GEORGE -- Yvonne Comer Bell, age 79, passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2004, at her home in St. George, Utah. She was born February 8, 1925 in Kansas City, Missouri, a daughter of John William and Willie Ann Moore Asher. She married Edgar Wallace Malone December 31, 1943. To this union was born a daughter, Bonnie, who they raised in Kansas City. She and Edgar were divorced shortly thereafter, and she married David T. Comer February 8, 1947. Their marriage was solemnized in the Oakland Temple in 1965. To this union were born three sons, David, Danny, and Greg. Her husband, David, preceded her in death, and she married Val Dee Bell August 22, 1969. He also preceded her in death. David was a career military man, and in 1956 they relocated to Riverside, California for a brief time, and then on to Sacramento, where Yvonne lived near her sister, Vivian. While in Sacramento, Yvonne converted to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After David's death, she moved her family to Provo, Utah in 1966, and there, she was employed as a meat wrapper at Carson's Market for many years. In 1991, she moved to Santa Clara, where she lived with her son, Danny, and his wife, Lois. After Danny passed away in March of 1998, Yvonne lived with her son, Greg, and his wife, Fay Ann. Yvonne, an active and faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, served in many callings throughout her life, including that of a St. George Temple Ordinance worker. Yvonne loved to sing, and she shared her talent by singing in ward choirs. Those who knew Yvonne would say that they never heard her say a bad word about anyone. She was a giving, kind, and gentle woman who loved children and animals. Yvonne is survived by her: daughter, Bonnie (David) Malone, of Seattle, WA; sons, David T. Comer, Jr., of San Diego, CA, and Greg (Fay Ann) Comer, of St. George, UT; daughter-in-law, Lois Comer, of Ivins, UT; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and sister, Vivian Boyd, of St. George, UT. She was preceded in death by her: son, Daniel Lee Comer; daughter, Nancy Mae Comer; and brother, Reggie Asher. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 20, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at the Spilsbury Mortuary Chapel. Visitations will be held Sunday, December 19, 2004, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., and Monday, one hour prior to service, both at the Mortuary. Interment will be at the Santa Clara City Cemetery.
