She was born April 27, 1914 in Otto, Wyoming to Neils E. and Esther Dalley Winters. She married William Vernal Shakespear, January 13, 1942 in the St. George Temple. He preceded her in death March 14, 1981. She married Malen A. Mecham on May 6, 1989 in St. George, Utah. As an active member of the LDS Church she has served a full time mission to North Carolina, was ward choir director, teacher in auxiliary organizations, inservice teacher, taught the temple preparation classes, was stake genealogy library director, loved singing and sang with the ward choir, Relief Society choir and with her sisters in a trio. She taught school in Bryce Valley for over 25 years and loved to use creative approaches to help her students learn. She was a member of the DUP, wrote stories, poetry and personal histories. She was creative and active her entire life and was a devoted wife, mother and servant of Jesus Christ. She is survived by her husband Malen of Tropic; children, President Donald V. (Karma) Shakespear serving as LDS Mission President to Resistecia, Argentina, Dean (Robyn) Shakespear of Herriman, Franz (Margaret) Shakespear and Carl (Kay) Shakespear both of Tropic, Palma (Roland) Miles and Val (Susie) Shakespear both of Cedar City; 36 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; brothers and sister, Donald (Alvaretta) Winters of Otto, WY, Harold (Ann) Winters of Burlington, WY, Arlene Findlay of Richfield. She is preceded in death by her first husband, William Vernal Shakespear; daughter, Ann Thornton; brother, E. Francis Winters; sisters, Leona Stewart, June Shakespear, Elaine Warren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2005 at 12:00 Noon in the Tropic LDS Ward Chapel. Friends and family may call at the ward chapel in Tropic on Saturday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Tropic Cemetery. Prior to Marian's death, she indicated that in lieu of flowers, she requested that donations to the Church Perpetual Education Fund be made through local bishops. Originally published August 23, 2005 Sharon Leah Branham Stirling LAS VEGAS - Sharon Leah Branham Stirling, loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, peacefully passed away in her home with family at her side, in North Las Vegas where she and her husband, Culbert, have resided for the last 42 years. Sharon was born January 11, 1942, in Antigo, Wisconsin, the fifth of six children born to Cecil V. Branham and Hazel Margaret Beors. She married Culbert Means Stirling October 27, 1962 in the St. George, Utah Temple for time and all eternity. She has since served as a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend along with many callings in The church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She is survived by her husband, Culbert Stirling; by her children; Saundra and Mark Harris, Michelle and John Hulme, Ross and Lynette Stirling, Shane and Lisa Stirling, Trent and Wendy Stirling, Ethelyn and Daniel Campos and her 23 grandchildren. Also survived by her siblings; Iola (Pat) McCorkle, Eldine (Dean) Branham, Ramona Allen and Mark Branham. Preceding her in death were her parents, Cecil and Hazel Branham and her brother, Merlin Branham. Visitations will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday, Aug. 23 at Bunker Brothers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. N. Services will be held on Wednesday Aug. 24, 10:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Civic Center and Tonopah. Viewing prior to services from 9:00 am to 9:45 am. She will be laid to rest in Leeds, Utah. Graveside services 4:30 pm (Utah time) August 24, Leeds Cemetery.
