GEORGE - Ellen Tronson Hamilton, 76, passed away August 15, 2005 in St. George, Utah. She was born January 6, 1929 in Phoenix, Arizona to George Gates Faulkner and Berta Frances Moore Faulkner. After losing her father to a heart ailment at the age of four, she moved to California with her mother and a younger brother. She married Kenneth Lavere Hamilton in Las Vegas, Nevada on January 10, 1959. After her husband's retirement they moved to LaVerkin, Utah where they have lived for the past 20 years. They became members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1st Ward. They were married and sealed in the St. George Temple. She is survived by her husband Kenneth, LaVerkin, Utah; her daughters, Deedra (Boyd) McGaha, Sharron Young and Patricia (Mike) Gehring all of California and Nancy Hamilton of Florida; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and her brothers, Jack Faulkner of California and Ralph Saxton of Australia. She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Michaele McCloskey. Graveside services will be held Thursday, August 18, 10 a.m., LaVerkin City Cemetery, LaVerkin, Utah. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 17, 6-8 p.m., Hurricane Valley Mortuary, 140 N. Main, Hurricane, Utah. Arrangements are under the direction of Metcalf Mortuary (435) 673-4221. GEORGE - Mary Agness Higley, age 63, passed away on Friday, August 12, 2005, at her home in St. George. Mary was born May 16, 1942, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Anthony Joseph and Dora Averett Zucca. She married Jay LaVell Higley in Salt Lake City on April 23, 1981. Born and raised in Salt Lake City, Mary attended Judge Memorial High School. She graduated from Henegars Business College in April of 1961, then returned to complete her high school diploma at Granite High School, where she graduated, Class of 1962. In February 1955, she was a member of the Girl Scout Troop 35. Mary loved to entertain people with her accordion. After her schooling, she worked for Deseret Pharmaceutical Company, Inc., Granite School District, and Reams Grocery Store. For health reasons, Mary moved from Salt Lake City to St. George in 2002. Mary was a past member of Daughters of Utah Pioneers, and she loved genealogy. She enjoyed camping, fishing, and playing bingo. Mary loved her family, especially her grandchildren. Surviving family include her: husband, Jay, of St. George; sons, Steve (Marie) May, of Magna, UT, and Tim May, of Taylorsville, UT; stepdaughter, Karen (Steve) Winters, of Riverton, UT; stepson, Jerry (Kerri) Higley, of St. George, UT; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; mother, Dora Zucca, of Taylorsville, UT; and brother, Anthony Zucca, of Salt Lake City, UT. She is preceded in death by her father, Anthony Zucca, and brother, John Zucca. Memorial services will be held Saturday, August 20, 2005, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S. Redwood Rd., Taylorsville, UT.
