GEORGE - "Larry" Lorraine Hunt was born April 20, 1934 in Enterprise, Utah to Thomas Elmer and Emma Day Hunt. He died December 11, 2005 in St. George, Utah after a courageous battle against cancer. He was the youngest of eleven children who grew up in a loving family. During his childhood, he enjoyed riding horses and herding cattle with his father and older brothers in the hills around Enterprise. Larry graduated from Enterprise High School and attended Dixie College on a basketball scholarship. After serving in the US Army Larry moved to northern California, where he was employed by General Motors for many years. He married Rosalee Harris in 1957 (later divorced) and they were the parents of three children, Lisa Michele, Lorilee and David. Larry was chosen for several promotions by General Motors and transferred to southern California to open a new plant there in 1968. In 1975 Larry decided to move back to southern Utah to be near the open spaces he loved. He drove truck for Charlie Randall and then Jenkins Oil until his retirement in 1996. In 1980 Larry married Barbara Bell Read and they spent 26 happy years together enjoying horse races, camping, fishing, traveling, sports, family activities and just being in Enterprise. They loved their blended family, including grandkids and recently great grandkids. Larry was also a true animal lover who will be missed by his dog, Danny. He had many lifelong friends. His wife Barb meant everything to him and she was devoted to him. Larry is survived by his wife, Barbara; children, Lisa Michele (David) Church, Lorilee (Mark) Jamison, David G. Hunt, Rick Read, Randy (Sharon) Read, Ron (Suzy) Read and Patti (Tyler) Esplin; 20 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Floyd (Lois) Hunt and Preston (Erin) Hunt and his sister, Geneva Jones. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Clair, Elwin, Ellis, Bill, Ivin and his sister, Ollie. Larry was a member of the LDS Church and an honorable man in all he did. He was handsome and charming; his smile could light up the room. He loved listening to good music (especially when his granddaughters Jaime and Andrea sang) and good stories. Larry was known for being able to fix anything, having a good sense of humor and doing a job right. We will think of him every day. He will be loved, remembered and deeply missed. Funeral services will be Friday, December 16, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Enterprise Stake Center, 88 S. Center St., Enterprise, UT. Visitations will be held Thursday, December 15, 2005 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 W. St. George Blvd., St. George, UT and Friday, December 16, 2005 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. prior to services at the stake center. Originally published December 13, 2005 Brittney LuFarn Hunter CEDAR CITY - Brittney LuFarn Hunter born Nov. 12, 1985 in Cedar City, Utah. To Clay Raymond and Kay Lynn Hunter. Our little angel Brittney left her home here on earth to be with her heavenly father on Dec. 10, 2005 peacefully in her sleep. Brittney lived her life in Enoch city and touched many with her sweet spirit. She gave us new awareness of the miracles of life in each day. Surviving her are her siblings: Chad (Kim) Hunter, Troy (Tabitha) Hunter, Kyler and Jessica Williams. Her parents Kay Williams and Clay (Jacki) Hunter. Originally published December 13, 2005 Millie Huntsman Long ST. GEORGE - Millie Huntsman Long, 89, passed away December 10, 2005 in St. George, Utah. Millie was born August 24, 1916 to Solon Edwin and Theresa Leavitt Huntsman in Bunkerville, Nevada. Her grandparents, Dudley and Thirza Riding Leavitt and Joseph Smith and Solinda Eastman Huntsman were original settlers of Gunlock, Utah and Bunkerville, Nevada. She was the youngest of eight children. Millie lived much of her young life in Mesquite, Nevada and Orem, Utah. She graduated from Virgin Valley High School in Mesquite in 1934. She was the class valedictorian and excelled in speech and dramatic readings. Following graduation from high school Millie moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where she worked at various jobs. She went to work in the Clark County Clerk's office as a night time file clerk. When she resigned in 1951 she was the Chief Deputy Clerk. On April 29, 1948 Millie married Lawrence H. Long in the LDS