He was born on April 14, 1927, in Cedar City, Utah to Edwin Duke Hamblin and Della Adams Hamblin. He was married to Cherole Ann Stratton in Las Vegas, NV. "Zane" was loved by many. He had the gift of making anybody laugh. We hold his smile, laughter, humor, love and soul in our hearts. He died peacefully in the place he cherished most, Cedar Mountain with his beloved basset hound Homer at his side. He is reunited with his loving wife Cherole Ann Stratton, his mother, father, brothers and sisters. He is survived by his daughter Leslie Ann, grandchildren Brandon and Brittany Parcell, his brother Lamar Hamblin, his sister Jean Evans, along with many other loving family members. Graveside services will be held Monday, August 1, 2005, at 10 a.m., in the Cedar City Cemetery, Cedar City, Utah, under the direction of Metcalf Mortuary 435-673-4221. Originally published July 31, 2005 Skye Devora Smith ALTON, Utah/MURRAY, Utah - Our baby, Skye Devora Smith, has returned back to her Heavenly Father. Born July 22, 2005 in Salt Lake City to Gary "Frank" Smith and Tera Lynn Heaton Smith. Grandparents are Dorothy and Ferrill Heaton and Sonia and David Smaldone. Proceeded in death by her Grandpa Gary D. Smith. She reminds us all of how precious life is, no matter how brief. The importance of life is not measured by time. Graveside service will be held Monday 3:30 PM, August 1st, 2005, in the Alton City Cemetery. Originally published July 31, 2005 Richard H. (Tim) Tyler 1926 - 2005 Richard H. (Tim) Tyler, passed away July 30, 2005 in Salt Lake City, Utah of natural causes. Born in Los Angeles California on March 8, 1926 to Charles LeRoy and Mabel Bezzant Tyler. He graduated from Montebello High School in Montebello California in 1944, where he earned all state honors playing on the Southern California State Championship Basketball team. Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enlisted in the Navy in 1944 and served in the Pacific in WWII. A veteran of numerous Pacific Campaigns including the Mariana Islands and the battle for the Philippines seeing ground action in the battle of Zig Zag Pass. He was honorably discharged in June of 1946. Also in 1946 he entered LDS Business College where he met and later married Ina Wright who became his wife and life partner for 58 years. They were sealed in 1958 in the Salt Lake Temple. Tim was a very successful businessman, first owning and operating automobile businesses on Main Street in Salt Lake City for 25 years, and later, commercial real estate developer and owner. He loved sports of all kinds. He was an avid golfer, boater and water skier. He loved flying and was a pilot. He was proud to be an American living in the western United States. Tim will always be remembered and cherished by his family and friends for his devotion to his family. He was truly an outstanding father and role model to his children and grandchildren; and a devoted husband to his wife Ina. Growth of individual members, family activities and family security meant the most to Tim. Tim is survived by his wife Ina; two sons, Timothy J. (Sherry) Tyler; Tee (Debbie) Tyler; daughters, Treesa (Marc) Kurtzeborn; Tamyra (Kent) Bunker; 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; sister Barbara Hunt. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 5, 2005, 11:00 a.m. at the Mount Jordan Sandy 7th Ward, 235 East 9800 South. Friends may call the day of the service at the church from 10:00-10:45 a.m. Interment Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Cannon Mortuary Funeral Directors.
