Bill was born April 19, 1941 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Florence Alane Siciliano Diaz and William Joseph Diaz. He attended school in Salt Lake and graduated from Granite High School. He served in the Marine Corps Reserves from 1961 to 1965 with the rank of Corporal. He worked at Kennecott Copper for 28 years and also was a draftsman and floor layer. He enjoyed coaching Little League baseball, football, and track and field. Bill was an avid University of Utah sports fan and was an usher for the Utah Jazz for a short time. Bill and his wife June were married September 20, 1971 in Elko, NV and renewed their vows on September 20, 2003 in St. George, Ut. He is survived by his wife June Katherine Pirente Diaz of St. George, his mother Florence Diaz, sister Patti of Murray, Ut. and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is also survived by his two sons, Paul (Jennifer) Breinholt and Todd Breinholt of Salt Lake City, Ut., stepsons Stuart Campbell of Ogden, Ut and Justin Campbell of West Jordan, Ut. He leaves 6 grandchildren; Parker and London Breinholt of Salt Lake City; Madison, Relley and Emily Campbell of Ogden, Ut and Mitchell Campbell of Taylorsville, Ut. Funeral Services will be held at Calvary Chapel, 3922 S. Pioneer Rd, St. George, Ut on Saturday, April 9th at 11 AM with interment at Tonaquint Cemetery in St. George. Family and friends are invited to the viewings at Heideman Mortuary, 170 S. Mall Dr., St. George, Ut from 6-8 PM on Friday, April 8th and one hour before the funeral services at Calvary Chapel. The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Gregory Litton of Salt Lake City and his staff and also Dr. Joseph D. Te of St. George, Ut and his staff who provided such excellent care to Bill during his long illness. Originally published April 8, 2005 Robert 'Hal' Parker LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - Robert "Hal" Parker, age 79, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2005, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born May 13, 1925, in Joseph, Utah, a son of Robert Harold and Gladys Andersen Parker. He married Colleen Anderson on September 1, 1946. Born and raised in Joseph, Utah, he attended South Sevier High School in Monroe, Utah. Serving in WWII, in the U.S. 8th Air Force, 1st Division, 401st Bomb Group, he flew 35 missions. He attended Brigham Young University, and graduated from the University of Washington, School of Dentistry. After practicing dentistry in American Fork, Utah, he attended St. Louis University, School of Dentistry, graduating with a Master's Degree in Orthodontics in 1962. Moving to Las Vegas, he practiced Orthodontics until 1989, when he retired. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served as Mission President of the Columbia South Carolina Mission from 1978 to 1981, as a member of the Nevada Las Vegas Mission Presidency for 10 years, and from 1995 to 1997, as Director of the Independence Missouri Visitors Center. He was a farmer and rancher at heart who loved the outdoors. He is survived by his: children, Judi Ann (Stanford) Nielson and Robert Jeffery (Lisa) Parker, both of Las Vegas, NV, and Jodi Lynn (Wade) Brooksby of Tualatin, OR; 11 grandchildren, Darik (Emily), Garrett, and Dane Nielson, Devin (Scott) Bennett, Kimberly, Cameron, and Brandon Parker, Jaimie (Michael) Keller, London, Sydney and Britain Brooksby; two great-grandchildren, Jalen Keller and Ty Nielson; brother, Juel, George Rex, and Gordon Parker; and sisters, Geraldine Aldous Nordfors, Jackie Werts, Patsy Greenwood, Bonnie Evans, and Peggy Jensen. He is preceded in death by his: parents; wife, Colleen Anderson Parker; and sisters, Colleen Saunders and Sally Turpin. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 9, 2005, at 1:00 p.m. (Nevada time) at the Las Vegas Lakes Stake Center, 1801 Monte Cristo Way, Las Vegas. A viewing will be held on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until time of services. Interment will be Monday, April 11, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. (Utah time) at the Monroe Cemetery, in Monroe, Utah. GEORGE - Una Pickett, age 93, died of cancer in St. George on Wednesday, April 6, 2005. She was born June 5, 1911, in St. George, a daughter of Horatio Pickett and Philena Hunt Pickett. Una was the last child to be born and the last child to die of Horatio Pickett, a Dixie Pioneer, one of the first to enter the valley in 1861, at age 13. Educated in St. George, she married Nolan Andreason, divorced, later married Emerson B. Mitchell, divorced, and lived in Salt Lake City. For 35 years, she was employed by Union Pacific Railroad as secretary to the manager. Upon retirement, she spent five years as an Ordinance Worker in the Salt Lake Temple, served missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Scotland and Northern Ireland, and then another in the Canada Calgary Mission. Returning in 1985, to live in her beloved Dixie, she served for 18 more years in the St. George Temple. She had a beautiful voice and enjoyed many years singing with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and the Salt Lake Sweet Adelines. Una is survived by many, many dear nieces and nephews, and spent her last days in the home and care of one of them, Eldene Hall Stewart and her husband, Gale (Breeze). Preceding her in death were her brothers and sisters, Philena Hall, Ann Hall, Paul Pickett, Jessie Pickett, Laverne Cox, and half brothers and sisters, Horatio Jr., Josephine Workman, Harriet Woodbury, Mary, Martha, Susanna Gubler, Leo, Blanche, Huron, Henry, Ellis, and Charles. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 9, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. at the St. George East Stake Center, 440 S. 300 E. There will be a viewing from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m., prior to services, at the Stake Center. Interment will be in the St. George City Cemetery. Originally published April 8, 2005 Wintha Fern Mino ST. GEORGE - Wintha Fern Mino, 85, passed away April 6, 2005 at her home in St. George, UT. She was born on January 27, 1920 in Loup City, Nebraska. She was married to Ken Mino for over 50 years, he passed away in March of 1999. She married William Persall in Las Vegas, NV on February 24, 2000. She was raised in Nebraska by her adopted parents, David and Velma Davidson. Most of her married life she lived and worked in Burbank, CA and moved to St. George in April of 1992. Wintha loved to design and sew her own clothing. She also loved to keep notes on events throughout the year and then she would create a long letter to send everyone for Christmas. She enjoyed playing solitaire on her computer until her eyes failed her. She is survived by her husband and caregiver, Bill Persall; sons, Robert (Carol) A. Thiel and David (Leslie) J. Thiel; ten grandchildren; and 141¬2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her two daughters, Barbara Ann Thiel and Sharon Kay Thiel; and her husband, Ken Mino. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Bill, who was so attentive and loving, also, thanks to the Hospice Alliance Team.
