She was born on September 19, 1912 in Parowan, Utah to Oscar and Annie Jensen Decker. She married her sweetheart Don Bentley Orton on May 25, 1932 in the St. George Temple. He preceded her in death in March 1970. Rula loved music and traveled all over the state performing and sharing her great talent with others. She enjoyed cooking and will always be remembered by her wonderful pies. Rula also enjoyed crocheting and sewing. Rula enjoyed working in her well manicured yard, taking care of the beautiful flowers and the gardening. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Rula is survived by her children, Mary (Warren) Dalton, JoeAnn (Dixon) Hunter, Decker (Katherine) Orton all of Parowan, and Gary (Sandy) Orton of Las Vegas, Nevada, 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 24 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, 2 daughters Peggy & LaRee Orton, 3 brothers, 7 sisters, grandson Joseph Dixon Hunter and her parents. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Parowan 2nd Ward Chapel. Friends and family may call on Wednesday, December 8, from 6:00-8:00 p.m and Thursday, December 9, from 9:30-10:30 at the Parowan Southern Utah Mortuary. Interment will be in the Parowan City Cemetery.
