George was born August 24, 1917 in Pritchard, Alabama to John Johnson and Henrietta Coker, both preceding him in death. Also preceding him in death is his beloved wife, Marie on September 29, 1999 in St. George, Utah. George's military service included numerous U.S. and overseas billets including, Coastal Artillery Corps, Ft. Pickens, Pensacola Beach, Florida and Panama Canal Zone prior to World War II and combat duty in Africa and Europe during the War, landing at Normandy on D-Day, Battle of the Buldge and invasion and defeat of Germany. After the war, he served overseas in Germany and the Philippines traveling extensively with his family in the Far East and Europe. After 23 years in the service, he retired in St. George, Utah where he was sealed to his wife in the St. George LDS Temple. After his wife's death, he moved to Boise to be near his son, Rob. He is survived by two sisters; Inez Collier and Catherine Alsup; son Robert G. (Donna) Johnson and their six children of Boise; Robert, Jr., Kevin, Tina, Larry, Steven, and Brian, all of Boise; two stepsons, John E. (Voncile) Hall of Pensacola, Florida and their three children Derek, Kevin, and Tamera; and Dick (LaRee) Patridge of Pahrump, Nevada and their four children Rick, Patti, Gus, and Cindy; 15 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. A graveside service will be held in the St. George City Cemetery in St. George, Utah, Monday, December 13, 2004, at 10 a.m. under the direction of Metcalf Mortuary 435-673-4221. GEORGE, UTAH -- Terry Reed Harris, age 57, passed away Thursday, December 9, 2004, in St. George, surrounded with love. He was born November 30, 1947, in Salt Lake City, Utah, a son of Shirley Mae Reich and Reuel Reed Harris. Terry moved to Colorado in 1958. He served honorably in the United States Army until January of 1969. In 1971, Terry married Bonnie Lynn Artaz with whom he had four wonderful children. Terry moved to St. George, Utah in 1996. He was a son beloved, a caring father, and an ever-loving grandfather. He was a very accomplished individual, and was cared for by many Surviving family include his: children, Preston (Denise) Harris, Carrie (Joshua) Pettit, Desiree Harris, and Jason (Renee) Holsan; father, Reed (Donna) Harris; eight grandchildren; sister, Tamara (Robert) White; and brother, Ricky Harris. He is preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Mae Harris, and son, Reuel Reed Harris II. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 11, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. at the Spilsbury Mortuary Chapel. There will be a viewing Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., prior to services, at the Mortuary. Interment will be in the Washington City Cemetery.
