He was born July 14, 1916 to Leo William and Etta Gertrude Frazer Kerschner. He married Enid Bean Knotts on May 9, 1968, later deceased. Neal served in the Army Air Corps earning distinction by being awarded the Bronze Star, the Air Medal and the Distingushed Flying Cross. He is also past Exalted Ruler of the Provo Elks Lodge. He was an auto body technician with the light of his life's work was spending 11 years teaching auto body work in the vocational training program at the Utah State Prison. Neal is survived by his children Karol, Lynn, Pam, Roger, Douglas, Margie and Annette. He is also survived by 32 grandchildren and 82 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter and brother. Graveside services will be held with military honors at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 16, 2005 at the Spanish Fork City Cemetery in Spanish Fork. Arrangements by SereniCare, Funeral Directors. Nelson, Norman Scott Norman Scott Nelson, age 51, of Provo, died at home on November 13, 2005, of complications due to Multiple Sclerosis. He was born on July 16, 1954, in Munich Germany to Norman and Laura Hamblin Nelson. He grew up and attended schools in Phoenix, Arizona. He served an honorable LDS mission from 1973 1975 to the Massachusetts Boston Mission. He married Kari Rozsa in the Washington DC Temple in 1977. They are the proud parents of Sarah, William (Billy) and Beth. Scott graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Accounting. Scott was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served faithfully in various positions, especially enjoying his time as a temple worker in the Provo Temple. He is survived by his parents, children and brothers, Kenneth (Janna Rae), Michael (Linda Gay), and sisters, Becky Galloway (Nick) and Heidi Higginson (Brad).He is preceded in death by his sister Nancy. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. with a viewing from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Edgemont Eighth Ward building, 3050 Mojave Lane, Provo. Friends and family may also pay their respects on Tuesday evening from 7-9 p.m. at the ward house. Interment will be in the Provo City Cemetery. Arrangements by SereniCare, Funeral Directors. Published in the Daily Herald on 11/15/2005. Ockey, Nellie Gee She's "Peachie Rosie" Our sweet Mom, grandmother and friend Nellie Gee Ockey, passed away November 12, 2005 at the age of 93. Nellie was born in Moroni, Utah on November 18, 1911, the fourth of ten children of Urvin and Martena Jensen Gee. She married Clarence J. Ockey in Moroni, Utah on December 9, 1931. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple. He passed away in 1986. She lived in Nephi, Utah for several years and moved to Provo, Utah in 1942. There she worked as a doctor's office nurse at Utah Valley Clinic for 30 years. Nellie was an active member of the LDS Church serving in the Primary, M.I.A., Sunday School and Relief Society. Nellie's experience in nursing served her well as she helped neighbors, friends and family. She was always a giving person and caretaker of others. She is survived by her daughter, LaRue (Oliver) Frenette, grandson Dallin Wall, granddaughter Wendy (David) Brown, three great grandchildren; step grandchildren, Carla (Rick) Park, Brian (Linda) Frenette, Colleen (Stan) Parkin, Karen (Ben) Williams and many step great and great great grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother Burton Gee and sisters Alice Wilson, Lois Van Orden and Elaine Frandsen. Two brothers and three sisters preceded her in death. Thanks to all those at the Avalon Care Center who gave her such tender loving care. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday November 17, 2005 at Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. where friends may call from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Leo A. Smith, age 83, of Provo, died November 14, 2005, in Nephi. He was born March 23, 1922 in Beaver, Utah to Gilbert and Viola Patterson Smith. Leo graduated from Beaver High School. He served in the 8th Army Air Corps during WWII. He worked at Geneva Steel (U.S. Steel) as Pipe Fitter, retiring after 35 years. He married Francis Pulsipher in Beaver, Utah in 1946. Together they had two children. They were later divorced. He married Bette Goodfellow in 1955 in Beaver, Utah. Together they had two children. She preceded him in death on October 18, 2001. Leo was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed carpentry, spur and bridle making, and made handcrafted knives. He loved helping other people. He is survived by one son and two daughters; Richard Leo (Annette) Smith of Nephi, UT; Carma (Jimmy) Hall of Provo, UT; and Trudy (Roland) Dalley of Provo, UT; eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; and by a sister, Lauree Stevens of Roy, UT. He was preceded in death by his wife, four sons, his parents, two brothers and a granddaughter. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 17, 2005 at 1:00 p.m., at the Freedom 1st Ward LDS Chapel, 920 South Freedom Blvd., Provo.
