GEORGE, UT -- Aneva "Ann" Gillum, 66, passed on Dec. 11, 2004 at home. She was born Aug. 28, 1938 in Hamilton, Ohio to Stephen M. and Catherine M. Slovacek Slezak. Raised, graduated, and married in Dearborn, Michigan. She moved to California in 1963 and settled in Simi Valley some 30 years ago. She became a resident of St. George, Utah, November, 2003. Growing up Ann enjoyed being around horses and riding and would walk to stables a short distance from her home on a weekly basis. She loved to roller skate. Her interests were tap and ballet and softball, both as a player and spectator. She attended Dodger Stadium games and followed their standings every year. She established her career as a Senior Buyer in Aurospace parts for Metal Bellows in Chatsworth, California and retired in that profession from Parker-Hannafin, Moorpark, California. Her favorite place to vacation was Yosemite National Park. She is survived by her three daughters, Geralann and Rick Tabet, St. George, Utah, Laura Wedermann, Simi Valley, California, Vicki and Robert Bergquist, Roosevelt, Utah; seven grandchildren, Rosanna, Ryan, Nicole, Ashley, Camren, Hailey Anna, Jocelyn; Brother, Steven "Nick" and Judy Slezak, San Diego, California; and Sister, Theresa and Andrew Sibel, Farmington Hills, Michigan. Funeral services will be Dec. 18, 2004 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Simi Valley, California. Visitations will be Dec. 15, 2004, 6-8 p.m., Metcalf Mortuary, St. George, Utah and Dec.17, 2004 at Reardon Mortuary, Simi Valley, California. Interment will be in the Assumption Catholic Cemetery, Simi Valley, California, under the direction of Reardon Mortuary, (805) 526-6677.
