She was born August 29, 1913 in Buhl, Idaho to George Washington and Martha Prisbrey Turnbeaugh. She married Elwin Dee Stratton on November 2, 1936 in Cedar City, Utah. He preceded her in death on April 13, 1957. She married Samuel Rudgar Fife on March 30, 1963 in Cedar City, Utah. He preceded her in death in January of 1991. Marrissa was raised mostly in Cedar City and Washington, Utah. She had to leave school after the eighth grade to help support her family; returning to school in 1985 at the age of 72 to complete her high school diploma. She was a member of the daughters of Utah Pioneers and taught 4-H for many years. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many positions including Primary, Sunday school, and Relief Society teacher. She really enjoyed teaching cooking to the ladies. Marrissa owned her own restaurant for many years and enjoyed gardening, needlework, and making everything for her home and family. Survivors include her children Elnora (Dee) Heyborne of West Valley, Utah; Joan (Rex) Fowles of Cedar City, Utah; Patty (Don) Bentley of Yerington, Nevada; and Dee Roy (Sue) Stratton of Cedar City, Utah. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren; 6 sisters, Lockey Stratton, Roetta Merryweather of Cedar City; Georgianna Carpenter of Cedar City; Mary Barbour of Sandy; Betty (Bill) Trijillo of Lodi, CA; Charazade (Gerald) Clark of Clifton, ID; and sisters-in-law Virginia and Faye Turnbeaugh and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands, parents, sister Martha T. Allison, and 3 brothers William, George, and Henery. Funeral Services will be held on Friday December 3, 2004 at 12:00 noon in the old Cedar North Stake Center (61 N. 900 W.). Friends may call Thursday evening from 6-8p.m. and Friday morning from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the Southern Utah Mortuary. Interment will be in the Cedar City Cemetery. Floyd Supernaw KANAB, UTAH -- Floyd Walter "Supe" Supernaw, age 89, passed away Thursday, November 25, 2004 in Kanab, Utah. Born January 3, 1915 in Miama, Oklahoma to Edith Amna Lane and Walter Ray Supernaw. Married Enid Johnson on January 21, 1941 in Hollywood, California, later solemnized in the St. George Temple. He was an Army Veteran of World War II. Floyd was a member of the LDS Church and was active in several service organizations, including being a life member of the BPOE Cedar Lodge, Past President of the Lion's Club, and a member of the American Legion. He worked for the National and State Parks system in Zion's Canyon, Bryce, the North Rim, and Sun Valley, Idaho. He enjoyed cooking, having been restaurant manager at Wahweap Marina and supervising chef for Parry's Lodge in Kanab. He also worked on the construction of the Glen Canyon Dam. Floyd also enjoyed hunting (he was an expert marksman), trap shooting and fishing. Survivors include wife Enid of Kanab; children Allan (Marjanne) Supernaw of Page, Arizona, Michelle (Ron) Aulger of Kanab, and Susan (Ron) Evans of Page; sisters Edith Voorhees of Lamer, Missouri and Bernadine Gray of Lawrence, Kansas; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sister and brothers Violet Supernaw, Lane Supernaw, twin brother Lloyd Supernaw, Garland Supernaw and Wesley Supernaw. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 2, 2004 at 11:00 AM in the Kanab Utah Stake Center. Viewing will be held Thursday morning from 9:45-10:45 AM at the Stake Center. Burial will be in the Kanab Cemetery under the direction of Mosdell Mortuary.
