She was born on November 10, 1916 in Barron, Wisconsin to Martin Elbert and Florence Norma McKee Skinner. She married Elmo Whitney Lowder on October 18, 1938 in Pinedale, Wyoming and together raised four children. Frances was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many various callings. She loved genealogy and doing temple work. She was greatly loved by her family and many good friends who will all miss her. She is survived by her children J (Stephanie) from Lexington, Massachusetts, Sandra (Dick) of Delta, Utah, Alan of Campbell, California, and Brent of Las Vegas, Nevada. She is preceded in death by her husband Elmo Lowder, parents Martin and Florence Skinner, three brothers, one sister, one grandson Christopher Willoughby and one granddaughter Breanna Lowder. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday morning, July 20, 2005, 11:00 a.m. at the Parowan 3rd and 4th Ward Building. Friends and family may call on Tuesday night, July 19, 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Parowan Southern Utah Mortuary and on Wednesday morning, July 20, 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Parowan 3rd and 4th Ward Building. GEORGE, Utah - Evelyn Terry Bleak's prayers were answered Saturday, July 16, 2005, (Perhaps thinking even Hell couldn't be any hotter than this day in St. George with the power out??). She had fought the good fight with myeloma for five years. Evelyn was born January 30, 1913, in Rockville, Utah, to David Parshall and Phebe Dalley Terry, the youngest of 13 children, of whom 7 survived. She married Willard Bleak on April 10, 1933, and their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George Temple. Two children were born to them, a son, Terry, and daughter, Billie. Evelyn attended school in Rockville, Hurricane, Cedar City, and St. George, always at the top of the class. Bill and Evelyn owned and operated Bleak Cleaners for many years. After selling the cleaners, they became part owners in "Evelyn's" dress shop which Evelyn managed until she retired in 1975. Evelyn was a busy, involved women in Civic affairs, Chamber of Commerce, LOE, ALR, BPW, Southwest Guild, a stint with SCORE, volunteer for DRMC, Relief Society, and working in the temple. She enjoyed golfing, weekends in Pinto, and the Happy Hikers. After Bill's death, at age 71, she filled a mission in the Sacramento area. She found great pleasure in her newfound passion for painting, BYU Travel Abroad, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Evelyn is survived by her: son, Terry (Mary Jane) Bleak, of Toquerville, UT; and daughter, Billie Frei, of St. George; 6 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, son-in-law, Kelton Frei, parents, brothers, and sisters. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 20, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. at the Main Street Chapel, 166 South Main, St George, UT, with a viewing Tuesday, July 19, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Spilsbury Mortuary and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., prior to services, at the Chapel. Interment will be at the St. George City Cemetery. Arrangements are made under the direction of Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 S. Bluff St., St.George, UT, (435) 673-2454. Originally published July 18, 2005 Bill Bowen RICHFIELD, Utah - William Ray "Bill" Bowen, age 79, died July 16, 2005 at his home in Richfield. He was born October 30, 1925 in Rupert, Idaho, a son of John H. and Sarah Stewart Bowen. He married Kathryn Rollins, May 21, 1945 in Parowan, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple June 12, 1952. She died September 9, 2003. Bill was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Navy. He was a member of the LDS Church. He is survived by his children: Michael and Janice Bowen, Jeffery and Carrie Bowen, all of Salt Lake City; Geri and Almon Dickinson of Richfield; Jacqueline and Leland Curtis of Aurora; Blaine and Chris Bowen of Boise, Idaho; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a sister, Idonna. Grave side services will be held Wednesday, July 20, 2005 at 1:00 P.M. in the Parowan City Cemetery.
