Born May 27, 1923 in Riverton, Utah to Cordelia Marandy McCain and Albert Kropf. He married his sweetheart, Barbara Ann Yardley, on June 20, 1952 in the Salt Lake Temple. Roy was a true hero of World War II, serving as a part of the company that did security and clean-up at Hiroshima immediately after the bomb was dropped. This exposure to radiation caused Roy to battle two different kinds of cancer and led to many years of suffering. Roy served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Southern States Mission. He was always an active member of the church and fulfilled many callings, including serving in two Bishoprics, serving as a Temple Worker for 31¬2 years with Barbara, and serving 3 years as a Stake Missionary with Barbara. He especially loved his many years working in the Young Men's Program and his years as a Primary Teacher. Roy was the ultimate "Fix-it" man. He could create, fix or invent whatever was needed for whatever occasion. He loved "fixing-it" more than using it. A self-taught man, dad was a mechanical genius. A visit from a grandchild was always an excuse to create some new toy. Roy always spoke highly of his love for his sweetheart, Barbara. He was a devoted family man who adored his children and thoroughly enjoyed his grandchildren. They will always remember the adventures they shared with him and treasure their times together. Roy is survived by wife Barbara Kropf of Kanab; children David (Marci) Kropf of Kanab, Julie (Mike) Tyler of West Jordan, Utah, Alan "Zeke" (Shauna) Kropf of Bloomfield, New Mexico, Aaron (Angie) Kropf of Grass Valley, California, and Jared (Ivy) Kropf of Riverside, California; brother Dewey Kropf of Salt Lake City, Utah; 27 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by nine siblings. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at 11:00 AM in the Kanab Utah Stake Center. Viewings will be held Monday evening from 7:00-8:00 PM at Mosdell Mortuary and Tuesday morning from 9:45-10:45 AM at the Stake Center. Burial with military honors will be in the Kanab Cemetery under the direction of Mosdell Mortuary.
