Ralph was born on March 10, 1932 in Springville, Utah to Joseph Alton Harker and Sara Virginia Packard. He was the oldest of five children, three boys and two girls. He spent his life working outside running heavy equipment and building highways all over the West. He loved to live in new places and moved often throughout his life. He is a great example of the value of integrity and hard work to all his children and grandchildren. Ralph enjoyed life and meeting new people. He could strike up a conversation with anyone and made friends with everyone. His sense of humor lightened all of our lives, as did his wide array of witty sayings. He loved western movies and could watch them for 24 hours a day. He also loved big band era music, which touched his soul and brought him much peace in his final days. Family was Ralph's greatest treasure and in the end all he wanted was more time with them. He enjoyed being with his sisters, brothers, daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a fount of stories and remembrances of the past. His most beloved and tender feelings were always for his sweetheart, Marilyn, to whom he was married for 46 years.
