He is survived by his parents, siblings; Donald, Naomi, Olivia, Elise and Dallin Anderson of Firth, ID, grandparents, Donald and Rose Anderson of St. George, UT, and Donald and Rosemary Gouchenour of Conrad, MT, and great grandparent, Raymond W. Gouchenour of Great Falls, MT. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday July 23, 2005 at the Firth Ward Chapel (744 North 600 East) with Bishop Richard Moulton conducting. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 till 1:45 P.M. at the Church. Interment will be in the Firth Cemetery under the direction of Nalder Funeral Home in Shelley. Originally published July 22, 2005 Annie Madesdry Bell Downing Annie Madesdry Bell Downing was born March 3, 1920 in Portland, Oregon and passed away July 19, 2005 in St. George, Utah. Annie was the second oldest of 5 children and the oldest daughter. The family moved to the Oakland, California area when she was a child and she grew up there. Annie excelled in academics and sports, especially softball and tennis. She was an accomplished cook and seamstress and also taught herself to crochet, embroider, knit and tatt. All family members were happy recipients of her handwork. Annie married John W. Downing in August 1941. Together they have 2 daughters, Ann Ledesma of St. George, Utah and Jacqueline Reeder of Brigham City, Utah. The family joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in November 1962, and was later sealed for time and eternity in March 1968. Annie and Jack fully embraced the gospel and have been faithful members. Annie served as Relief Society President and Primary President and always loved being a visiting teacher. They have 10 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Annie dedicated her life to the gospel and to her children and grandchildren. She was proud of each one and was their best cheerleader. Annie was preceded in death by her parents, all her siblings and one great grandson. We know that "Grandma Annie" is having a happy reunion. Grandma, we will miss you but we are grateful that you are now released from your earthly cares and look forward to reuniting with you someday in the Lord's due time. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 23, 2005, 3 p.m. at the Snow Canyon Stake Center, 1184 North Dixie Downs Road, St. George, Utah. Originally published July 22, 2005 Mildred Spendlove Lee Heaton VIRGIN - Mildred Spendlove Lee Heaton, age 84, passed way Thursday, July 21, 2005, at the Hurricane Care & Rehabilitation Center in Hurricane, Utah. She was born May 14, 1921, in Virgin, Utah, a daughter of Karl Ervin and Lenora Barney Spendlove. Mildred married James Willard Lee on June 20, 1938, and they later divorced. On February 14, 1974, she married LaMont "Pete" Heaton, who preceded her in death on January 26, 2001. Born, raised, and educated in Virgin, Mildred was truly a pioneer who lived her entire life in that small community. She married young and raised her family in Virgin. She was employed by E.J. Graff, in LaVerkin, Dratter's Motel and Restaurant, in Springdale, Hurricane Mesa Test Site, in Virgin, and Sunset Canyon Ranch (Curtis Scarritt) in Virgin. Mildred was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she has served as Relief Society President, and also served in many other positions in all of the auxiliaries. She was excellent at quilting and crocheting. She enjoyed being a homemaker, was a superb cook, and no one ever left her home hungry. Kind, gentle, giving, patient, friendly, genuine, sincere are the words that best describe Mildred. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Millie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Surviving family include her children: Eliza Jane (Jim) Hamby, of Burley, ID; Lenora June (Jerry) Schaub, of St. Clair, MN; Mildred Vondell (Garry) Barrick, of Hurricane, UT; Jay Willard (Cecil) Lee, of Virgin, UT; Lawrence Karl (Sharon) Lee, of Virgin, UT; Linda Lee (Dan E.) Howard, of LaVerkin, UT; and Viola (Shane) Harkness, of Burley, ID; 42 grandchildren; 90 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sisters: Melva Ruesch, Doris Ruesch, Etta Mangum, Priscilla Riding; brothers: Eugene Spendlove and Waldo Spendlove; and aunt, Udella Webb. She was preceded in death by her parents, Karl and Lenora; husband, James Willard Lee, and husband, LaMont "Pete" Heaton; sister, Roena Lee; and brothers, Linden and Roland Spendlove. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 25, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. at the Virgin Ward Chapel, Virgin, UT, with a viewing Sunday, July 24, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Hurricane Valley Mortuary, 140 N. John Garnier HURRICANE - Johannes Aloysos Augustus Garnier, 69, died Tuesday in St. George. He was born July 31, 1935, in Cairo, Egypt. Surviving family include his: wife: Eve of Hurricane; children: Robert Garnier of St. George, John (Stephanie) Garnier of Las Vegas, Krista (Troy) Elmer of Cedar City and Gregory (Ann) Goebelt of Ashland, Ore.; 8 grandchildren; and a sister: Therese Farias of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
