Joe was born on December 19, 1918 in Mink Creek Idaho to George Fredrick Egley and Mary A. Hanson. He was the 3rd child of seven. He lived in Mink Creek until he was called on a mission to the Western States Mission. After returning, he enlisted in the Air Force and became a flight engineer on B-17's. He flew 25 successful missions in Europe during WWII. He married Gay Sullivan and together they spent the majority of their life in Casper, Wyoming operating gas stations and raising wheat. He was successful in raising wheat in an area where most people didn't believe that it could be done. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Joe also loved to fly. He was known for always being a hard worker and friendly to all. He was survived by his wife Gay, three children, and 16 Grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday April 4, 2005, 12:00 in the Hurricane Stake Center. (677 South 700 West) A Visitation will be held two hours prior on Monday.
