GEORGE -- Francis "Frank" Bowen Caudle, age 63, passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2004, at Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George, Utah. He was born August 24, 1941, in Covina, California, a son of Linzy F. and Eva Marie Sorensen Caudle. He married Olga Birones in 1956 in Azusa, California. They later divorced. Frank was born, raised, and educated in Covina, California, graduating from Covina High School. He served four years in the U. S. Army, and was stationed at Ellison Air Force Base in Fairbanks, Alaska. He fondly remembered the time he spent in Alaska. After being honorably discharged, he returned to Covina where he attended Mt. San Antonio Jr. College. He later worked in the construction business throughout Southern California. Frank loved fishing with his sons off the pier at Oceanside. A man who truly enjoyed the outdoors, he could often be found at Zion National Park. Frank was a talented gardener and always had a beautiful garden. Those who knew Frank would describe him as truly patriotic, kind, gentle, compassionate, and intelligent, and he loved his mother so very much. Surviving family include his: six children, Yvonne Almada, of Azusa, CA, Daniel Caudle, of Azusa, CA, LeAnn Caudle, of Escondido, CA, Robert Baldwin, of San Diego, CA, and Aaron Caudle, of Pleasanton, CA; four grandchildren; mother, Eva Marie Snow, of St. George, UT; sister, Linda Marie (Steve Allan) Tidwell, of St. George, UT; and nieces, Jannel Swigert, of Salinas, CA, and Debra Arlene Hatch, of Carlsbad, CA. He was preceded in death by his son, Allen Caudle. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 18, 2004, at 2:00 p.m. at the Spilsbury Mortuary Chapel. Visitations will be Friday, December 17, 2004 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., and again Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until time of services, both at the Mortuary. Friends and family are invited to offer their condolences at www.spilsburymortuary.com. Doris Jean Cooke ST. GEORGE -- Doris Jean Cooke passed away December 13, 2004 in St. George, Utah. She was born September 29, 1925 to Mildred Doyle and William Henahan. She married Vernon Cooke on May 18, 1945, in Lakewood, Ohio. Doris graduated from Lakewood High School, Lakewood, Ohio, in 1944. She enjoyed playing bridge and listening to classical music. She was an avid reader and lover of the outdoors, particularly hiking the trails of Zion National Park. She and Vern owned the Zion's Rest Motel for many years. They loved traveling and traveled the entire U.S. in the years after their retirement. She lived in Cleveland, Ohio, Sonoma and Willows, California and St. George, Utah. Doris is survived by her husband, Vern; four sons and three daughters, James Cooke, Petaluma, CA, Arthur Cooke, Carson City, NV, Doreen Cooke Zver, Spokane, WA, Connie Cooke Piper, Cleveland, OH, Ronald Cooke, St. George, UT, Therese Cooke King, Orland, CA, and Donal Cooke, St. George, UT; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, William Henahan, Stephonville, NY. She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, William Henahan. Memorial services will be held Thursday, December 16, 2004, 10 a.m., St. George Catholic Church, 259 W. 200 N. GEORGE -- Bud Winemiller, 79, passed away surrounded by his loving family at home on December 13, 2004. He was born September 22, 1925, to Hayes Winemiller, Sr., and Edna Welty Winemiller. He married Rachel Almeda Clark in Springfield, Ohio on August 17, 1950. Bud worked for the Arizona Hwy. Dept. and was supervisor for the Virgin River Gorge Hwy. Project. He loved to golf, bowl, do woodwork, and crafts. He also loved to travel and one of his most favorite places was Hawaii. But his greatest love was his family. Bud was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Rachel, his children; Vicki (John) Wittwer of St. George, UT, Pamela (Randy) Olsen of Draper, UT, grandchildren; Jerad, Sean, Jodi, Ryan, Kellie, 12 great grandchildren, sisters; Dorothy Jackson and Dixie Richendollar. He is preceded in death by his mother, father and son Michael David. One grandson Adam Hayes Olsen, two sisters; Edna Lanum and Doris Dotto. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 17, 2004, at 1 p.m., at the First Southern Baptist Church, 326 S. 600 E., St. George, UT. A visitation will be held, Thursday, December 16, from 7-8 p.m., at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 W. St. George Blvd., and Friday, December 17, from 12-12:45 p.m., prior to services at the church.
