He was born June 26, 1926 in Lehi, Utah to Carl Tarvel and Murintha Alta Yates Hansen. He married his sweetheart and dancing partner, Dorothy Katherine Larsen, Oct. 13, 1943 in Orem, Utah. . After Dorothy's death Nov. 8, 1997, he was lucky enough to find another dancing partner, Reeta A. Jones. They were married Feb. 24, 1999 in American Fork. Don was a veteran of World War II. He was a truck driver for U.S. Steel, Geneva where he made many life-long friends. He enjoyed tinkering in his garage, working on the farm, water-skiing, hunting, horseshoes, and helping finish everyone else's projects. He was a true cowboy who loved his boots and watching Westerns. Survived by his wife, Reeta of American Fork; 3 sons and 1 daughter, Reed (Lisa), Duchesne; Steve (Keri), Lehi; Paul (Terilyn), Lehi; Kathaleen (Jeff) Ivins, Cedar Hills; 22 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-granddaughter; step-children, Jean and Harold Chatwin, Orem; Barbara and Jerry Buchanan, Wister, OK; Bill and Gaye Fangel, American Fork; Julia and Mike Doering, Orem; Ray and Tiffany Fangel and Doug Jones, Lehi; 26 step-grandchildren; 34 step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 11 siblings and 2 sons, Tony Don and Neil Keith. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 17, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the Lehi 2-5-9th Ward LDS Chapel at 300 N. 500 E. Friends and family may call at the Wing Mortuary, 118 E. Main, Lehi, Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday at the church one hour prior to services. Interment, Lehi City Cemetery. "Together Again" Luis A. Martinez joined his beloved sweetheart on September 15, 2005. He was born in Durango, Colorado on January 30, 1941 to Mary Martinez. Luis graduated from High School in Hawthorne, Nevada. Later he joined the Army and became a paratrooper. After serving his country, he married Helen Chavez and they had one daughter, Michelle and one son, Dennis. They were later divorced. He married his soulmate, Hilda Peterson Gullet, they shared twenty-one years together until Hilda passed on. Luis was a dedicated employee at W.W. Clyde until he retired after 21 years of service. Luis loved the outdoors, fishing with his family, traveling to Wendover, and helping others. He had a zest for life and would never give up. He will truly be missed by those who knew him. Survivors include: his daughter, Michelle (Felix) Pacheco, Montrose, Colorado; son, Dennis Martinez, Colorado; Brothers and sister, Pete Martinez, Provo; Mark Martinez, Antioch, California; and Mary Martinez of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Also numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: his mother, Mary; brother, Gilbert and Melax Martinez. Mass of the Christian Burial will be Monday, September 19, 2005, 11:00 a.m., at the San Andres Catholic Church, 315 East 100 North, Payson. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary, 587 South 100 West, Payson, Sunday, 6-7:00 p.m. with the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Friends may also call at the church Monday, 1 hour prior to the services. Published in the Daily Herald on 9/17/2005. Rasmussen, Betty May Mason Bredesen Betty May Mason Bredesen Rasmussen, age 76, of Springville, passed away September 15, 2005. She was born December 16, 1928, in Springville, Utah to Albert Earl Mason and Sarah Ann Jones Mason. She was married to Arnold Bredesen on January 11, 1950. He preceded her in death and she was later married to Kay N. Rasmussen on October 3, 1974. Betty was a devoted wife and mother. She was a loving grandmother, sister and friend. Betty served in the primary as both a teacher and the president. She was a devoted visiting teacher and she served as a visiting teaching supervisor until shortly before her passing. Betty is survived by her loving husband, Kay N. Rasmussen, and their daughters: Kathleen (Morris) Nelson of Provo, Jan Allen of South Jordan, Patricia (Roger) Sumsion of Springville, Katie (Neil) Jeppson of Saratoga Springs, Diane (Barry) Walker of Kamas and Denise (Mike) Kelly of West Jordan; 28 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters: Mildred Bolinder of Salt Lake, Martha (Loyd) Barker of Springville, Della (Vern) Thornton of Orem, and many beloved nieces and nephews. We would like to express our appreciation to Legacy House of Taylorsville, 1st Choice Homehealth of Utah and Salt Lake Counties, and Hospice; especially MiLinda Hudnall. She loved her nurses. Funeral Services will be held Monday, September 19, 2005 at 1 p.m. in the Hobble Creek West Stake Center located at 555 South 600 East in Springville. Friends may call Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South, Springville or at the church from 11:30-12:30 prior the funeral service. Reyes, Ignacio "Nacho" Ignacio Reyes "Nacho", loved by everyone he met, most of all by his children, passed away in Provo September 13, 2005. He was born to Rosa and Jose' Pio Reyes in the state of Chihuahua, Mexico. With his great sense of humor he brought smiles to everyone. His greatest accomplishment was the raising of his children, who held his hand until his last breath. Some of his passions were traveling, boxing, airplanes, and body building in which he competed at state level. He showed his noble side when he joined the Amber Cross as an EMT in Mexico. He is survived by his daughters Rosa Reyes, Mishell Dean and his son Luis Arturo Reyes. He will be greatly missed by his family and countless friends who know they will meet him again. A Service will be Saturday, September 17, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Provo Cemetery, 610 S. State, Provo.
