She was born October 30, 1907, in Omaha, Nebraska, a daughter of Frances and Ellen Heafy Flanagan. Kathleen attended school in Omaha and was a ballerina during her early years. She married Raymond Lebs in 1927 in Omaha, Nebraska, and enjoyed being a stay-at-home Mom. After Raymond's passing in 1942, she moved to California where she worked as a seamstress for Arleene of Hollywood for the ensuing 40 years. Kathleen married Robert Armstrong in 1955, and after he passed away in 1980, she moved to Camarillo, California, where she resided until moving to Hurricane in 2003. Surviving family include her: daughters, Irene Rhyne, of Coulterville, CA, and Patsy (Bert) Peters, of Hurricane, UT; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her: parents; both husbands, Raymond and Robert; brothers, Dan, Frances, and Joseph; sisters, Marie and Alice; and two grandchildren, Scott and Mark. Memorial services will be held Thursday, April 7, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. at Hurricane Care & Rehabilitation, 416 N. State St. Arrangements are made under the direction of Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 S. Originally published April 5, 2005 Ralph Woolley Bayles "Will Be Missed" Ralph Woolley Bayles, much-loved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, age 79 passed away April 3, 2005. We will miss him so much. Born September 28, 1925 in Cedar City, Ut to Herman Evans and Ethel Woolley Bayles. Married Sara Benson on July 2, 1947 in Parowan, Ut. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George Temple. Ralph was raised in Parowan, Ut. After graduating from Parowan High School, he was called to serve in the Air Force as a pilot instructor and trainer during World War 2. After his military service, he attended the University of Utah where he earned his bachelors degree in engineering. He began his career at Mountain Bell - now Qwest - and worked there for 40 years. Ralph was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He and Sara served side by side on a full time mission to Fort Lauderdale, Fla. in 1989 and as temple workers in the Salt Lake Temple for 10 years. Ralph had a strong testimony of Jesus Christ and His love for us, which he shared often. He loved to travel. They have made many good friends along their way. Ralph's favorite past time was playing bridge with anyone up to challenging his skills. Preceded in death by both parents and only sibling, Alice B. Davis. He is survived by his wife, Sara, daughters Pam (Randy) Nelson, Holly (Fidel) DeHart, grandchildren Noelle, Sara (Erik), Craig, Samantha (Eric), Breann and Morgan, along with 6 3/4 great-grandchildren. Gilson HURRICANE - Anna Klara Gilson, 70, returned to her Heavenly Father on Sunday, April 3, 2005 at McKay-Dee Hospital. She was born January 5, 1935 in Weselberg, Germany, a daughter of Karl and Anna Bastian Hartkorn. On May 20, 1959, Anna married Richard Gilson in Pirmasens, Germany. She had lived in South Ogden, Utah for 25 years and moved to Hurricane, Utah three years ago. Anna was a charter member of Holy Family Catholic Church in South Ogden and was last a member of Saint George Catholic Church in St. George, Utah. Anna was the top salesperson in the fine jewelry department at Ogden Z.C.M.I. for over 20 years. She loved her daily walks, gardening, camping and spending time with her family and friends. Most of all, she enjoyed entertaining on her patio, appreciating the wildlife and the beautiful vistas. Anna maintained friendships that lasted her entire lifetime and spanned the globe. She never had a friend that she didn't keep. Surviving are her husband Richard, of Hurricane, UT; one son and one daughter, Richard (Katherine) Gilson, Florence KY; Carol Parsons, Roy, UT; and three grandchildren, Eric, Matt and Sydney. Anna is also survived by one sister, Rosemarie (Arno) Sehy, Rheinhausen, Germany. Preceding her in death were her parents and brother, Karl Hartkorn, brother-in-law, Ken Worthen, niece Dena Bryson and grandson, Bobby Gilson. Funeral Mass will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1100 East 5550 South, South Ogden. Originally published April 5, 2005 Lorin Henderson KANAB - Lorin Maurice Henderson, age 50, died Saturday, April 2, 2005 in Houston, Texas as a result of injuries from a motorcycle accident. He was born February 16, 1955 in Kanab, Utah to Lorin Reed and Elda Judd Henderson. He married Cheryl Lynn Atherley, later divorced, and Alice Marie Cunningham, later divorced. He had three children with Cheryl, and adopted and raised Alice's three children. Lorin was a kind thoughtful man who deeply cared for his children and grandchildren. They were the light of his life. He was currently living in Katy, Texas, where he worked as a power dispatcher for Cal-Pine Electric. He was very knowledgeable at computers and enjoyed taking pictures, riding his motorcycle, and being with his dog Emma. Survivors include children Shawn Lorin Henderson of Arizona, Jeremy (Lacey) Henderson, Heather Mich'l Henderson, Logan Henderson and LaShelle (Aaron) Dobson all of Apache Junction, Arizona, and Lindsay Henderson currently in the U.S Army.; parents Reed and Elda Henderson of Kanab, Utah; in-laws Ted and Yvonne Atherley of Kanab, Utah; sister Lynn (Mike) Marshall of Salina, Kansas; brothers Dean (Vicki) Henderson of Reno, Nevada, and Joe (Cindy) Henderson of Green River, Wyoming; and nine grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 9, 2005 at 11:00 AM in the Kanab Utah Stake Center. Friends may call on the family from 9:45-10:45 A.M. at the Stake Center on Saturday. Originally published April 5, 2005 Patricia Gai Horsley Patricia Gai Horsley, 53, beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away the evening of April 1st, 2005, after a long, debilitating illness, at Evanston Regional Hospital, Evanston, Wyoming. Patricia was born March 9th, 1952, to Ira Corbet Stone and Margaret Irene Loutensock, Los Angeles, California. Patricia graduated from Dixie High School and Dixie College, St. George, Utah. She married Richard Allen Horsley, June 9th, 1972, in the St. George L.D.S. Temple, St. George, UT. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many auxiliaries in the communities of Wamsutter and Farson, Wyoming. She worked part-time as Post Master Relief and teachers aide. In her presence one felt welcomed and important. Pat was known for her infectious smile, hearty laugh, and being a friend to all. Her family was her life. She was an example of service, faith and testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ. Patricia is the mother of six sons and grandmother of three. She is survived by her loving husband of almost 33 years, Richard, sons, Richard Jr. and Charitie, granddaughter, Kami Lynn of South Weber, UT, Jason and Staci, grandson, Taylor of Afton, WY, Matthew of Farson, WY, Jared and Amanda of Idaho Falls, ID, Justin and RaeLyn, grandson, Nathan of Ogden, UT, Chris Horsley of Farson, WY, parents, Ira and Margaret Stone of St. George, UT, sisters, Sandy and Bert Price of Payson, UT, Denise and Jim McArthur of St. George, UT and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
