She was born Oct. 22, 1927, to Claude and Asta Malan in Ogden, Utah. She married Dr. J. Garth Chatterley of Cedar City, Utah, on Aug. 30, 1946, in the Salt Lake Temple. She is survived by brothers, Ben, Ned, and Tim Malan, and sister, Claudia Crawford. She is also survived by six children, Steven, Larry, David, Carolyn (Brown), Martin, and Mary (Pearson); twenty grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She has been a loving sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be greatly missed. She would like her posterity to know of her strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. A viewing will be held on Mon., Dec. 13, at 10:00 a.m., at Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Chapel, 1007 W. South Jordan Pkwy.(10600 So.), in South Jordan, with the funeral following at 11:00a.m. A graveside service will be held in Cedar City on Tues., Dec. 14, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a granddaughter coping with M.S. GEORGE -- Dan Dee Busic, 64, passed away December 10, 2004, in St. George, Utah after a battle with leukemia. He was born April 18, 1940 in Southgate, California to Pearl Speir and John Edgar Busic. He married Barbara Luella Bacon in Tijuana, Mexico on December 25, 1960. A Jack of all trades and a master of many, Dan grew up in Southern California. He loved life, travel and an array of hobbies including welding, woodworking and anything that his hands touched. His pride and joy was his 1956 Dodge 500 that he fully restored to stock and won many trophies in car shows around the area. He had a gift for conversation and loved to share his experiences with others. He is survived by his dedicated and wonderful wife, Barbara; children, Shereen (Pete) Peterson and Karen (Chuck) Alvillar, both of Mesquite, NV, Darlene (Jerry) Jackson, Ron (Holly) Busic and Brenda (Clark) Harrison all of St. George, UT; 26 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Richard Busic of Hemmett, CA, Michael Busic of Laguna Beach, CA; and sister, Betty (Roy) Wheeler of Sandpoint, ID. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Craig Matheson. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 13, 1 p.m., Metcalf Mortuary Chapel, 300 W. St. George Blvd., St. George, UT. Bernice Bastien Bernice Bastien passed away quietly December 9, 2004 after having lived a long and mostly active life. She was born May 14, 1914, to Mary and Joseph Majityka. She had seven brothers and sisters preceding her in death. Bernice loved her family, friends, animals, birds, flowers, gardening, sports, people, history and just being active. She retired from Ford Motor Co. after 28 years of service. She leaves her daughters Patricia Adams (Dave) and Marcia Chase (Ron), five grandchildren, four great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A memorial mass will be held at a later date in Clinton, MI. Arrangements are under the direction of Metcalf Mortuary.
