OREM - Joyce Glover Bentley, age 78, passed away September 23, 2005, at the UVRMC in Provo. She was born January 15, 1927, in Lehi, UT, to George Arthur and Delpha Hardman Glover. She married Lowell Everett Bentley on July 3, 1946. He died on June 27, 1981, in West Warwick, RI. Joyce was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a teacher's aid and loved to volunteer at the schools in West Warwick, Rhode Island, where she lived for 35 years. She then moved to Orem, Utah, where she has lived for 23 years. She enjoyed working in her yard and in her home; and, especially loved taking care of her family. She is survived by her children: Donna Lou (John) St. Peter, Henrietta, NY; Frank Arthur (Susan) Bentley, Claremont, CA; Daniel James (Carolyn) Bentley, McKinney, TX; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ward Glover, Sandy, UT; and a sister, Donna Glover, Lehi, UT. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Lowell. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 27, 2005, at 11 a.m., in the Canyon View 2nd Ward LDS Chapel at 762 E. 1200 North, Orem, Utah. Published in the Daily Herald on 9/26/2005. Bohn, Dr. Robert Flynn 1942 ~ 2005 Robert F. Bohn (Bob) of Cedar Hills, Utah, passed away suddenly on September 24, 2005, at his home. He was born February 10, 1942, in Los Angeles, California, to James and Madge Hutchings Bohn. He married Peggyanne, his wife of 40 years, in the Salt Lake City Latter-day Saint Temple on June 3, 1965. After serving as a Captain in the Vietnam War, Bob became an international banker; and, then pursued his true love - teaching. Dr. Bohn taught at the Brigham Young University (Provo, UT) Marriott School of Management, where he pioneered the nation s first undergraduate degree in Financial and Estate Planning. In 1982, Golden Gate University (GGU) in San Francisco hired him to create the nation s first Masters Degree in Financial Planning, and Internet Masters Degree in Finance. He eventually served as Dean, after which he retired and taught one or two graduate cyber-courses per semester. He was also elected to serve on the Board of Education of the San Ramon Valley Unified School District in California for five years as a member and president. Dr. Bohn earned his Bachelors of Art, Masters, and PhD degrees from BYU. In his lifetime, he published several books and more than 100 articles. He is a 5th generation Latter-day Saint, having served a mission in Frankfurt, Germany, for two and one-half years. Dr. Bohn will always be remembered for his love and concern for his family and fellow beings. He is survived by his wife; five sons: Jeffrey R. (Brenda), David M. (Shawna), Matthew L. (Jamie), Michael P. (Amy), and Mark D. (Bonni); eight grandchildren: Brittany, Kaden, Joshua, Ian, Aaron, Madison, Jackson, and Dallyn. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Wayne Bohn. Edwards, Weston Eyring 1934 ~ 2005 Weston Eyring Edwards, born May 13, 1934, to William F. and Catherine Eyring Edwards, passed away on September 25, 2005, at 2:30 a.m. He fought a short but valiant battle against cancer, when his mighty heart stopped beating; then, he peacefully returned to the arms of his Heavenly Father. He was a noble man, a truly loved and loving father, a spiritual giant, a brilliant academician, and an influential industry leader. He and his eternal sweetheart of fifty-one years, Jaroldeen Asplund Edwards, were sealed in life as they will be in eternity. Theirs was a truly glorious marriage! They were the parents of 12 wonderful children, 75 splendid grandchildren and the miracle of seven great grandchildren. He was born in New York City; and, at the age of 12, was admitted to a prestigious high school. He attended Brigham Young University, graduating Phi Kappa Phi, where he was elected Business Manager of the student body. He and his wife, Jaroldeen, spent two years in Dayton, Ohio, where he achieved the rank of Captain in the U.S. Air Force. Afterwards, they went to Boston, where Weston spent five years at Harvard Business School, receiving an M.B.A. and a Doctorate in Finance and Banking. He graduated first in his class at Harvard and was the Donald David Kirk Scholar and a Baker Scholar. In subsequent years, he worked in the financial industry in Chicago, New York, Dallas, and Los Angeles. He became an industry leader and consultant in the real estate and mortgage banking industry, and was nationally renowned. He was the founder and chairman of the National Housing Roundtable. He was currently teaching at the Marriott School of Management, as well as continuing his vigorous consulting business. