Campbell Douglas A. Campbell passed away April 17, 2005. Doug was born August 1, 1928 in Neola Utah. He will be welcomed into heaven by his loving wife, grandson, many friends and family. Doug was gregarious, friendly and very active in any community he was a part of. His heart was bigger than any man's body and his arms were always open. He loved to be in the outdoors. He spent his younger years hunting, fishing, camping and traveling around the nation. His elder years were spent out in the open desert on his four wheelers with friends. Doug was known for his love of people and generous nature. He was very active in the LDS church, Mayor of Grace Idaho, on City Council in Smithfield Utah, President of his park community in St George Utah, active in the Lions club, and served in the Merchant marines and Army during WWII. He loved to help others and was always a joy to be around. He is survived by his children Bruce Jeanie Campbell, Justin Lois Campbell, Robyn Blaine Burton, Rebecca C White, 13 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 3 sisters and a whole lot of friends. A viewing will be held at Heideman Mortuary St George Utah Tuesday April 19, 2005 6-7pm. Services will be held at the Thatcher LDS church Thatcher Idaho Thursday April 21, 2005. Viewing will begin at 12:30 and the funeral service will follow at 2 pm. Originally published April 19, 2005 Laura Desedare HURRICANE - Laura Desedare passed away April 15, 2005 after a long illness. Laura was born March 10, 1929 in King City, Calif. to Mary and LeRoy Burden. Laura loved life and most of all her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Arnold and LeRoy, and sister, Geneva. She is survived by her sisters, Mary Yant of Pasco, Wash., and Gladys Baudour of Salinas, Calif. She also leaves her loving children: daughter, Rose (Mel) Dobbins of Corpus Christi, Texas; Georgia (Gil) Lopez of Hacienda Heights, Calif.; Loretta (Bill) Russell of Hurricane; and a son, Dennis Desedare, also of Hurricane; seven grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Laura was a gentle soul and will be missed dearly. No services planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local animal shelter recognizing Laura's love of animals. Hunsaker loving husband, father and grandfather age 82 passed away April 17, 2005 in Nephi, UT.He was born February 6, 1923 in Honeyville, UT to Parley and Lima Seal Hunsaker. He served in the Army during WWII in the Pacific Theater after which he served an LDS Mission to the Eastern States.He married Marilyn Agnes Prey on January 16, 1960 in the Mesa, AZ. Temple.He enjoyed the outdoors, his garden, spending time with his family and making new friends and especially enjoyedserving in the St. George Temple.We will miss his stories, cheerful disposition and contagious smile. He is survived by children, Justin (Nicole) Hunsaker of Spanish Fork, UT; Michelle (John) Ruell of Manti, UT; seven grandchildren; sister-in-law, Helen Hunsaker of Honeyville, UT.Preceded in death by parents, wife, Marilyn; sister, Gwen Hunsaker; brothers, Dale, Norman and Ralph. Originally published April 19, 2005 Florence M. Schlitt ST. GEORGE - Florence M. Schlitt, 87, passed away Friday, April 15, 2005, at her home in St. George. She was born September 9, 1917, in Columbus, Ohio to Harold and Mary (Jones) McCall. She married William J. Schlitt, Jr. on December 11, 1938, at 10th Avenue Baptist Church in Columbus, Ohio. Florence was raised in Columbus where she graduated from North High School in 1934 and from Ohio State University in 1938. After living in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Idaho Falls, Idaho, she and her husband retired to St. George, Utah in 1985. She was an active member of the St. George Community Church where she held several offices, including serving as the clerk to the Board of Trustees for 17 years. She was also an active resident at The Meadows where she coordinated the non-denominational church services. She is survived by her: son, William Joseph (Anne Marie Ritchie) Schlitt, III, of Knightsen, CA; and daughter, Mary S. Kostalos, of Pittsburgh, PA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, and son-in-law, John Kostalos, Jr. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Originally published April 19, 2005 Berta Gullich Williams CEDAR CITY - Berta Gullich Williams, 78, passed away Friday April 15, 2005 at Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George UT. She was born May 15, 1926 in Solnhofen Germany to Johann Von Nepomuk Mayinger, and Wilhelmine Bertha Gullich. She married Joseph F. Williams on June 16, 1947 in Munich Germany, and later solemnized in the St. George Temple. She was preceded in death by her spouse Joseph F. Williams. Berta was a very active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and loved to cook for others. She is survived by her son Joseph Williams Jr. Las Vegas (NV) and a Grandson Jeremy Williams. Funeral Services will be held Friday April 22, 2005 at 11:00 am in the Kanarraville LDS ward Chapel. Friends may call Thursday April 21, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Southern Utah Mortuary and on Friday one hour prior to the services in Kanarraville. Interment Will be at the Kanarraville City Cemetery.
