrop Vera Rose Winthrop Webb Vera Rose Winthrop Webb, 89, passed away May 24, 2005, in Heber City, Utah. She was born February 5, 1916 in Ilasco, Missouri. She was the oldest of eight children raised in the home of Paul LeRoy and Mamie Fern Carpenter Winthrop. She graduated from Hannibal High School in Hannibal, Missouri in 1933. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served a mission in the Southern States Mission from 1936-1938. While serving there she met Elder Antone Webb. They were married in the Mesa Arizona Temple on June 29, 1940. Vera was a fabulous homemaker, turning ordinary things into works of beauty for family and friends. She had many talents and enjoyed sharing her handmade gifts with those she loved. Vera was compassionate and generous in her relationships with others. She worked for many years at Western Printing Company in Hannibal as a proofreader and supervisor. Vera had a delightful personality and a fun sense of humor which drew others to her. She faithfully served for many years as Relief Society President and in other callings while Tony served as Branch President in Hannibal. Vera and Tony were called to serve a mission in Nauvoo, IL in 1978. After their return they were called to work in the Provo Temple. Vera moved to Heber City to live with her daughter in 2001 after Tony's death. She was preceded in death by Tony, her husband of 61 years; a daughter, Denna S. Reutenauer; a son, David S. Webb; a grandson, Paul A. Reutenauer; and twin great-grandsons. She is survived by a daughter, Dixie (Jerry) Surratt of Heber City, UT; sons, Douglas A. (Kathy) Webb of Fargo, ND, and Donovan P. (Ann) Webb of Kahului, HI; and daughter-in-law, Kathy Webb of Erie, PA. She has 21 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 28, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Heber East Stake Center, 2395 S. Mill Road (1200 E.), in Heber City, Utah. A viewing will be held for one hour immediately preceding the funeral beginning at 9:45. Interment will be in the Orem City Cemetery. Arrangements are by SereniCare Funeral Directors, Sandy, Utah.
