He was born May 16, 1919, in Payson, Utah, son of Emma Ireta Mitchell and Alma Monroe Argyle, Sr., the fifth of 12 children. He grew up on the Argyle Ranch near Randolph, Rich County, Utah. His military service during WWII was in the infantry in France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany. Cyril graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in political science, and from the University of Utah Law School. He became a member of the Utah State Bar Association. He married Erma Jeanne Scott on June 13, 1947, in the Salt Lake L.D.S. Temple. They lived in Salt Lake City, Randolph, Utah, and for the last 50 years in Provo. Cyril retired from USX (U.S. Steel) Geneva Plant. He enjoyed traveling in his camper, watching rodeos, and telling stories. He particularly enjoyed his grandchildren and his many nieces and nephews. He is survived by his widow; one brother, Ralph Argyle, of Randolph, Utah; five children: Scott (Vicki) Argyle, of Layton, Utah; Dr. Bruce (Diane) Argyle, of Alpine, Utah; Anna (Richard) Sabin, of Layton, Utah; Bob Argyle, of Ogden, Utah; Kay Argyle, of Salt Lake City, Utah; 21 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 9, 2005, at 1 p.m., in the Sunset 10th Ward Chapel, 1402 South 570 West, Provo. Friends may call on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m., at Berg Mortuary, 185 East Center Street, Provo; and, on Friday at the church, one hour prior to funeral services. Binks, Frederick Lynn Frederick Lynn Binks passed away on September 4th, 2005 due to complications resulting from cancer. Fred fought courageously in life and passed away peacefully in the company of his loving family. Our tremendous loss is the gain of loved ones who have passed before him. Fred was born April 19, 1944 in Provo, Utah to Elwyn and Kathryn Binks. He learned early the importance of hard work when he went to Yellowstone to work for the summer at the age of 15. He subsequently attended Provo High School where he wrestled and ran track. He graduated in 1962 and shortly thereafter married Lois Erickson of Springville, Utah. Fred worked 40 years as a Millwright at Geneva Steel where he was a respected hard working friend of his coworkers. He worked hard until the end of his life and this last year earned a college degree at UVSC. He was also busy restoring an antique car before illness prevented him from continuing. Fred was a member of the LDS church. He had two children, Tracy and Wade. Both children were very blessed as they grew up in a home of love and affection with Fred as their father. Fred was known for his calm disposition and quiet acts of kindness and love. He was very intelligent and was able to fix almost anything. He enjoyed helping others. He loved hunting, fishing and most recently spending time in the mountains of Fairview with Lois and his two dogs, Mutley and Annie Mae. His example of honesty, kindness and love greatly influenced the lives of his children and grandchildren. The memory of his exemplary life will be cherished. However, he will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Lois Erickson, a son and daughter, Wade Binks (Shelley) and Tracy Rogers (Courtney) as well as 8 grandchildren; Samantha, Melissa and Abigail Rogers as well as Kristie, Heather, Sean, Nicole and Ashley Binks. He is survived by his brother, Drew; sisters: Kaye Croft, Jackie Grover, and Cheri Carlson. Fred was also survived by his two white furry constant companions, Mutley and Annie Mae. Funeral services will be held at the LDS church on 131 South 1600 West in Provo on Thursday the 8th of September. A viewing will be held at 9:45 AM with the services beginning at 11:00 AM. "Together Forever" Elithe Winegar Doxey, a great wife, mother and teacher, died peacefully at home in Alpine, Utah, 5 September 2005. She was born 21 June 1924 at home in Salt Lake City, Utah, to William Sterling Winegar and Pearl Victoria Langford. Elithe met her eternal sweetheart, William Hayes Doxey, at East High School. They were married a year after graduation, 15 April 1943, in the Salt Lake Temple, Bill and Elithe stand together as the parents of 10 families now totaling 172, including: Gary and Michal Miller, Roswell, NM; David and Sharlee Rands, Cedar Hills, UT; Clair and Helen Rogers, Riverton, UT; Mark and Debbie Doxey, Laie, HI; Rick and Kristine Kiholm, Camino, CA; Gretel Doxey, Alpine, UT; Carl and Mary Ann Shoff, American Fork, UT; Jonathan and Becky Doxey, Alpine, UT; Jared and Jena Doxey, Kaysville, UT; David and Molly Dean, Highland, UT; and two more dear daughters Ethel Stallings and Marlene Garnham; 54 grandchildren with 34 spouses and 62-soon-to-be-66 great grandchildren. As she left this life she was happily met by her dear husband Bill, son Warren Cottrell, and daughters Helen and Marlene. When her last child started school, she returned to the University of Utah and graduated cum laude, certified to teach Home Economics. She taught in Utah and Colorado for 20 years, finishing her career at Alpine District s Young Mothers School serving as principal, secretary, teacher, and surrogate mother to many young women. Bill and Elithe served a mission together in Smithers, British Columbia. She also served several times as president of the Relief Society, Young Women and PTA. She taught many classes, in food preservation, gospel doctrine and homemaking skills. Elithe worked very hard to stretch her income to care for her large family. She baked all the bread, canned thousands of bottles of food, rolled out countless pie crusts, sewed all the dresses, draperies and slipcovers, embroidered, knitted, managed a small farm, made do and did without. She was the heart of her family s home, spearheading prayers, family home evenings, late night talks, family reunions and meal after meal after meal. Elithe loved her brothers and sisters and their families; Ray and Marge Winegar, LeMar and Beverly Winegar, Wen and Norma Winegar, Keith and Virginia Winegar, James and Liz Winegar, D Monte and Joan Coombs, Buzz and Caroline Winegar, Keith and Carol Otteson and Barry and Jean Winegar. She also loved her in-laws and their families; Graham and Leone Doxey, Helen and Vere Frampton, Chet and Georgia Pratt, Ed and Mildred Porter, Jack and Phyllis McAfee and Tom and Eunice Doxey. Funeral services