Bill was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle. He was born on July 26, 1918, in Park City, Utah, to William Benjamin and Mary Irene Rolfe. He married his high school sweetheart, Christine Abeyta on June 14, 1941. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Los Angeles LDS Temple in 1972. They spent 64 happy years together. He started his career as a miner in Park City, served his country during World War II in the Navy where he learned to become a welder and then worked for the Chrysler Corp. He ended his career as an employee of the church for 25 years before retiring to Richfield, Utah. He enjoyed his walks and always visited friends along his way. His grandchildren will always remember grandpa wearing a favorite hat each time they saw him. He had a great talent for music, genealogy and gardening. Bill had a great understanding and knowledge of the principles of the gospel. He loved the church and enjoyed missionary work. He and Christine served two missions; one in Roanoke, Virginia and one in Cove Fort. He left a rich legacy of music, hard work and service to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He died content and will be honored, loved and respected by all who associated with him. Bill loved us all very much as we did him. He is survived by his wife, Christine, Richfield; children, Dan (Marilyn) Abeyta, San Marcos, CA; Jim (Margaret) Rolfe, Newbury Park, CA; and Jeannie Foundas, Richfield; 16 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter; and a sister, Ila Shelton, Redmond, WA. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dae Rolfe; and two sisters, Fern Tippett and Zoe Gates Brown. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 5, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the Richfield 5th Ward LDS Stake Center. Friends may call at the Stake Center on Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Park City Cemetery at 4:30 p.m. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina, Gunnison and Manti.
