She was born on Oct. 26, 1916 in Woodland, Utah to John Wessley and Emily Ann (White) Lefler. On Sept 25, 1936 she married Jack Lloyd Crandall in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He preceded her in death on April 28, 1984. She loved her children and grandchildren and enjoyed any time they could be together. Survived by her son: John L. (Exie) Crandall, Evanston, Wy Daughters: Janice Lunt Smith, St. George, Ut; Renee (Carmen) Atkinson, Francis, Ut; and Darlene (Robert) West, Las Vegas, Nv. Also 13 grandchildren 39 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, a son-in-laws, Marvin Lunt and Francis Smith Jr., and a grand daughter, Kimberly. Funeral service will be on Thursday, December 22, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. in the Peoa LDS Ward chapel. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday one hour prior to the service. GEORGE - Betty Ellen Harris, age 48, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2005, at her home in St. George. She was born May 21, 1957, in Ogden, Utah, a daughter of James Roy Harris, Sr. and Betty Yvonn Matheson Harris. Betty Ellen attended elementary school in Provo, Utah, and Jr. High and High School in Payson, Utah. She did undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University. Her major occupation was her work in the U.S. Postal Office. Betty Ellen loved to design and sew clothing. She enjoyed photography and helped her father on field trips, family camping, and fishing trips. She traveled with her family to Israel, Egypt, Jordan, Cypress, Greece, and Italy. Over the years, Betty Ellen lived in North Ogden, UT, Provo, UT, Chicago, IL, Hyrum, UT, Israel, West Mt., Payson, UT, Manhattan, NY, and New Haven, CT, settling in St. George in 2002. A devoted and faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Betty Ellen was a very loving and devoted daughter and friend. Surviving family include her: parents, James R. and Betty Y. Harris, Sr., of Orem, UT; brother, James R. (Wanda) Harris, Jr., of Stanton, VA; and sisters, Gwen Starley Harris, of Orem, UT, Kathleen Ann (Robert) Porter, of Spanish Fork, UT, and Sherry S. (Von) Allred, of Bremerton, WA. Originally published December 20, 2005 Wayne Owen Lathim Wayne Owen Lathim passed away December 16, 2005 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born on August 27, 1967, to Bill Vaughn Lathim and Rayola Griffiths Lathim in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He graduated from Cedar High School and has worked since then in Las Vegas as a roofer, a convenience store manager, owner of a printing company, Editor of Around Your Home Magazine and as a commercial realtor for One Cap Realty. He married Elaine Mather of Boston, Massachusetts on June 30, 2001 in Fredonia, Arizona. He enjoyed fishing, camping, golf and especially his dogs. He is survived by his wife Elaine Mather-Lathim of Las Vegas, Parents Bill (Melanie) Lathim of Cedar City, Utah, Rayola (David) Hintze of Springville, Utah, sister Winna Jean Hesser of Las Vegas Nevada, daughters Alyssa Marie Lathim of Cedar City, Utah and Shawntaya Lathim of Parowan, Utah, step-sister Kristin Gregory of Virginia and step-brother David Ballard of Cedar City, Utah, numerous nieces and nephews and grandparents Helen Griffiths of Fredonia and Darrell and Oneita Lathim of Fredonia, Arizona. John Orlan Ruesch TROPIC - Orlan Ruesch, 78, passed away on December 17, 2005 in Cedar City, Utah. He was born May 1, 1927 in Springdale, Utah to Howard and Susan Crawford Ruesch. He married Ferriland Hatch on August 12, 1946. The marriage was later solemnized in the St. George Temple. He was the third of ten children and was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Morris; a sister, Vada; son Orlan Layne Ruesch; grandson, Orlan Kim Munford; and son-in-law, Frank Pitts. He is survived by his wife, Ferriland, of 59 years; five children, Geraldine (Dave) Munford, Peggy (Frank) Pitts, John (Janice) Ruesch, Renon (Rick) Bybee, Kimberly (Chris) Hansen; 29 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren. He was a loving husband, an awesome dad, an incredible grandfather and a reluctant but excellent chef. GEORGE - William Overton Sheppard, age 95, died December 14, 2005, in St. George, Utah. He was born May 19, 1910, to John Hutchens and Mary Robb Sheppard, in a covered wagon while his parents were walking the Southern states working in the cotton fields. As he grew older he worked in the mining industry mining gold, coal, and uranium with his brothers. He was introduced to his eternal companion and the LDS Church at a dance. He and LaRene Black were married May 8, 1933. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 8, 1934. William and LaRene served an LDS Mission on the Navajo Indian Reservation for 27 months. They also served two five year missions at the Manti LDS Temple. They worked in the extraction program and Family History Center for 11 years. After LaRene's death in 1977 he continued his faithful temple service, attending everyday. William enjoyed playing golf with his brother-in-law and grandchildren. He enjoyed playing games and spending time with his grandchildren and loved a good meal. Most of all he loved to laugh and loved life. He is survived by his children; Laurel (Gordon) Hawkins, Alison (Gerald) Black, Marilee (Vee) Adams, and Arda (John, deceased) Doss, 32 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 21, 2005, at 11 a.m., at the Metcalf Mortuary Chapel, 288 W.