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was humble, powerful in his testimony, close to the Spirit, and a great student of the scriptures. He always served with total dedication as a bishop, counselor in a stake presidency, High Priest Group Leader, and many other positions of leadership. He declared the gospel with all his might, and he was a master teacher. Members will always remember his booming bass voice in each ward choir where he sang, as well as his resounding "Amen" after every prayer. Missionary work was always close to his heart; and, one of the great joys of his life was when he and his wife served in the South African Mission (Johannesburg), where they established institutes and seminaries and fell in love with the people of South Africa. Weston and Jaroldeen were serving as temple workers at the Timpanogos Temple at the time of his death. The focus of his life was always his family. He loved his children fiercely and his abiding motto was "Make Righteousness Fun". He succeeded in making family life a great adventure for every child. He had a deep and abiding love for children. Every grandchild could not wait to run to his breathtaking embrace, and they knew they were loved unconditionally. He prayed every morning and night for every child, grandchild and great-grandchild by name. This magnificent man filled every minute of his life with meaningful labor and the Lord took him home mid-stride. All one hundred and fifteen members of his immediate posterity pray that they will follow his pure example. Halladay, Karyl Wynona Christiansen Karyl Wynona Christiansen Halladay, 78, of Pleasant Grove, Utah, passed away peacefully at her home with her family present, on September 23, 2005. Karyl was born July 14, 1927, in Pleasant Grove, Utah, the only child of Parley O. and Wynona Pack Christiansen. Karyl married Arthur Roy Halladay on February 18, 1947, in the Salt Lake Temple. Karyl was a full-time mother and spent almost all of her life on her beloved family farm. She was a very hard worker and taught each of her children the value of work. Karyl s family was the most important part of her life, and she enjoyed cooking for them. She was an active member of the LDS Church and held numerous positions. Karyl enjoyed various types of handiwork, gardening, and sewing. Karyl is survived by her husband of 58 years; four children: Brent (Nancy) Halladay; Pleasant Grove; Diane (Les) Bennett, Roosevelt; Kaye (Ted) Davies, Spanish Fork; and Neil (Susan) Halladay, Pleasant Grove. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Jennifer Bennett. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 27, 2005, at 11 a.m. in the Timpanogos First Ward, 193 North 400 East, Pleasant Grove. Hanson, Peggy Peggy Hanson, dearly loved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Friend passed away peacefully on September 23, 2005. She was born January 24, 1929, to MaryBell and Edward Ross Bonebrake, in Hollywood, California. Peggy loved her family and her friends, who were a blessed extension of her family. They were her whole life; and, her eyes lit up and her face beamed when they would come to visit. She loved animals, videos, and music; and, an occasional unstoppable dance. She is preceded in death by her parents, and stepmother, Evelyn Cannon Bonebrake; her husbands, Clifford Carter and Melvin Hanson; her brother, William Bonebrake; two sisters: Marilyn Bonebrake Linthicum and Jill Bonebrake Weeks. She is survived by her ex-husband, Martin Karkula; her daughter, Cherry Dean (Scott) Mayberry; four grandchildren: Shaun Jay Christiansen, Jacy (Dayna) Christiansen, Trinity (Jennifer) Christiansen, and Canda Christiansen; two great-grandchildren: Meagan and Jocelyn Christiansen, along with a great-granddaughter due October 25th, and a great-great grandson due September 27th; two step-grandsons: Brock Smith and Brodi Smith. Long, Eric Benson Eric Benson Long, 31, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2005, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born January 19, 1974, in Provo, Utah, to Elmer and Tammie Long. Eric married Laura Bingham, and they were later divorced. Eric and Laura remained good friends. He attended Pleasant Grove High School and was attending Eastern Idaho Technical College. Eric would have graduated this year as a Journeyman Electrician. Eric loved to hunt, fish, camp, and ride his motorcycle. Eric was a great chef and ran his own diner in Idaho. He especially loved his daughter and his family. He also loved living in Idaho. Eric is survived by his daughter, Kylee Jean Long, Pleasant Grove; mother, Tammie J. Long, Pleasant Grove; father, Elmer B. Long, Pleasant Grove; brother and best friend, David (Sylvia) Long, Idaho; loving sister, Jana J. (Jason) Jacobs, Pleasant Grove; grandmothers: Verda Pierce, American Fork; Alice Long, Vernal; and Glenna Luce, Idaho; three nephews and one niece. Workman, Neal Curtis Neal Curtis Workman, age 52, of Orem, passed away September 23, 2005. He was born August 31, 1953, in American Fork, Utah, a son of Peter Clove and Norma Curtis Workman. Neal had a great love for hunting, fishing, and the outdoors; but, his greatest joy came from spending time with his grandson, Devin. Neal recently completed his education and received his degree in Counseling for Drug and Alcohol Abuse. Survivors include his mother and father, Peter and Norma Workman, of Orem; his children: David Neal Workman, of South Salt Lake City; Tawni Rae (Brennan) Green, of Murray; Wiley Jean Workman, of Salt Lake City; and Lyndee Rae Workman, also of Salt Lake; also, his children from previous marriages: Julie, Gary, and Russell. He is also survived by his best buddy - grandson, Devin Green; and his brothers and sisters: Colleen (Keith) Barlow, of Pleasant Grove; Lloyd (Cathy) Workman, of Helper; Layne (Debbie) Workman, of Pleasant Grove; Glen (Tawnia) Workman, of Provo; and Alene (David) Ramos, of Orem; and his girlfriend, Marcy Nielsen. He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters: David, Karl, Diane, Connie, and Linda.