St. George Temple. They were married for 52 years. He preceded her in death on January 3, 2000. Millie lived in Las Vegas from 1934 until 1984. She lived in Orem, Utah and then settled in St. George in 1993. She was an outstanding homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. She was active in the LDS Church throughout her life. She served a mission with Lawrence, taught in many auxiliaries and served as Relief Society President, Primary President and Young Women's President numerous times. Millie is survived by three daughters: Sherrie (Bruce) Whitney of Logandale, Nevada; Nadine (Garry) Cuff of Henderson, Nevada; Mona (Sam) Haslem of St. George, Utah; nine grandchildren; SheriDawn (Joshua) Neilson, Lawrence (Larry) (Cynthia) Whitney, Garry S. Cuff, Doug Cuff, Cortney (Gerald) Haslem Brewer, Jamie (Trent) Dalton, Beckie (MJ) Saxton, Pam Haslem, Justin Haslem, and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence, one granddaughter, Candice Lynn Cuff, and seven brothers and sisters. Services will be held Wednesday, December 14, 2005, at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 W. St. George Blvd. in St. George, Utah at 11:00 a.m. A viewing will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to services at the mortuary. Interment will be at the St. George City Cemetery. GEORGE - Brady Moroni Muehlen, 87, passed away peacefully in St. George, Utah, on Thursday, December 8, 2005, after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Brady was born in American Falls, Idaho, on January 13, 1918, to Bernie and Lilly Muehlen. He was predeceased by his parents, Bernie and Lilly Muehlen, brother, C. Fred Muehlen, and sister, Bernice Jones, and grandson, Mark Muehlen. He is survived by his: wife of 52 years, Betty Mae Muehlen, of Hurricane, UT; children, Kim (Pamela) Muehlen, of Chino, CA, Adele (James) Estep, of Hurricane, UT, and Eric (Elizabeth) Muehlen, of Rancho Cucamonga, CA; and brother, Paul Muehlen, of Naples, Florida. Brady leaves seven surviving grandchildren, Fernando, Brian, Jeffrey, Erica, Jason, Joshua, and Laura. Brady enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1938, and re-enlisted shortly after the Pearl Harbor attack of 1941. He served his country for more than 20 years and in ports of call throughout the world. Brady considered his military service one of the proudest accomplishments of his life. He was honorably discharged as a Chief Yeoman in April, 1956. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His marriage to Betty was solemnized in the San Diego Temple in 2001. He spent the last months of his life at the Kolob Care and Rehabilitation Center in St. George, Utah. His family is deeply grateful for the loving care he received there and thanks all the nurses, aides, and other medical personnel for their kindness and hard work. Memorial services will be held Saturday, December 17, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. at the Jurupa 3rd Ward Chapel, 8660 44th Street, in Riverside, CA. A private graveside service, with military honors, is planned at a later date at the Riverside National Cemetery. The family requests that any memorial gifts be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave. 6th Floor, New York, NY 10001, in hopes of finding a cure for this debilitating disease. Originally published December 13, 2005 Ronda Taylor Munford CEDAR CITY - Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Ronda Taylor Munford, Cedar City, at the age of 68, passed away peacefully at her home, December 8, 2005. She was born on September 26, 1937 in Lyman, Utah to Harold Berry and Vivian Venice Taylor. She married her loving husband Lyman Munford while attending the College of Southern Utah now Southern Utah University, on July 26, 1957 in the Manti Temple. Ronda was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many callings such as a Young Women's Advisor, Eleven-year old Scout Leader, in the ward Relief Society Presidency and teacher and in the Stake University Relief Society Presidency. She was a Red Cross First Aid and a C.P.R Trainer. Officer over artifacts of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Ronda was a Pink Lady for ten years at the Valley View Medical Center, and presently the Red Cross Utility Assistance Coordinator. Ronda has served for seventeen years as the Assistant