Agricola OGDEN -- Mary Jane Nelson Agricola, 85, died Thursday, December 30, 2004. She was born October 9, 1919 to Alphonso and Hortense Evans Nelson in Salt Lake City, Utah. She spent her childhood in Nevada, graduating from Las Vegas High School in 1939. She attended Utah State University and received her degree in nursing from the Budge Hospital in Logan, Utah, where she met her sweetheart, Cal. Mary Jane married Calvin D. Agricola on December 5, 1940 in Logan and spent the next 64 years happily with him. They raised their children Patti, Tom, Shelley and Jill in Ogden, Utah. M.J. worked as a registered nurse at the Dee Memorial Hospital and as a public health nurse for Weber County for 14 years. Teaching came later in her career. She was cited for her work in developing a health career curriculum for the State of Utah secondary schools, which received national recognition and acceptance. She loved teaching her students at Bonneville and Roy High Schools. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. M.J. and Cal spent many happy years golfing at Patio Springs Country Club, Ogden Golf and Country Club, and Bloomington Country Club in St. George, Utah. She was perhaps best known for her great sense of humor, her quick wit, and fun personality. She loved a good joke and could entertain us for hours with her delightful stories. She could always see the glass as half full. Mary Jane was a wonderful, loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will remain in our hearts forever. She is survived by her husband, Cal, and her children: Patti Langrock (Dave), Thomas Nelson Agricola (Pat), Shelley Agricola (J. Fehon), Jill Sparrow (Ben); her grandchildren: Heidi Langrock Larsen, Holly Langrock Novak, Erin Agricola Howard, Josh and Cal Garr Agricola, Matt, Nic, Ty, and Zac Sparrow, and eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her sister, Rachel Nelson Johnson and brother, Richard Nelson. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Thomas Nelson, Herman Nelson, and Elizabeth Nelson Halsell. The family would like to express our deepest gratitude to the special caregivers at The Meadows Assisted Living in St. George, The Emeritus Estates Assisted Living in Ogden, Legacy Hospice Care of Northern Utah, and Crestwood Care Center. Graveside services will be held Friday, January 7 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. The family will meet with friends on Thursday, January 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in her name to the American Red Cross for Tsunami Relief: The American Red Cross - P.O. Leon Donald Brinkerhoff Leon Donald Brinkerhoff, 66 years old, passed away peacefully into the presence of Jesus on December 30, 2004 with his loving wife at his side and with the support of his adoring family. Leon waged a very valiant battle with congestive heart failure and other health conditions. Leon and his identical twin brother Verdon, were born to Zula and Donald Brinkerhoff in Park City, UT, on August 5, 1938, and moved to southern Utah. Leon's father was a sheepherder so Leon lived in St. George, as well as the Dixie National Forest and the Glendale bench when herding sheep in the summers. He enjoyed a happy childhood and the twin brothers became known as the sensational "singing twins" at an early age. The acclaimed pair were in great demand, singing and entertaining at social functions for years, as well as being aired on the radio. The talented duo was offered a Hollywood contract which they turned down. Leon attended schools in southern Utah and graduated with Honors from BYU. He met the love of his life, Erika Anna Brinkerhoff, in Nurnberg, Germany, and they were married June 13, 1961, in St. George. The family settled in Salt Lake City, where they raised four children. Leon had a thirst for learning and he enjoyed a successful and colorful career in education and computers. Leon loved Jesus, he cherished his family and he had a passion for people. He is remembered for his faithfulness, generosity and his infectious sense of humor. He loved shopping with his brother Dermont, weight lifting, going to the movies, and he enjoyed the music of Elvis Presley. He lived life as a celebration. Leon is survived by his dear wife of 43 years, Erika Anna Brinkerhoff; son, Brent Leon Brinkerhoff (Rachel and children Monica, Trent, Tiffany); son, Eric William Brinkerhoff (Rosemary and children Jasmin (Jake), Claire (Jody), Christina, Sarah, Leorah, Samuel, Annie-Rose, Daniel); daughter, Sonya Anna Whittenberg (Dave and children, Ryan, Erika, Ariel, Sorsha); daughter, Veronica Miuium Brinkerhoff (Corey Larson and children, Braxton and Corrina); great grandchildren, Michelle, Dakota, Eli, Alanya; brother and best friend, Dermont Alonzo Brinkerhoff; nephew, Robert Boyd Brinkerhoff. Leon was preceded in death by parents, two babies in utero, twin brother, Verdon, and precious baby grandson, Corey Larson, Jr. Leon's bright smile will be missed by so many people and his acts of kindness will be forever treasured. