We will miss him so much. Born September 28, 1925 in Cedar City, Ut to Herman Evans and Ethel Woolley Bayles. Married Sara Benson on July 2, 1947 in Parowan, Ut. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George Temple. Ralph was raised in Parowan, Ut. After graduating from Parowan High School, he was called to serve in the Air Force as a pilot instructor and trainer during World War 2. After his military service, he attended the University of Utah where he earned his bachelors degree in engineering. He began his career at Mountain Bell- now Qwest - and worked there for 40 years. Ralph was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He and Sara served side by side on a full time mission to Fort Lauderdale, Fla. in 1989 and as temple workers in the Salt Lake Temple for 10 years. Ralph had a strong testimony of Jesus Christ and His love for us, which he shared often. He loved to travel. They have made many good friends along their way. Ralph's favorite past time was playing bridge with anyone up to challenging his skills. Preceded in death by both parents and only sibling, Alice B. Davis. He is survived by his wife.Sara, daughters Pam (Randy) Nelson, Holly (Fidel) DeHart, grandchildren Noelle, Sara (Erik), Craig, Samantha (Eric), Breann and Morgan, along with 6 3/4 great-grandchildren. Hall was born July 8, 1919 in Hurricane, Utah to Orson Charles and Philena Pickett Hall. He died April 4, 2005 at his home in St. George, Utah. He married Deslie Dalton on November 25, 1949 in the St. George Temple. His early years were spent in St. George and Pine Valley and he graduated from Dixie High School. He was a member of the LDS Church and served a mission to the North Central States. Julian enlisted in the Marine Corp during WWII and served in Japan. He worked at Dixie College, Pickett Lumber Co. and retired from Elmer's Home Center. He loved sports and played tennis, basketball, softball, was on a bowling team for KDXU, and also loved to play horseshoes. He was an excellent handyman and enjoyed making things out of wood as well as cooking in Dutch ovens for his friends and family. He served as an ordinance worker in the St. George Temple, and had many church callings. Julian is survived by his children, Julie (Tom) McConnell, Jeanine (Mike) Moss, Dale Hall, and Randy Hall all of St. George; eight grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; sisters, Adelia Rushforth of Fruit Heights, Utah and Eldene (Breeze) Stewart of St. George, Utah. He was preceded in death by his wife, Deslie; his parents; a brother, Orlo Hall; a sister Verle Baumann; and a grandson, Kelly Moss. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 7, 2005, 11 a.m., St. George LDS Stake Center, 500 North Bluff St., St. George, Utah. Visitations will be Wednesday, April 6, 6-8 p.m., Metcalf Mortuary, 288 W. St. George Blvd. and Thursday, 9:30-10:30 a.m., prior to services at the Stake Center. GEORGE - Emily Appleberry Linnell, 77, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2005, in St. George, Utah due to heart complications following months of chemotherapy, radiation and surgery for inflammatory breast cancer. Emily was born August 27, 1927, in Wilmington, North Carolina to Carrol Shingleton and William Pembrook Appleberry. She was very proud of her southern heritage. During the Depression her family moved to Long Beach, California where she met her sweetheart, William Lee Linnell. They married in 1948 in the Mesa, Arizona Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Three children were born to them while living in Long Beach, Susan, Lori and Scott. The family lived in Fullerton, California for 20 years, then moved to Upland, California and then to St. George in 1993 for retirement. Emily was a teacher, avid reader and gospel scholar. She taught classes for years in genealogy and the scriptures. She was also a requested speaker at many Church firesides and conferences. She served faithfully in many Church organizations, including music, presidencies and teaching positions. Primarily, she loved her Savior, Jesus Christ. She is survived by her husband, Lee; their children, Susan, Lori Brinkerhoff (Dirk) and Scott; Lori's children, Dain (Malinda), Scott (Erin), Jordan Parks (Quin), Stacy and Kathryn; a greatgrandson, Asher, son of Scott and Erin; and her older brother, Tommy Appleberry. A graveside service will be held at Loma Vista Memorial Park in Fullerton, California on Friday, April 8, 2005, at 10:00 a.m., under the direction of Metcalf Mortuary 435-673-4221. Originally published April 6, 2005 Faye Smith Worthen PANGUITCH - Faye Smith Worthen, 83, passed away March 31, 2005 at her daughter's home in Kanab. Faye was born May 20, 1921 in Circleville, Utah to Albert Joseph and Sarah Alice Robinson Smith. She lived with her family on the family farm in Circleville until she was 15 and met and married Verd R. Worthen on January 20, 1937 in the St. George Temple. They were always together until Verd passed away on January 9, 1997. Faye was a remarkable woman with many talents. She was known as Busy Bee or The Honey Lady, she and her husband operated Verd's Best Honey for 40 years. She also helped with building two homes, one in Pocatello, Idaho and their current home in Panguitch. She enjoyed her yard and worked very hard in making it a showplace. She started decorating for Christmas in October and has been able to do so until recently with declining health. She loved to go fishing, getting fire wood and spending time at the Panguitch Lake cabin. She also loved to travel, sew, crochet and writing poetry She was a member of the Lady Lions Club, the Red Hat Club, Home Makers Club and played in the Panguitch Rhythm Band. She helped at the Thrift Store and anywhere else she was needed. She loved to spend time with friends, playing skipbow, dominoes, canasta and rummy cube. They would often slip off to shop or go to lunch. She was an active member of the LDS Church. She served as ward and stake dance director; taught in the Young Women's program and the Relief Society. Faye loved to sing. She would sing every morning and most of the day and she would sing when she was in pain. She is survived by a daughter, Fayann (Tim) Christensen of Kanab; daughter-in-law, ReNae Worthen of Pocatello, ID; brother, Grover Smith; grandchildren, Verd (Diane) Christensen, Janee (Troy) Nielsen, Blaine (Andrea) Christensen, William (Billy) Christensen, Randolph Wagner, Travis (Melony) Worthen and Jason (Liz) Worthen; great-grandchildren, Sean Christensen, Shandra Nielsen, Kira Nielsen, T.J. Worthen, Christa Worthen, Liz Watters, Terry Wilbanks, Carma Jean Waters, Taylor ReNae Worthen. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Verd; daughter Naomi Worthen; son, James Worthen; parents; sisters, Estella Riggs, Idona Barker, Edith Hoffman; brothers, Clarance Smith, Kay Smith. Bynum David Eugene Bynum, 46, died April 4, 2005, in Mesquite, Nev. David was born Nov. 26, 1958, in Bellflower, Calif.