Volunteer Coordinator at the Utah Shakespearean Festival. Her service started in 1989. The very first year the Randall Theater productions became a part of the Utah Shakespearean Festival. She truly was an ambassador to the people. It was a high point in her life when she would hostess at the Randall Theater and she always looked forward to the opening performance. She graduated from Delta High School, then attended Excelsior Beauty College in Salt Lake City, where she became a licensed Beautician and was her family and husband's personal barber. She was P.T.A. President of South Elementary School in Cedar City and the Regional P.T.A. Vice President. Ronda loved to cook and she was continuously trying to improve and perfect her skills where she became one of the finest cooks there was. She loved to prepare many different kinds of foods and she delighted in providing food for her family and family gatherings. It brought her great joy and happiness when someone would ask for a copy of one of her recipes. She is survived by her husband Lyman of Cedar City, children Michael (Lauri) Munford, Mark Munford, Craig Munford, Michelle Munford Barnes, all of Cedar City, Utah, her father Harold Taylor of Delta, Utah, mother-in-law Marie Munford of Cedar City, Utah, brothers Doug (Diane) Taylor of Bountiful, Utah, Dennis (Mary Lee) Taylor of Paradise, California, David (Una Rae) Taylor of Delta, Utah, Gary (Helen) Taylor of South Jordan, Utah, sisters Phyllis (Gene) Edwards of Salina, Utah, Charlotte (Owen) Cahoon of St. George, Utah, LaRayne (Jay) Moody of West Valley, Utah, and 10 grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her mother Venice, father-in-law Budd Munford, brother Sherril and brother-in-law Scott Skidmore. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2005 at 12:00 p.m. at the Cedar City West Stake Center, located at 720 South 1100 West.. GEORGE - Helena Mason Russell, 84, passed away 12/10/2005 in St. George, UT. She was born November 27, 1921 in Aurora, UT to Philip Ralph Mason and Estella Lavean Shaw Mason. She was married to Leonard Hubert Russell. They were married in Fillmore, UT on 9/12/1938 which was later solemnized in the Salt Lake temple. She later married Wayne Snyder in Fillmore, UT on 9/18/1965 Lena and Leonard had four children, Lyle (deceased at birth), Marilyn, Paul and Joanne in SLC, UT. After 25 years of marriage Leonard preceded her in death and she later married Wayne Snyder and they lived in Fillmore, UT for 24 years. They were divorced in 1990 and she moved to St. George to be with her daughters where she lived until the present. Lena appreciated hard work and was willing to volunteer her time to many causes. In Fillmore she was known for her gardening talents, winning local awards for her roses. She had many church callings throughout her life, in later years she enjoyed temple work and volunteered at the hospital as a pink lady. She touched the hearts of those she met and worked with. She is survived by her three children, Marilyn and Robert Chamberlain, their children Lisa, Brian, Michelle, Shanna, Amie and Bobbie Lyn. Paul and Diana Russell, their children Tracy, Lisa, Robert, Kres, Tonna and Noel. Joanne and Bob Hildebrandt, their children Melissa, Eric and Jacob. Her brothers Cecil and Farrel (d) Mason, Calvin and Margie Mason, Ervin & Katherine Mason, Vera & Gary Prisbrey. She has 14 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who love her. She was born April 24, 1973 in St. George, Utah to Dean Lee Shelley and Sheri Diane Miller. She is survived by her loving parents, Dean and Ruthann Shelley of St. George, Ut and Sheri and Barry Harrison of Port Orange, FL., four sisters, Sara Shelley, Krystel Shelley, Mikeala Harrison and Jennifer Phipps, five brothers, Marty Bax, Kendal Shelley, Buddy Redmond, Sean Fralick and Brandon Harrison, grandparents, Becky Shelley and Darrel and Margaret Miller, all of St. George. She is preceded in death by her Grandfather Walter Shelley and her sweet little son Jesse Dean Shelley born to her March 4, 1991. Kischla our hearts are weighing heavy over the loss of you. We miss you so much because we love you so much. Our lives will never be the same but we are at peace knowing that you are with your sweet baby Jesse and knowing that Heaven has added two more precious little angels to smile down and watch over us.
