GEORGE - Ferrel Wellington Bybee, born November 19, 1916, in Cornish, Cache County, Utah, passed away Friday, April 15, 2005, in St. George at 88 years of age. He is the son of Frank A. and Eva C. Bybee, and brother of Barney Campbell Bybee (deceased), Frank Arthur Bybee, Jr. (deceased), Zara Bybee Skidmore, John Raleigh Bybee, Amy Bybee Hymas, Walter Clayton Bybee, Larry Curtis Bybee, and Eugene Cassady Bybee. From 1938 to 1941, he served as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Brazil. He was a cannoneer in the 42nd Rainbow Division with the U.S. Army, earning one Service Stripe, one Overseas Service Stripe, the American Defense Ribbon, the American Campaign Medal, two Bronze Battle Stars, and World War II Victory Medal. On May 21, 1942, he married Willa Daniels, with whom he shared 58 years until her death on August 9, 2000. He worked for Blue Cross/Blue Shield from 1956 until retirement in 1981. He and his wife spent their life in service, first in the raising of their seven children, and then as missionaries for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Swiss Temple, the Washington D.C. Temple, the S o Paulo, Brazil Temple, the Chicago Temple, and as a Church Service Missionary in the Salt Lake City Family History Center. Now, happily reunited with his wife, Ferrel is survived by their children, Ron (Ricki) Bybee, of San Angelo, TX, Barbara (Terry) Glover, of Logan, UT, Lynn (Carrol) Bybee, of Salt Lake City, UT, Bruce (Irma) Bybee, of Selma, CA, Kent (Kristen) Bybee, of Heber City, UT, Billie Kay (Alan) Griffin, of Roy, UT, and Colleen (Brad) Hales, of St. George. He is also survived by 42 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 22, 2005, at 12:00 noon, with a viewing from 10:30 a.m. until time of services, at the Val Verda 1st Ward Chapel, 2633 S. 50 W., Bountiful, UT. Interment will be at Lakeview Memorial Park in Bountiful. Arrangements are made under the direction of Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 S. Bluff St., St. George, UT, (435) 673-2454. Originally published April 20, 2005 Irene Florance Chipman Cannon Irene Florance Chipman Cannon, 95, formerly of Utah and long time Honolulu resident passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2005 in Stafford, Virginia at the home of her daughter. She was born June 29, 1909 in Magrath, Alberta, Canada to Adelia Betsy Greene and John Issac Chipman. She was the youngest of eight children. Irene married George Q. Cannon on October 19, 1927 in Heber City, Utah and was later sealed in the Hawaiian Temple. They were married 70 years. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served in many stake and ward capacities. She was president of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers in Hawaii, served in many community organizations along with her husband and was involved in the Red Cross during World War II. She will be greatly missed and always remembered for her love and devotion to her husband and family, her gracious hospitality and "aloha" spirit, most wonderful sense of humor and positive attitude, creative ability, homemaking skills, and so much more. A very compassionate person - always aware of and ready to offer help to those in need and always saw the good in everyone she met. Irene especially loved little children and had five of her own: Jeanne, George Q., Mary Jane, Vance and Mary Jean. Preceded in death by her husband, two daughters, parents, five sisters and two brothers. She has three living children: George Q. III (Ardes) of St. George; Vance C. (Donna) of Las Vegas, Nevada; and Mary Jean Slater (Bruce) of Stafford, Virginia. She has nine grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Services will be at Larkin Mortuary in Salt Lake City, Utah on Saturday, April 23, 2005. Viewing at 8:30 a.m. and funeral at 10:00 a.m. Interment in the Salt Lake City Cemetery. Originally published April 20, 2005 Raymond Robert Lynch CENTRAL - Raymond Robert Lynch, 71, died Monday, April 18, 2005, at his home in Central, Utah. He was born June 13, 1933 in Anacortis, Wash. He is survived by his wife: Tina; son: Tom (Penny) Guthrie, of Murrieta, Calif.; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and sisters: Joyce Leppard and Shirley Birch, both of California.
