He was 85. Bob was born in Provo on March 21, 1920, to Joseph Franklin and Zina Nielson Cook. He is survived by his sister, Victoria Cook Warnick, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He graduated from Provo High School in 1939. He played basketball, football, and track while in high school. Throughout his life, Bob loved sports. He worked for Pacific States Cast Iron Pipe Company for two years, the Union Pacific Railroad for four years, and Telluride Motor Service Station for one year, before working 35 years for Geneva Steel Company as a machinist and drill press operator. He retired in 1982. He was friendly to everyone he met. He was a devoted son and took care of his widowed mother until she passed away, in 1975, at the age of 99. Bob was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, attending the Bonneville 3rd Ward. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 30, 2005, at 2 p.m., in the Berg Drawing Room Chapel, 185 East Center Street, Provo. Friends may call at the mortuary one hour prior to services. Interment, Provo City Cemetery. Published in the Daily Herald on 11/28/2005. Ostler, Max Max Ostler died November 26, 2005, in Richfield, Utah. He was born February 3, 1919, in Spanish Fork, Utah, to Samuel T. and Rosalia Boyack Ostler. He married Fern Elmer on December 7, 1946, in Payson, Utah, and their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo L.D.S. Temple. He was an active member of the L.D.S. Church and has served in many positions, including High Priest's Group leadership and genealogy research. Max enjoyed doing temple work. The family lived in various locations in Utah in connection with Max's career with the Bureau of Reclamation. They lived in Payson, the Duchesne Tunnel in the Uintah Mountains near Kamas, Roy, and Provo. Max spent the last year of his life with his daughter in Richfield. Max served in World War II with the Utah National Guard, Battery C, 222nd Field Artillery. He was employed for 36 years with the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation and worked on developing water for the Weber Basin and Central Utah Projects. He was preceded in death by his wife, Fern; three brothers and two sisters. He is survived by children: Ross Parry (Marilyn), of South Ogden; Dennis Parry (Linda), South Ogden; Don Ostler (Kathy), Bountiful; Maxine Hiss (Kevin), Richfield; and brothers and sisters: Dean Ostler (Adele), Renton, Washington; Ray Ostler (Gloria), Orem; Clyde Ostler, Spanish Fork; Bill Ostler (Wanda), of Bountiful; and Rosa Lee Boschee, Orem. Max and Fern had 17 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2005 at 11 a.m.; in the Berg Mortuary Drawing Room Chapel, 185 East Center Street, Provo. Friends may call at the mortuary on Tuesday morning from 9:30-11 a.m. Interment will be in the Payson City Cemetery. Full Military Honors will be accorded. Published in the Daily Herald on 11/28/2005. Patterson, Cleo Cleo Ellen Bridgham Patterson, 91, of American Fork, died November 25, 2005. Born August 3, 1914, in Kooskia, Idaho, the daughter of Alden Luther and Clara Ellen Brain Bridgham. She married John Albert Patterson in San Diego, in 1935; their marriage was later solemnized in the Mesa Arizona Temple. He preceded her in death August 3, 1969. She was a missionary in the Denver Colorado Mission, a Relief Society President, Primary President; and, she loved to be in the outdoors. Survived by a son, John (Pat), and his wife, Beth Patterson, Roy, Utah; seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband; two daughters, Julie, and Janene; and a son, Bob. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, November 30, 2005, at 11 a.m., in the Farmington Cemetery (500 South 200 East).
