GEORGE - Joseph LeRoy "Roy" Bills passed away December 23, 2005 in St. George, Utah after a brief illness. He was born January 29, 1932 in Payson, Utah the eldest child of Joseph Sterling Bills and Dolly Maurine Daley. He married Francis Hallett Van Ausdal in May 1975 in Ely, Nevada. Roy graduated from Payson High and was twice awarded first place at the Western States Regional Competition in marksmanship. He was a coach and the cofounder for Payson Little League Baseball, as well as an instructor and co-founder of the local gun safety course. He also cofounded the Payson Kiwanis Club. He made his early career as a brick mason and later worked at Nebo Lanes and Duke's Lanes Alley. After graduating from the Law Enforcement Academy, he took a position with the Payson Police Department and served the city with a notable record. He later moved to St. George, Utah and worked as the manager for many years of the Western Safari Motel. Roy will be greatly missed and remembered for his love and appreciation of the outdoors, his kindness and unceasing support of family and friends, his sense of humor, his compassion despite his gruff exterior, and the example he showed us by treating all people with respect. Roy was preceded in death by his wife and parents. He is survived by his stepchildren and their families: Sandra (Carl) Rasmussen, Salt Lake City; Sherry (Dale) Hughes, St. George; and Sharon (Mertin) Moon, Springville, Bryce Van Ausdal, Salt Lake City. Memorial services will be held at the Payson 3rd Ward Chapel on 200 North Main Street, Payson, Utah on Friday, December 30 at 11:00 a.m. Originally published December 29, 2005 Mark Hindley Greene Mark Hindley Greene died peacefully at home December 26, 2005. He was born November 2, 1921 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Mark Hindley and Alice Dunford Greene. He served in the Navy during World War II and graduated from the University of Utah Medical School. He later served during the Korean War at Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne, Wyoming. After completing an orthopedic residency in Los Angeles, California he spent two more years there specializing in hand surgery. When he returned to Salt Lake to begin his medical profession, he became the first hand surgeon in the state of Utah. He practiced at St. Mark's Hospital and Shriners Children's Hospital performing many hand reconstruction miracles. He built the office called Medical Manor on 7th East and South Temple. After 40 years of practice, he and his wife, Barbara moved to St. George, Utah where he continued his work in hand surgery. They both became very active in restoring pioneer homes. They lovingly reconstructed 12 pioneer homes that would have been lost to history and to memory. Most of them were located in Greene Gate Village just north of the Tabernacle and several of them were moved in from other locations. He was the President of the Utah State Medical Society, and the President of the Historical Society, in St. George. Mark loved to paint and has made many beautiful paintings for friends and family. Whenever he took trips, he always had a sketch book with him which resulted in a large collection of drawings that depict his travels and feelings. He has been very active in the LDS Church and has served in many capacities. With his wife, he served for 18 months in the Eugene Oregon Mission in Bandon, Oregon. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; three sons, Mark H. Greene III (Jill), Richard N. Greene (Claudia), John D. Greene (Sherrie); and two daughters, Karen Romney (Melbourne) and Anne Greene. He has 18 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Alva Greene; and two sisters, Lovinia Harmsen and Gloria Kimball. Funeral services will be held at Garden Park Ward, 1150 E. Yale Avenue (1080 So.), on Friday, December 30 at 1:00 p.m. A viewing will be held Thursday, December 29, from 6-8 pm at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple. There will also be a viewing at Garden Park Ward one hour prior to the services. Interment will be at the Salt Lake Cemetery. Marshall LAS VEGAS - David J. Marshall, 68, passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2005. He was born March 12, 1937 in Tropic, Utah. He was a retired Sawyer - Saw Mill. He was in the United States Air Force and a veteran of the Korean War. He is survived by his wife, Darlene Marshall; and daughter, Peggy Henrie, both of Las Vegas; sons: David Marshall, Jr. of Kanab; Paul Marshall of Wendover; Gary Marshall of Kanab; Jody Marshall of Sandy; brother, Joseph Leroy Marshall of Kanab; and sister, Julie Ann Sandrers of Casper, Wyo.; and 19 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, James Marshall. Originally published December 29, 