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the many kind doctors, nurses and medical institutions who assisted Leon. A graveside service commemorating Leon's life and "homecoming" will be held at the St. George Cemetery, 700 E. 100 S. on Wednesday, January 5, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. (If weather is not permitting, the service will be held at Heideman Mortuary, 170 S. Mall Dr., St. George.) A reception following the service will be held at Oasis Community Church, 67 E. St. George Blvd., Suite J. Daniel Lee Greene 1958-2004 Our beloved father, son, brother, and friend, passed away January 1, 2005 in St. George, Utah. He was 46 years old. Daniel was born in Ogden Utah, September 2, 1958. He resided in St. George for the last four years. He worked for St. George City at Green Springs Golf Course and greatly enjoyed his job. Daniel also enjoyed going for rides on his Softtail Harley. His artistic talents will leave impressions on the lives of many. Daniel had a laugh that could fill a room and bring a smile to your face. He was survived by a loving family: mother Shirley Greene, daughter Eden Greene, brother Ron Greene, sister Carol Kelley, and his soul-mate Cheri Halter. Daniel will be missed greatly by those who were touched by his life. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, January 4, 2005 at Heideman Mortuary, 170 South Mall Drive, St.George, Utah at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Interment will follow at Tonaquint Cemetery. George B. Kenney ST. GEORGE -- George B. Kenney passed away January 2, 2005, at his home in St. George, at the age of 86. He was born in Panguitch, Utah June 9, 1919, a son of George Brye Kenney and Verda Church Kenney. He graduated from Garfield High School in Panguitch and moved to Glendale, Calif., where he graduated from Technical Aircraft School with a degree in Manufacturing Engineering. Later he received another degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of California. He married Lois Tebbs November 21, 1921 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Los Angeles Temple. They resided in Downey, Calif. and San Francisco, Calif., while raising their family. He retired from Palmdale, Calif. to Orem, Utah and then to St. George. George was a member of the L.D.S. Church. He was an active High Priest, Boy Scout Leader, Elder Quorum President and Home Teacher. He is survived by his wife, Lois Kenney; grandson, Taylor Spalding; great granddaughter, Annalynn; daughter-in-law, Linda Kenney; son-in-law, Bill Spalding; and sister, Barbara Brewer. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Stephen, his daughter, Kathryn and two grandchildren, Jill and Natalie Spalding and two younger brothers, John Harold and Robert Kenney. He will be buried at the Family Plot in Orem City Cemetery. Services are pending. Steven Lindsay Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, Steven Lindsay, passed away on December 28, 2004. He was born on February 19, 1957 to Bill and Eleanor Lindsay in Red Bluff, CA. He met and married his one and only true love Sierra "Brown" Lindsay on April 8, 1988. He is survived by his wife Sierra Lindsay, Cedar City; daughter, Cynthia Leach (Mike), St. George; Sons, Josh Lindsay, Los Angeles, CA; Robert Lindsay & William Lindsay, both of Cedar City; two beautiful grandchildren, Brenden and Catlyn Leach, St. George; father Bill Lindsay, Santa Rosa, CA; sisters, Barbara Sutton, San Luis Obispo, CA; Judy Lindsay, San Luis Obispo, CA; Mary Lindsay, Spokane, WA; brother, John Lindsay, Morro Bay, CA; and his Best Friend of 40 years, Gregory Carpenter, Cedar City. He is preceded in death by his mother, Eleanor Lindsay. Burial services will be held in San Luis Obispo, CA.
