She was born January 11, 1936 in Milford, Utah to Truman and Merle Bradfield. She graduated from Beaver High School where she met and later married her life-long sweetheart, Dee J. Smith on June 30, 1954 in the St. George Temple. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother to her four children, 15 grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. She enjoyed creating a warm inviting home that was filled with love and many beautiful things that she had made herself. She did lovely handwork and was a talented seamstress and cook. She served in many different church callings throughout her life, especially enjoying working in the primary and as the homemaking leader. She was sweet and tenderhearted, delighting in her posterity and finding good in all. She was survived by her husband and lover, Dee J. Smith, her daughters Christeen Kunz and Nanette Neeley and her sons, Craig and Brad Smith. Family and friends may pay their respects to the family on Thursday, December 22, from 11:00 to 12:30 p.m. at the Southern Utah Mortuary in Beaver, Utah. A private graveside service will follow at the Mountain View Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary. Online condolences may be sent through our website at www.sumfamily.com Originally published December 21, 2005 Barbara Jay Rogers Woodside Barbara Jay Woodside, 62, a current resident of Milford, Utah, passed away December 19, 2005 after a long battle with cancer. She was born and raised in Snowflake, Arizona where she also attended school. She was a life long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in several capacities. Barbara and her husband Claude Woodside were blessed with three daughters, Mary Lou Hatch of Peoria, AZ., Carol Lynn Doerr of Tooele, UT., Amy Jo Partridge of Cedar City, UT., and also two sons-in-law, Frank Bly Hatch and Robert Jay Doerr, as well as 13 beautiful grandchildren. She has two brothers Russel Neil Rogers and Roy Shane Rogers of Snowflake, AZ. And a sister Jerilyn Hoover of Show Low, AZ. She is also survived by many friends and loved ones. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 23, 2005 at 3:00PM at the Milford LDS 1st Ward Chapel. Friends and family may pay their respects on Friday at the Church in Milford from 1:00PM to 2:30PM. There will also be funeral services held at the Lovelake Ward Chapel on Wednesday at 2:00PM in Taylor, Arizona with a viewing at the Church from 12:00PM to 1:30PM. Interment will be in the Shumway Cemetery in Shumway, Arizona. Funeral arrangements are by the Southern Utah Mortuary in Milford and the Owens Mortuary in Show Low, Arizona.
