He was born September 19, 1944 in Beaver, Utah to Leland Stanford and Virginia Banks Beaumont. He married VeeAnn Benson June 7, 1963 in the St. George LDS Temple. They were later divorced. He worked in the iron mines for a number of years as a mechanic. Jack enjoyed going hunting, fishing, trapping and being in the outdoors. He was a very handy man. Jack also had a wonderful sense of humor. He is survived by his children, Timothy and Deena Beaumont of Cedar City, Bryan and Julie Beaumont of Mesquite, NV., TaraLisa and Elwood Faught of Bunkerville, NV. and Casey and Carrie Beaumont of Mesquite, NV. He has 10 grandchildren. Four sisters, Dawnetta Keel of Fillmore, Karen and Arnell Gale of Beaver, Vickie and Sam Hutchings of Beaver and Jan Kennedy, his twin sister of Beaver. Three brothers, Chris Beaumont of Parowan, Rodney and Suzy Beaumont of Woods Cross and Kelly and Dori Beaumont of St George. He was preceded in death by both parents and a sister Sue Cartwright. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 31, 2004 at 11:00AM at the Beaver LDS 2nd Ward Chapel. Friends may pay their respects on Friday at the Church from 9:00AM to 10:30AM. Leah Ann Hayes Bills Leah Ann Hayes Bills, 69, passed away on December 26, 2004, after a valiant 7-year battle with cancer. Leah Ann Hayes was born in Georgetown, ID on January 14, 1935 to Frank E. and Hanna Smart Hayes. Leah Ann was raised in Georgetown, Idaho and attended Montpelier High where she graduated with honors on May 29, 1953. During High School she was a member of the band and enjoyed music the rest of her life. After graduating High School Leah Ann moved to Salt Lake City, Utah where she worked as a bookkeeper and attended the LDS Business College. In the spring of 1956, Leah Ann met Eugene D. Bills on a blind date.After a year of dating they were married on April 27, 1957 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Two years later they had their first child, Michael E. Bills, then two and a half years later they had their second child, Scott D. Bills. Over the years, Leah Ann and her husband Eugene dedicated their lives and worked endlessly so that their family could have all the opportunities and the best life possible. Leah Ann had wonderful relationships with friends and family through out her life in Idaho, Utah and Arizona. Leah Ann is survived by her loving husband, Eugene; two sons, Michael Bills, Scott and Stephanie Bills; three grandchildren, Lauren Bills, Amber Bills, Jessica Bills and her sister, Gladys Nevins. Eugene, Mike and Scott would like to extend our most sincere gratitude to all of our family and friends for the love and support you all gave throughout the last 7 years. The appreciation of your support and kindness cannot be verbalized. We would like to thank all of the wonderful people of Hospice of Havasu. GEORGE -- Thelma Stratton Lamoreaux, age 96, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 24, 2004 in her home, surrounded by family. She was born on June 10, 1908 in St. George, Utah to Oliver and Josephine Foremaster Stratton. She married Leland O. Lamoreaux on December 27, 1929 in the St. George LDS Temple.He preceded her in death in 1979. Thelma will be fondly remembered as a wonderful friend, mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints having faithfully served in numerous callings throughout her life. She was known by all for her loving, caring concern for each she came in contact with.She resided in Hiko, Nevada for the past 15 years. The example she set and the love she gave will be cherished forever. She is survived by her children, Gwendolyn (Keith) Whipple of Hiko, Nevada; A. Glade (Lawana) Lamoreaux of Henderson, Nevada; Douglas (Charlene) Lamoreaux and Kathleen (John) Hunt both of Hiko, Nevada; 21 Grandchildren, 44 Great-Grandchildren and 12 Great-Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Leland R. "Dick" Lamoreaux. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2004 at 10:00 A.M. PST at the Hiko ward chapel in Alamo, Nevada, a viewing will be held one hour prior to services.Interment will follow in the St. George City Cemetery at 3:00 P.M. MST under the direction of Wiscombe Funeral Home. Billie Fern Parks MILFORD -- Billie Fern Parks, age 74, passed in her sleep the morning of December 26th. She was born in Lubbock, Texas on February 17, 1930. Much loved, Billie resided in Milford, Utah with her daughter, Kathy Hughes, and her granddaughter, Heather Ramirez. Billie was preceded in death by her husband Vern Parks, and son Mark. She is survived by her four other children, Bonnie, Del, Wanda, and Kathy, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A memorial open house will be held Thursday, December 30th, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm downstairs at the Methodist/ Valley Alliance Church in Milford, Utah. Vaughn C. Soffe 1913 ~ 2004 Vaughn Carvel Soffe, 91, passed away Monday, December 27, 2004 at his home in Murray surrounded by his family.Born May 8, 1913 in South Jordan, Utah to William Royal and Lucy Ann Stocking Soffe. Married Mary Jenkins in Murray, Utah, later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.Graduated from Jordan High School and attended Utah State University, where he was involved in athletics. Vaughn was the former owner and president of Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary; a Funeral Director since 1938.He served as Mayor of Murray City for 7 years.He was past president of the Murray Kiwanis Club, the Murray Fraternal Order of Eagles, and Utah Funeral Directors Association.He was a member of the Cottonwood Hospital Board of Directors for many years. He was also Charter President of the Murray Jaycees, a past member of the Salt Lake County Volunteer Fire Dept., member of the Board of Directors of Sentinel Security Life Insurance Co., Chairman of the Salt Lake County Fair Parade for 5 years, and president of the Utah League of Cities and Towns. Vaughn was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in numerous callings including Bishopric, Bishop, Scouting programs, and was the recipient of the Silver Beaver Award.With his wife, he served 3 missions for the Church. Survived by his wife Mary of 68 years; children Carol Ann (Tom) Bartlett, Jaren (LaRose) Soffe, Gregg Soffe; 17 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; sister Shirla Holt; brother Carlos (Gloria) Soffe. Preceded in death by son Jon Arvil, 2 sisters and 4 brothers. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 3, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Murray 3rd Ward, 160 E. 4600 S. Friends and family may call Sunday, January 2, 2004 from 5-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State St., and Monday from 9:30-10:45 a.m. at the church.Interment Murray City Cemetery.