2005 Brent Lewellyn Hunsaker Pulsipher HURRICANE - Brent Pulsipher, age 77, passed away Monday, December 26, 2005. Brent was born February 2, 1928, in Brigham City, Utah to Dale Hunsaker and Merle Heaton Pulsipher. He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for 42 years, and retired to Hurricane, Utah in 1995. He served five years as a temple worker in the St. George LDS Temple where he was loved by one and all. He is survived by his wife, Deveen Pulsipher, and four children: Brent Lee Pulsipher, Linda Wilmott, Ronald Pulsipher, and Connie Himes, and two step daughters: Rondalyn Ingram, and Janice Stephens, half brothers and sisters: Carol Stewart, Nyron Pulsipher, Allen Pulsipher, Shirley Valcarce, Wayne Hunsaker, Ann Williams, and Neil Hunsaker. He has 25 grandchildren and 53 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 31, 2005, at 10 a.m., at the Hurricane LDS 11th Ward Chapel, 425 N. 2600 W., Hurricane, UT. Originally published December 29, 2005 Lorena Roundy Lorena Goulding Roundy, 89, passed away December 27, 2005 in Hurricane, Utah, at the home of her daughter Rayda Roundy. She was born November 13, 1916 in Henrieville, Utah to Charles Hezekiah and Dessie Eleanor Riding Goulding. She married Horace Garn Roundy July 18, 1934, Solemnized Sept 4, 1934 in the St George temple. He preceded her in death Oct. 19, 1972. Lorena was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held leadership positions in all the organizations of the church. Her longest calling was in the Records Extraction program, serving some seventeen years, but the calling she enjoyed most was that of wife and mother. She loved being at home growing flowers and vegetables. She also loved to travel and was able to visit a good many of the states. She was an avid reader and often read a book or more a day up until her death. She did beautiful handwork of tatting, crocheting and netting. She was a person who made do with what she had. Originally published December 29, 2005 Molly Lauck Snider Sanders WASHINGTON - Molly Lauck Snider Sanders, died December 22, 2005 at the Dixie Regional Medical Center from complications of pneumonia. She was 95 years old. Molly was born, the first of eleven children, to Peter T. Lauck and Katherine Luft in Globeville, Colorado, November 7, 1910. Molly enjoyed a fruitful and long life. She married Pete Snider Jr., January 10, 1932 in Wheatland, Wyoming. Together they had seven children. Norm (Catherine) Snider of Roswell, New Mexico, Darlene Enzian of Roswell New Mexico, Rudolph (deceased) (Mary) Snider of Ivins, Utah, Bernette (James) Doran of Trapp, Maryland, William (Patricia) Snider of Nampa, Idaho, Linda (Russell) Goodman of Morgan Hill, California, and Marilyn (Edmund) Swiderski of Washington, Utah. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Pete, son Rudolph, and sisters, Eleanor Cooke of Ismay, Montana, and Elizabeth Gabbert of Ft. Collins, Colorado. Molly married Richard Franklin Sanders in 1972 and he died in 1977. She married Lee Washington Sanders in 1978 and he also died. Molly has lived in Colorado, Wyoming, California and from 1978 - 2003 in Washington, Utah. She lived in an assisted living facility in St. George, Utah at the time of her death. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for 37 years. Molly has numerous grand, great grand, and great-great grandchildren. Molly retired from the Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Santa Clara, California. She enjoyed gardening and was a devoted mother and grandmother. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 30, 2005 at the Main Street LDS Chapel in Washington, Utah at 11:00 a.m. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the funeral under the direction of Heideman Mortuary. Interment will be in the Washington City Cemetery, next to her husband Pete. Originally published December 29, 2005 Gordon Dale Sybrant CEDAR CITY - Gordon Dale Sybrant, age 68 years old, passed away on December 26, 2005 at his home in Cedar City, Utah. He was born on April 27, 1937 in Harrisville, Minnesota, to Verle and Florence Segelstorm Sybrant. He was married to Darlene Ethel Knoche on August 3, 1957 in San Diego, California. Gordon was a very loving husband and father. He was a mentor to all that he knew. Gordon is survived by his wife Darlene Sybrant of Cedar City, Utah, and also by his children Tammie Sybrant of St. George, Utah, Greg Sybrant of Palm Springs, California, Gary Sybrant of Page, Arizona, Terrie Collins of Brigham City, Utah, and Gerald Sybrant of Page, Arizona. Gordon is also survived by eight grandchildren, and one greatgrandchild, and family and friends. A memorial Service will be held on Friday December 30, 2005, at 1:00 p.m. at Southern Utah Mortuary.