for Elithe will be held Thursday, September 8, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. in the Alpine Utah North Stake Center, 1125 East Alpine Boulevard, Alpine, Utah. Family and friends may call on Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Warenski Funeral Home, 1776 North 900 East, American Fork, Utah and Thursday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Church. Hill, Marlene Thayer Marlene Thayer Hill, 71, died August 28, 2005, of cancer in Klamath Falls, Oregon. Marlene was born April 11, 1934, in Provo, Utah, to Edward Frank and Lily Thatcher Thayer. Marlene grew up in Provo, where she attended the public schools, graduating from Provo High School. Marlene was in nursing school at Mills College in California, when she met and married Richard B. Hill in 1953. As a military wife she live in France, New York, North Dakota, California, and Utah. She and her husband were later divorced. After her divorce Marlene returned to nursing to support her family of five children, first as an LPN and then, after further schooling, as an RN. As a nurse she was employed by various hospitals and rest homes. At the time of her retirement she was nurse in the California state penal system. Marlene worked hard to provide for her children. Although she was ill for several years, Marlene remained cheerful and sought to enjoy her life as much as possible. Her hobbies were needlepoint and crocheting. The main focus of Marlene s life was her family. Her children and daughters-in-law, with the help of Hospice, cared for her during the last months of her illness, and she died quietly at home, as she desired. Survivors include children: Keith (Kim) Hill, Klamath Falls, Oregon; Kenneth (Erica) Hill, Bahrain; Steve (Nancy) Hill, Issaquah, Washington; Valerie Cantu, Klamath Falls; and Richard Hill, Tustin, California; twelve grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three brothers: Rowland, West Haven, Connecticut; Douglas, Provo; and Robert, Dunwoody, Georgia. Newman, Evelyn Sammie Evelyn Newman 79, passed away September 3, 2005 in Provo, Utah with her family around her. Evelyn was born November 19, 1925 to Samuel J & Nora A Arnold Pickering in Mena, Arkansas. She married Ted C Newman on August 8, 1975 in Port Orchard, WA. Evelyn, my wife was a fabulous wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She had unconditional love for all her family. No matter what the circumstances; she made you feel like you were the most important and loved person in the world. She was the family matriarch and when there was a need; no matter what the cost or inconvenience she was there. Her Motto! "Pay It Forward". If anyone tried to pay her back she would say "Pass It On Down". Her home was always warm and friendly and a place for family get together and family parties. When one get together was over she started making plans for the next one. Her family was and is the most important treasure she has; proof of that is in her over 200 family picture albums. She always told everyone, "if there is a fire, save my albums. She was a fabulous cook, dancer, pianist, adventurest and a Cracker-jack accountant. Her saddest moment was when she had to leave her family behind. She will be greatly missed, we love her so very much. She is Our Angel now. Evelyn is survived by her husband Ted of Mt. Pleasant, UT her two children Loyce (Jon) Schuhman of Mt. Pleasant, UT and Dee (Dennis) Englehard of Lake Powell; sisters, Freida (Jack) Newman, Mt. Pleasant, UT; Faith Bryan, California. She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Sammie Marie, Grandson-in-law Dan Hermansen, Granddaughter Carolyn Howell, brother Lee Pickering. Funeral Services will be held September 10, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at Rasmussen Mortuary, 96 N 100 W Mt. Pleasant, UT. Perry, Diana K. 1956-2005 Diana K Perry, daughter of William H and Carol Keetch, died on August 29, 2005 at the age of 49 at home peacefully in her sleep. Diana was born May 9, 1956 in American Fork, Utah. Diana married Bud Perry March 14, 1975 in the Manti Temple. Survivors include: husband, 5 children, Nicole Sacolles (Ralph), Michelle White ( Michael), Kathy Jo Perry, Deven Stewart Perry, and Angela Ames (Bryan), 8 grandchildren, Larena Friant (grandmother), parents, two sisters, and one brother. OREM - Our beloved Eleanor Margaret Toone Richins passed peacefully from this life on Tuesday, August 30, 2005. Eleanor was born May 26, 1910 in Croyden, Utah, the daughter of Lyon Lemuel and Elizabeth Alice Gibson Toone, and was named after her two grandmothers. She married Lloyd William Richins on July 6, 1929. Lloyd passed away on July 3, 1991. Eleanor was parted from her mother at the early age of six. Many kind relatives reared her over the years. In spite of her hardships, she had a kind and giving spirit. The joys in Eleanor s young life were centered around the farm and the wild country while working with her father. Eleanor was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in her community in many capacities, including voter registrar. Many enjoyed her handcrafted items. Eleanor will always be remembered for her attention to her family and for her desire to see to their happiness and well-being. She fulfilled countless roles as a mother and wife while she raised her family. All of this brought her great joy and satisfaction. She had a profound influence on her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren through her encouragement, interest, and love. Eleanor leaves behind four loving children: Margaret Roitz, Fort Bridger, WY; Donald Toone, and Lynnette Richins, both of Orem; Teresa Jones, Las Casas, TN; Jerry Richins, Ogden; 16 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Her siblings, Norman Toone and Betty Jean Leach, also mourn her passing. Her son, Robert Richins, and sisters, Maytie Alice Platt and Irene Farnsworth, preceded her in death. We will bid a sweet farewell to our dear mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother on Wednesday, September 7, 2005 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Family will meet friends at the mortuary on Wednesday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Interment, Lindquist's Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
