GEORGE -- Dan Lewis Conger passed away Monday, November 22, 2004, in St. George Utah at age 83. He was born May 10, 1921 in Kaolin, Nevada on the Kapalapa Ranch. He was one of the ten children of Simeon David Conger and Maybelle Rosalie Lewis. He married Renza Myers, on Nov 18, 1941 in the St. George Temple. He was a kind, loving and devoted husband for 63 years on earth and is eternally Renza's. Dan was raised in Nevada's Moapa Valley and in Hurricane, Utah. He was constantly engaged in education from institutions such as Brigham Young University, San Bernardino Valley College, and Chaffey College, both in California. He loved the Spanish language and Spanish speaking people, enjoyed many travels in Mexico and Spain just to learn their culture and to speak their language. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and helped pioneer the Upland California Stake Spanish Branch. He served two stake missions and was honored to be a temple worker in the Los Angeles and St. George temples. Some of his callings included: name extraction; Sunday School Superintendent; Scout leader; along with many other callings throughout his life. Dan served in the Navy during WWII: aviation hydraulics, and air gunnery. He was preparing to serve in the Pacific Theater when the war ended. He was a businessman in Ontario, California, owner of the Faim Ice Machine Co. for 42 years. Dan loved: Sports, a dictionary in every room, memorizing poetry and scripture, he loved a good joke, high adventure boating trips with his family and playing the harmonica. Our Daddy was many things: mechanic, avid reader, gardener, linguist, hiker (Mt. Whitney, Mt. Baldy, and Cucamonga Peak), inventor, singer (barber shop & choir), a sponsor of his girls sewing projects, a story teller, a friend of the poor, a man of God. He is survived by his wife, Renza, and seven children: Thomas Dan Conger (Jimmie Carol) of Crescent City, CA; Kathleen Conger, of Spanish Fork, Utah; Joy Williams (Bob) of Athol, Idaho; Jill Lewis, (Bob) of Orem, Utah; Lorraine Conger, of Orem, Utah; David Conger (Luisa) of Orem, Utah; Raymond Conger (Bonnie) of Orem, Utah; and one sister, Naomi Hite of Lancaster, PA. He has 27 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren. All these love him dearly. All will miss him dearly. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 27, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ivins Stake Center, 240 East 1060 South, Ivins, Utah. A Viewing will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., prior to services, at the Stake Center. Interment will be at the Ivins Cemetery 200 West 400 North, Ivins, Utah. Arrangements are made under the direction of Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 S. Bluff St., St. George, 673-2454. John F. Scheible ST. GEORGE -- John F. Scheible, 69, passed away November 23, 2004 in St. George, Utah. He was born June 10, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan to Frederick C. Scheible and Catherine L. Buck. He married Roberta "Bobbie" M. Turner. They were married in Los Angeles on August 13, 1960. John was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan and later joined the armed forces and served in the Korean War. He came to California in 1959, married and raised his four children in Brea, CA. He was a vice president at General Dynamics for 27 years and later retired to St. George, Utah with his wife, Bobbie, where he enjoyed a lifestyle in which he could golf, hike, fish. . . He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Elks, and the Sunbrook Men's Golf Club. After an 18 month battle with Melanoma, John passed away. He is survived by his loving wife: Bobbie; children: Christine, Eric and Janelle; sons-in-law: Dean and Chad; grandchildren: Zachary, Jacob, Lauren, Brandon, and a new granddaughter due in January. Preceded in death by his son, Fred. Funeral services in Utah will be November 26, 2004, 11 a.m., St. George Catholic Church, 259 W. 200 N., St. George, UT 84770. Services in California will be Tuesday, November 30, 2004, 10 a.m., St. Angela Merici Catholic Church, 585 S. Walnut, Brea, CA 92821. Interment will be in the Loma Vista Memorial Park, Fullerton, CA under the direction of Metcalf Mortuary, (435) 6734221. Evelyn Moore Orton KANAB -- Evelyn Moore Orton, age 83, died Sunday, November 21, 2004 in Panguitch, Utah. Born December 27, 1920 in Junction, Utah to Henry and Leatha Goulding Moore. Evelyn married Cecil Orton in Panguitch, Utah. She was a quiet unassuming person who kept to herself. She loved her nieces and nephews dearly and enjoyed going to the Cabin at Panguitch Lake. Evelyn is survived by her Sisters; Opal Chapen of California, Jean (Mel) Glazier of Kanab, Utah, Peggy (Jack) Olsen of Lehi, Utah, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Cecil Orton, Siblings; Artella Lee, Bud Moore, Lela Hall, Betty Brown, Gary Moore, Joan Moore, and Chad Moore. Funeral Services will he held Friday, November 26, 2004, at 1:00 PM in the Panguitch East LDS Chapel with a viewing at 12:30 PM. Burial will be in the Panguitch City Cemetery under the direction of Mosdell Mortuary. Lynne Anne Moore ST. GEORGE -- Lynne Anne Moore, age 56, passed away November 19, 2004 in Maui, Hawaii. She was born April 10, 1948 in Keokuk, Iowa, a daughter of James King and Ruth Deloris Walker Parker. She married Dr. David Moore on June 20, 2001, in Ouray, Colorado. Lynne was born in Keokuk and raised in Nauvoo, Illinois and Tucson, Arizona. Lynne raised her family in Tucson, as well, until 1979, when they moved to St. George, Utah. She spent her entire life caring for and raising her five children in whom she took great pride. Some of Lynne's greatest passions in life were her grandchildren, traveling, raising flowers, enjoying nature and the outdoors, especially the ocean, sand, and seashells. She was very adventurous, as evidenced by her love for hiking, camping, and biking. Those who really knew her would say that she was fearless, grandly stubborn, vivacious, passionate, genuine, and charming. Lynne had the gift of marvelous insight. She was her own woman. Most importantly, her love for others was unconditional. Surviving family include her: husband, Dr. David Moore, of St. George, UT; children, Sean (Kalei) Barry, of Washington, UT, Scott (Michelle) Barry, of Washington, UT, Sandra (David) Weckerly, of Boulder, CO, Shane (Piper) Barry, of Washington, UT, and Sara (Ryan) Anderson, of Santa Clara, UT; 13 grandchildren; parents, James K. and Ruth D. Parker, of St. George, UT; sisters, Sandy Fraley and Nancy Alguire; and brothers, James Parker and Jay Parker. Lynne had a very close relationship with and was loved by Dr. Moore's children and grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Saturday, November 27, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the Pine Valley Cemetery, Pine Valley, UT. Bluff, St. George, UT 84770, (435) 673-2454. Michael A. Stewart OGDEN -- Michael Aaron Stewart, 32, died Sunday, November 21, 2004. He was born July 18, 1972 in Ogden, a son of William Aurthur and Geneva Lee Bulkley Stewart. Michael was reared and educated in the Ogden and Layton areas. He worked as a security guard. Michael enjoyed sports, the Internet, hunting, rock polishing and his dog, Sadie. Surviving are his father, William of Ogden; four brothers and two sisters, David (Julie) Houchins of Cedar City; twin brother, Clifford Stewart of Ogden; Carl Stewart and Mark Stewart both of Layton; Sheryl (Darrell) Helbert of Burley, ID and Angela (Mike) Thurgood of Sunset. Michael was preceded in death by his mother and four brothers, William Stewart, Jr. Charles Stewart, Walter Stewart and Donald Stewart. Memorial Services will be held on Friday, November 26, 2004 at the Pioneer Ward Chapel, 2115 Jefferson Ave., Ogden, UT at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the mortuary c/o William Stewart.
