He was born May 27, 1935, in Moore, Arkansas, a son of Alexander Conley and Clarissa Elizabeth Garrison Casey. When Ernie was a baby, his family moved to Mesa, Arizona where he was raised and educated, graduating from Mesa High School with the Class of 1954. After graduation, he attended Pasadena College in Pasadena, California for about one year, after which he joined the U.S. Air Force in1955. When he was stationed in South Carolina, he met the love of his life, Brenda Margaret Hawkins, and after a whirlwind courtship they married on August 15, 1958 in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. Ernie loved to play basketball and softball. He also loved to hunt and most any other thing that took him to the out-of-doors. He enjoyed reading, and his favorite books were by Louis L'Amour. Ernie's favorite thing, however, was the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. Surviving family include his: wife, Brenda, of Enterprise, UT; children, Lynette (Brian) Burdick, of St. Johns, AZ, Les (Lori) Casey and Kelly (Sandy) Casey, both of St. George, UT, Kristina "Kris" Waite, Gilbert, AZ, Kathie Casey (Steven Meyer), of Las Vegas, NV, Aaron Casey (Alita King), of Chandler, AZ, and Brenda S. Casey, of Gilbert, AZ; 22 grandchildren; and soon to be one great-granddaughter; sisters, Velma Haase, Leona Burke, Veda Misita, Verda Rice; brothers, Lewis, Bill, Gary, and Don; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his: parents; infant grandson; three sisters, Vera, Verna, and Paula; and brothers, Christopher and Dewey. Ernie's family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Dixie Regional Medical Center for the expertise and loving care they provided for him. What a blessing it is to have such a wonderful facility and caring people in this area. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 22, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. at the Lindsay Ward Chapel, 1150 N. Lindsay Rd., Gilbert, AZ. Visitations will be held Sunday, November 21, 2004 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Bunker's Garden Chapel, 33 N. Bluff , St. George, UT 84770, (435) 673-2454. Bayne J. Clark Bayne Jay Clark, 74, of Idaho Falls, died November 19, 2004, at his home. He was born August 22, 1930, to John Wallace Clark and Floella Robison Clark in Archer, Idaho. He attended Lyman Elementary, Madison High School and Ricks College. He later attended the Western College of Auctioneering in Billings, Montana. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean conflict. He married Nola Haroldsen in 1951and they were later divorced. He spent the majority of his life farming and raising cattle in Hazelton and Rexburg, Idaho, Billings, Montana and St. George, Utah. He also owned and operated The Blackfoot Livestock Auction for several years. He married Loreen Crane and they were later divorced. He married Dorothy Roholt and they were later divorced. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved livestock, especially horses and also enjoyed dancing and western music. Surviving are: Daughter: Karen (Denton) Klingler, Blackfoot, ID. Daughter: Elva Kristine Clark, Idaho Falls, ID. Daughter: Susan (James) Lynch, Billings, MT. 2 Grandchildren. Sister: Glenda Kite of Idaho Falls, ID. Sister: Faye (K.) Frome, St. Anthony, ID. Sister: Gay Nell (Keith) Hinckley, Blackfoot, ID. He was preceded in death by two sons, John Robert Clark, Bryan Jay Clark, two sisters, Orlena Hall and Alta Rowberry, and a brother Wallace Everett "Pat" Clark. Graveside Services will be at 11:30 a.m , Tuesday, November 23, 2004, at the Annis-Little Butte Cemetery. The family will visit with friends at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 23, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, in Idaho Falls. Kenneth Richard Parkes Ivins -- Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend Kenneth Richard Parkes, 75, peacefully returned to his Heavenly Father's loving arms on Thursday, November 18, 2004, due to a serious head injury as the result of a fall. Kenneth was born April 11, 1929 in Salt Lake City, UT, to Charles Edward Parkes and Oda Emilie Johansen. He served in the United States Navy from 1946 to 1948. He married the love of his life, JoAnne Bollschweiler on February 7, 1949 in Salt Lake City, UT. In 1964, they were sealed in the Los Angeles Temple. They lived in UT, CA, WA, FL, and Germany before settling in Ivins, UT where they have resided for the last 16 years. Ken was an avid volunteer receiving the President's Volunteer Service Award from President George W. Bush in 2004. It was a common sight to see him driving his golf cart and picking up trash along the roadsides of Ivins. He was fondly known as "The Tumbleweed Terminator." Ken was an expert craftsman, with woodworking being his specialty. He was a published poet and accomplished writer. He loved to hike, swim, explore, feed his birds and squirrels, and make wood projects with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed taking them and the neighborhood kids for an ice cream in his golf cart. Ken is survived by his: wife, JoAnne, his father-in-law, Clayton Bollschweiler, of Ivins, UT; and his children, Diana (Kurt) van Uitert, of Sandy, UT, Linda (Richard) Ringler, of Queen Creek, AZ, Jon (Michelle) Parkes, of Las Vegas, NV; foster daughter, Mary (John) Cochran, of Fort Duchesne, UT; 11 grandchildren; and 2 great-granddaughters, 1 brother, C. Arthur (Aileen) Parkes, of St. George, UT; and sisters, Maureen (Gregory) Brown, of Salt Lake City, UT, and Myrna (Jack) Cunningham, of St. Maries, ID. He was preceded in death by his: parents: son, Steven Parkes, two sisters, Barbara Lyon and Darlene Parkes. Ken was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. His final gift of service was that of organ donation. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 22, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. at the Ivins Stake Center, 240 E. 1060 S., Ivins, UT. Visitations will be held on Sunday, November 21, 2004 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Spilsbury Mortuary, and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., prior to services, at the Stake Center.
