A native of Provo, he was the son of Merton and Ruby Heiselt Jones. He had two brothers and is survived by his brother Max. He married Winifred Nuttall Nov. 24, 1938 in Provo. She preceded him in death in June of this year. Stanley graduated from Provo High School and attended Salt Lake Community College, The Provo Technical School and Engineering Schools while in the military. During World War II he served in the U. S. Navy as a member of the 1224th Seabees and was stationed in the Aleutians where he utilized many of his skills including his metal working skills and photography. He was a member of the Pipe-fitters Union and worked for several construction companies as well as Geneva Steel. He owned and operated Stan's Shop for 52 years and was well known to the rock-hound community. He was the first gem and mineral dealer to introduce both Utah and Idaho Opal nationally, traveling to gem and mineral shows throughout the country. He was also a skilled silver-smith creating original and attractive mountings for gemstones. He organized and was the first president of the Timpanogos Gem and Mineral Society and had remained active until illness forced his retirement. He donated a 90-piece exhibit to the club for use in educating others about gems, minerals and their history. He also has donated many items used in museums around the country. Stan and Winifred were the parents of five children, Douglas Jones, Jennie Cerrito, Randy Jones and Laura Miner and "Baby Stan" who died as an infant. He enjoyed his 17 grandchildren and 30 Great-grandchildren and they enjoyed spending time with "Grandpa". Stan was known to "grubstake" those who needed help; teach anyone who wanted to be a "rock hound" and shared his sense of humor, kind heart, and hard work ethic. A viewing for family and friends will be at 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday the 26th at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 E. 800 North in Orem with a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. at the Provo City (Pioneer) Cemetery, 610 S. Masterson, Charles H. 1911 ~ 2005 Charles Howard Masterson, 93, passed away November 20, 2005 in Provo, Utah. He was born Nov 24, 1911 in Warren, Marion County, Missouri to Arasmus Foster and Orpha Etta Crouch Masterson. He married Lorna Elsie Hutchings on July 6, 1940 in Cedar City, UT. She passed away July 3, 1987. Charles grew up on a farm in Missouri. He came west with the CCC. He helped build Geneva then worked and retired from Geneva. He was a chef who loved to garden and golf. Survived by 3 daughters and 2 sons, Anna Lou (Bud) Patten; Myles A. (Melba) Judd; Ronald C. (Geneal) Masterson; Donna (Ken) Harris; Carole (Al) Colledge; 31 grandchildren, 65 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren and his brother LeRoy Masterson. Preceded in death by his wife, 5 brothers, 4 sisters and 2 grandsons. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov 26 at 11 am in the Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 E 100 N, American Fork.
